Blaire
I walked around my room packing things for a weekend stay with Killian for Valentines day when there was a light knock on the wall outside my open door. I turned and smiled at David.
"Hey." I said.
"Hey. Breakfast is ready." David said.
"Okay I'll be down in a minute." I said. David gave me an almost pitiful look when he saw my duffle bag on the bed.
"A whole weekend at Wendy's huh?" He asked. "Are you going to be okay all weekend?"
"I'll be fine. Are you going to be okay?" I smirked.
"We'll see." David chuckled. "I just worry about you and Emma a lot. I do have to ask.. Is there something more between you and Wendy?"
Why on earth does everyone think Wendy and I are together?
"No. She's just my friend Uncle David." I chuckled. "Both of us are single and just want a girls weekend in rebellion of Valentines day." I lied. It was getting to the point where I was beginning to feel guilty for lying to him but there was no way he could know. At least not yet.
"I understand.. I think." David gave me a half smile. "You have your medications packed? What about warm clothes? It's supposed to snow this weekend."
"Yes.I have everything. You aren't going to hide in the back of my truck are you?"
"Don't tempt me." David chuckled and ruffled my hair.
"Dad Stop." I groaned and flattened my hair and then seeing David's expression, I realized what I said. I quickly looked away and swallowed hard.
"Sorry.. I didn't mean to say that." I said.
"Hey... its okay." David said
"Its not though. You're nothing like him." I sighed and sat down on my bed. David sat next to me.
"I look like him though. Its really okay, I expected that long before now honestly."
"I wish.." I started and chewed at my nails. "I wish you were my dad. I feel like I got the short end of the stick.. And maybe thats horrible for me to say but even if my dad didn't murder my mother...he messed me up and its not fair."
"I know its not fair Blaire and I wish things were different too It killed me knowing you weren't here where you knew you were loved...not that he didn't love you, he just didn't know how to show it."
"Yeah.." I sighed again.
"Don't ever think I'm offended by you calling me Dad. I have plenty of room in my heart for two daughters Blaire." David smiled and put his arm around my shoulders.I gave him a half smile and put my head on his shoulder. Maybe... just maybe he wouldn't freak out if I told him what I was really doing this weekend and then maybe I wouldn't feel so bad for lying.
"Uncle David?"
"Yeah?" He asked.
Don't do it Blaire. Bad idea abort mission
"Waffles or pancakes?" I asked. "For breakfast."
Smooth Blaire.
"Waffles, you better get down there before Emma eats them all." He chuckled and stood up.
Well she is eating for two.
I stood up and put the last of the stuff I was packing into my dufflebag and zipped it up. I put it over my shoulder and followed him out of my room and down the stairs to eat breakfast before school.
"So Emma, do you and Graham have plans for Valentines day?" Mary-Margaret asked. I had totally forgotten about Graham being the decoy boyfriend.
"Uh yeah, we're going to see a movie and get dinner." Emma smiled and pushed the eggs on her plate around with her fork.
"You okay sweetie?" David asked.
"Yeah.. I..I just-" Emma's hand flew up to her mouth and she ran away from the table to the downstairs bathroom much to David and Mary-Margarets confusion.
"So theres been this really nasty stomach bug going around at school." I lied. "I think it caught up with Emma."
"Oh, yeah you know we've had some students out of school with it last week.I remember now." Mary-Margaret said. "Poor Emma. I'll go see if I can get her anything." Mary-Margaret said.
No..no I got it, you just.. Stay." I said and got up and walked to the bathroom and knocked on the door.
"Em?" I asked. Emma opened the door and pulled me inside.
"Are they freaking out?" She panicked.
"No, I told them there was a stomach bug. Thankfully there actually have been students out of school with one or they might not have bought it." I sighed. "You really need to think about telling them soon Em."
"Are you insane??" Emma hissed. "My dad will KILL Neal."
"How is Neal taking all of this anyways?" I asked.
"He's..freaked out, but he's calming down some. Me? I'm still freaked out." Emma sighed. "Are you sure they bought it?"
"Pretty sure. You're welcome for the day off from school by the way." I said.
"Thanks." Emma sighed again " I hope you enjoy your weekend with Killian." She added, giving me a small smirk.
"I'm sure I will." I said and grinned.
"Gross." Emma said and left the bathroom shaking her head.
------------------------------------------------------------------
I sat at the lunch table with Will and Wendy going over the plan for this weekend with Wendy.
"So if my uncle calls you tell him what?" I asked.
"That you're in the shower and that you will call him back, and then I text you to call him." Wendy rehearsed.
"Good." I smiled.
"If you're going to make me lie for you.. I think I deserve to know what you are really up to this weekend." Wendy stated. Will almost choked on his chocolate milk.
"Uh... well.." I said.
"Fine. She's going to be with me.." Will blurted out.
Shes..what now??
I turned to Will blinking at him.
"We've been meaning to tell ya Wendy.. But.. didn't want it to be weird." Will continued.
"Weird?? I totally ship you two." Wendy grinned. "I've been waiting for this!"
"She's been waiting for this Will." I said and blinked again. Will gave me an apologetic look.
"Why can't you just tell your uncle about Will? He's a good guy!" Wendy said.
"I just can't Wendy. Not yet. Are you still cool with lying for me?"
"Sure." Wendy nodded.
"Well now that the secrets are out, maybe people will stop thinking Wendy and I are together." I shrugged. "Not that.. You aren't my type Wendy." I smirked.
"Now this. This I ship." Will grinned.
Wendy picked up a french fry and threw it at him.
"I take back what I said about you being the good guy." She said.
"Oh come now, Blendy is a hot topic here at Storybrooke high." Will winked.
"The fuck is Blendy?" I asked.
"Blaire, and Wendy. Blendy." Will shrugged.
"I don't know I like Bill more." Wendy grinned. "I'm so happy for you guys."
Jesus take the Wheel.
--------------------------------------------------------
After lunch, the Valentine's day candy and balloons were starting to be delivered to classrooms and Killian's classroom was filling up with balloons and teddy bears and Heart shaped boxes of chocolates fast. Usually.. I hated Valentine's day, but now that I had Killian, I could see some of the charm about it. By the 10th knock on Killian's classroom door, he was annoyed. He paused his lesson, again and stormed to the door and opened it.
"Please tell me this is the last one of the day." He nearly begged.
"Yes sir." the frightened student on the other side of the door said and handed him something. He turned around with a huge vase of deep purple roses.
"Miss Nolan, this one is for you." He said and walked over and set it on my desk. I couldn't help but smile really big at the flowers, they were really pretty, and my favorite color. There was a card attached to it.
To my love.
You didn't think I'd leave you out did you? ;)
KJ
"Now that, that mess is all out of the way, let's get back to the lesson." Killian said and discreetly winked at me as he walked past.
After his lecture, Killian let us work quietly on the homework assignment. My phone vibrated on my lap and I quickly looked down at it
KJ:
Sorry in advance. It will be worth it I promise. Just go with it.
I looked up at him confused.
"Miss Nolan, are you texting in class?" He asked me. I blinked at him.
"No.. I was ju-"
"Bring me your phone. Now." Killian said.
What in the actual..fuck?
"But I was-"
"Now Miss Nolan." He snapped. I tilted my head at him and raised an eyebrow before I stood up and walked to his desk and placed my phone in his hand.
"You can come claim it later in detention." He smirked.
"Wait.. What??" I scoffed.
"Back to your seat please." He said and actually shooed me away from his desk.
I narrowed my eyes at him and turned on my heels walking back to my desk and sitting down glaring at him.
"Back to work." He said.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I could see him wanting to give me Detention if we were going to be alone, but Will, Victor, and like three other people were here.
What the hell is your gameplan Jones?
Killian walked into the room.
"You all know the drill by now, sit down, stay quiet, and keep busy. If I see any of you not working on something, I will give you something to do and it will be far less pleasant than homework, trust me."
I rolled my eyes and scoffed as I sat down.
"Miss Nolan, your attitude just bought you an extra 30 minutes of detention." Killian said as he sat down.
There it is.. Thats his plan.
"Can I at least have my phone back so I can text my uncle and tell him I'll be late?" I asked.
"I suppose." Killian sighed and I got up and walked to his desk. He opened his drawer and placed a box on his desk that said: Toss A Phone To Your Teacher
I tried my best to hold a giggle as I plucked my phone from the box.
You actual adorable dork.
I didn't really need to text David because I wasn't going home this weekend. So I texted Killian instead.
Me:
Are you always this mean on Valentine's day?
KJ:
I have a good reason. You'll see. Now put your phone up and get to work so I don't have to make you do your homework all weekend ;)
Me:
Make me do my homework? I'd like to see you make me do anything Mr. Jones.
KJ:
Oh.. Miss Nolan don't tempt me.
Me:
You don't tempt me
Killian cleared his throat.
"Miss Nolan, finish your text and get to work." He said. I smirked and put my phone in my backpack and dug out some homework to work on.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Soon after Killian dismissed the other students, he stood from his desk.
"I'll be right back. Don't move." He smirked and left the classroom.
I waited, and waited, for Killian to come back, He'd been gone for almost 45 minutes. I pulled my phone from my backpack and texted him
Me:
You forget me?
KJ:
I Knew I was forgetting something.
Me:
Hah. Hah.
KJ:
The school is completely empty. Doors are locked, come to the auditorium. ;)
I grinned and put everything I was working on in my backpack and stood up, leaving the classroom in a hurry. I practically sprinted to the auditorium.
I wasn't sure what was going to be on the other side of the door so I paused for a moment and then curiosity got the better of me and I opened the door.
I gasped as I stepped inside the dim lit auditorium. There were battery operated tea lights flickering all over the place lighting the place just enough. Killian sat up on the stage grinning at me as I walked down the aisle of chairs to him.
"This is pretty." I smiled.
"Aye." He returned my smile and kissed me before he stood up and walked over to the ropes for the curtains. "Now I know you are going to freak out and say I went overboard, but I just wanted to do something special for you, because you brought me out of such a dark place, I feel like I owe you the moon and the stars." Killian said.
"Killian the roses you got me were enough." I said but he pulled the curtains back. There were two huge valentines day Balloons on the stage, a table with candles, and take out from Mulans and on the screen behind the stage he had Alice in Wonderland ready to play.
My eyes teared up and I smiled.
"Killian this.."
"Its too much, I know." Killian chuckled.
"I love it!" I said and ran up the steps to the stage and threw myself at him.
"I Know a date at the school probably isn't ideal. But I couldn't pass up the opportunity when I realized we were going to be all alone."
"Its perfect Killian." I said and pressed my head to his chest. "All of it."
"Shall we then?" He asked and gestured to the table.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
We spent the next few hours galavanting around the school, enjoying the alone time. We danced on the stage in the auditorium, we played video games in the esports room, basketball in the gym, and even went for a swim in the school pool, finally free to just be us and it felt great.
We ended the evening with Alice in Wonderland, and ice cream cups from the cafeteria and then to make the night even more perfect, it had started to snow as we made our way across the parking lot to his car. I twirled around in the snow catching flakes on my tongue and Killian chuckled.
"I've never seen you as the type to frolic in snow." He said.
"I love snow!" I exclaimed. "We didn't get much of it in oregon, just a lot of rain." I said and grinned. "Look! It's sticking!"
"Look at that we may be snowed in all weekend." Killian winked.
"I would not be upset with that." I grinned and linked my arm with his spinning around in the falling snow with him.
"It's freezing out here and you aren't wearing your coat." Killian chuckled again
"I'll be fine just dance in the snow with me." I pouted at him.
"As you wish." Killian smiled and spun me around.
----------------------------------------------------------
There was something very surreal about getting ready for bed in Killian's apartment. We'd spent a couple hours curled up on the couch with hot chocolate and thrillers and now that we were getting ready for bed the excited little bats in my stomach were flying around, having a party. I felt truly happy for the first time in a long while. I finished brushing my teeth and stood in the doorway to Killian's bedroom watching him get the bed ready. I never saw myself ever being in this situation, I figured for sure after what happened with Keith I was going to be alone, to avoid that heartache but it was so much different with Killian.
"Are you coming to bed?" Killian asked, breaking me from my thoughts. I nodded and smiled before walking across the floor and climbing into bed. Captain hurried into the room and jumped up onto the bed, curling into his spot on the foot of the bed. I sank down against the pillows and turned to face Killian. With him at my side, and Captain down at the foot of the bed, I felt safe, and secure, the only thing I was missing was Bowie sleeping on my pillows next to my head. I pulled the blankets up to my chin and smiled at Killian.
"What?" Killian asked with a chuckle.
"Nothing.. I'm just..happy." I said. "I didn't expect it after everything this year has put me through..but I'm happy."
"Aye...me too." Killian smiled and leaned over and kissed the top of my head. "Goodnight my love."
"Goodnight." I said and curled into his chest.
----------------------------------------------------------------
When I opened my eyes the next morning, the room was very bright. I sat up and stretched and looked at the window at the almost white light peeking in through the blinds and I grinned. I got up and hurried to the window and looked outside at the pure white blanket of snow covering everything. I loved snow days and I loved that I got to spend this one with Killian. I picked up my phone from the nightstand and looked through my text messages
David:
Just checking in. We got a lot more snow than expected.
Me:
Everythings fine here. Wendy and I are about to go out and frolic in the snow like dorks.
David:
Don't stay out too long, you'll catch a cold. Love you, stay warm.
Me:
Love you too.
I put my phone back down and followed the smell of bacon out of the room, and into the kitchen where Killian, still in his Pajamas too, was making breakfast.
"Hello love." I said trying and probably failing to pull off his accent. Killian chuckled and turned around.
"Well thats better than half of the students do when they're mocking me, so I'll give you that."
"Maybe because I spend more time with you." I smiled. "Good morning." I added and walked over to him.
"Good morning love." Killian said and kissed me on the cheek. "I was going to wake you, but I think the bacon did that for me."
"It smells good." I said looking at the platter of french toast, and fruits, and scrambled eggs. I swore, he and David watched the same cooking shows because he too cooked for an army.
"Sorry, I usually have Sebastian on weekends and that little lad eats like a horse." Killian chuckled.
"Its okay." I said. "How did you manage to tell Liam you couldn't take him this weekend?" I asked.
"Actually, Ariel has him in this weekend program at the gym on the other side of town. Sebastian has some trouble expressing his anger so they put him in a junior boxing program figuring it would be a good way to blow off some steam."
"Oh? Yeah boxing is a good thing for that. I've been boxing since I was 5. My dad..he was a youth boxing instructor."
"Well that explains why you almost knocked Peters head clean off his shoulders." Killian said. "Are you still doing it?"
"I haven't since I moved here...but I have been thinking of it. It helped a lot with my anxiety even with my dad barking orders at me constantly." I flinched at the memory.
"Well from what I hear the two ladies who run the program are excellent. They have a youth program and another one for young adults according to Liam." Killian said and put the last of the bacon on the platter.
"I'll look into it." I smiled.
Killian took the platter of food to the table.
"I've just made coffee too. Theres creamer in the fridge if you need it, I wasn't sure how you liked your coffee so I bought a couple flavors." Killian said.
"Oooo!" I said and skipped to the fridge and opened it. "You got my favorite!" I said and plucked the peppermint mocha creamer from the fridge carrying it to the counter where the coffee pot was. I grabbed a mug from the cabinet above the coffee pot and poured some coffee into the cup about half way and then opened the creamer and filled it the rest of the way up. I turned and looked at Killian's horrified expression.
"What?" I asked and sipped at my coffee.
"You have 90 percent creamer in that cup." He said and scrunched his face.
"Listen I don't judge you for drinking your straight hot bean water. Don't judge me for not liking the flavor of dirt." I smirked and happily took another sip of my coffee.
There was a sudden knock on the door that had both of us widening our eyes.
"Brother? I know you're not still asleep." Liam said on the other side of the door.
"Quick, hide in the bedroom!" Killian hissed. I didn't argue I just sprinted to the bedroom and closed the door most of the way, but left it open just a crack so I could hear what was going on. I quickly slipped my snow boots on in case I had to climb out the window.
Killian opened the door and Liam walked in.
"It's the middle of the day and you're still in your pajamas." Liam chastised.
"It's saturday. Get off my case." Killian sighed. I peeked out the bedroom door and watched Liam follow Killian to the kitchen.
"Big..breakfast for just you Killian." Liam observed.
"Well, I thought you'd show up so I made enough for you too." Killian shrugged.
"Oh well, thank you." Liam said and sat down.
You did not just give Liam my french toast!
Liam looked at the counter at my coffee cup I had left there.
"Two cups of coffee even. You're on top of things today." Liam said.
Thank you for being dense Mr. J.
"But... you know I drink my coffee black." Liam said looking at the coffee creamer next to it.
Fuck.
"Oh... uh no this one is mine. I'm trying new things. Yours is on the table." Killian said and picked up my coffee and took a sip. I desperately held in a giggle as he held it in his mouth, trying not to spit it out in the sink before swallowing it.
"Well.. that is.. Just great." Killian tried his best to smile.
Well that was an oscar worthy performance.
"So.. what brings you here this morning Liam?" Killian asked.
"Well, with yesterday being Valentines day, I wanted to check in on you today."
"Liam for the last time.. I am happy. Much happier than I was with Milah." Killian sighed. "You don't need to check on me every other day. I haven't even had a drink in a month or more."
"You don't know how happy I am to hear that Killian." Liam smiled. "I..also thought maybe the two of us could get out of town for the day Its been a while since the Jones Bro's had a guys day." Liam said.
"Well...actually, I'm kind of just wanting a quiet day to myself, this is the first weekend in a while I haven't had Bastian, so I was going to catch up on some work I'm behind on." Killian shrugged.
Liam raised an eyebrow skeptically and looked around. I quickly got away from the door.
"What are you looking for Liam?" Killian asked nervously.
"Well little brother." Liam said and stood up. "One thing I know for certain, is that you are never behind on work so you sir, are lying to me." Liam smirked. "Now things are making sense. The extra breakfast. The coffee with creamer...You have someone over."
My heart dropped into my stomach.
Shit shit shit shit.
"No.. actually. I don't." Killian chuckled nervously.
"You don't have to hide the lass from me." Liam chuckled. "I'd love to meet her."
You already have.
"Liam, really theres no one here." Killian sighed.
"I'll bet she's hiding in the bedroom." Liam said. "Its okay sweetheart you can come out. I don't know what my brother has told you but I don't bite."
I looked at the window in the bedroom and mentally groaned. I only put my boots on in case I'd have to escape out the window. Not because I actually wanted too. But I knew I didn't have a choice. If Liam caught us...it would be over for sure. I crept over to the window and unlocked it and pushed it up to open it and climbed out towards the fire escape. If Only i'd thought to put on my jacket just in case Killian's incredibly nosy brother showed up. It was freezing out here. I closed the window most of the way, leaving it open just a crack so I could hear when it might be safe to come back inside.
"Liam honestly no one is hiding in there!" Killian practically shrieked as the door to the bedroom opened. I sunk down below the window so I'd be out of sight but still in hearing range.
"See." Killian sighed. "No one here."
"I'm sorry Killian I honestly thought you had someone in he-" Liam stopped short and I just barely peeked into the window watching in horror as Liam picked up my bra off the bedroom floor and grinned at Killian.
"Someone was here!" He exclaimed, waving my bra around like a flag.
I put my hands over my face completely mortified. I'd never be able to look at him in algebra again. I peeked through my fingers at the scene inside the window.
"Oh bloody hell give me that!" Killian groaned and took the bra from him.
"Fine. I did have someone over, she left just before you came over and its a bloody good thing too or you'd scare the poor lass away." Killian snapped.
"Oh come now brother I was just having fun. I'm thrilled you are seeing someone! You should invite her over next month on St. Patrick's day so Ari and I can meet her." Liam said.
Oh... you do not want that. Trust me.
"I don't know Liam it's really early into things and I'd really just like to enjoy her without the pressure of meeting family. She's..really shy." Killian sighed.
She is not..
"Alright. I understand I suppose." Liam pouted. "Is..she coming back then?"
"Aye. She just went to her place to get some things she forgot." Killian said.
"Okay then, I suppose I will leave and let you two have your alone time...can I at least have her name?" Liam asked.
Killian scratched behind his ear and sighed.
"B..Britany. It's Britany.." Killian said.
I do not look like a Britany!
Liam still looked skeptical but eventually accepted his answer.
"Will you be going then?" Killian asked.
"Aye. I'll see you Monday morning Killian." Liam said.
"See you then." Killian said.
I waited until I heard the front door close before I started climbing back into the window.
"Bloody hell, you could have hid under the bed!" Killian said and helped me into the room. "You're ice cold."
"No shit." I said through chattering teeth. Killian picked up the comforter off the bed and wrapped it around me.
"That... was a really close call." I said.
"Aye. I'm so sorry about that love I figured he'd be with Ariel and Bastian today."
"It's okay." I said and shivered.
"Come on it's warmer in the living room." Killian said and lead me to the living room having me sit down on the couch
"But.. I'-"
"I know, you're hungry." Killian chuckled. "Don't worry there's plenty left Liam didn't eat much. Just get warm and I'll bring you some food."
Captain jumped up onto the couch with me and I let him into the blanket with me.
Killian came back into the room with a plate of food and set it on the coffee table and then looked at Captain and I under the blanket and smirked.
"You've come a long way from being afraid of him."
"He's grown on me." I smiled and picked up a piece of bacon and took a bite and then gave the rest of the strip of bacon to Captain.
"So the snow isn't much fun now is it?" Killian asked.
"Well.. it wasn't fun freezing on the fire escape but it's still pretty and fun when dressed properly." I shrugged.
"You'll be lucky if you don't end up sick." Killian frowned. "I'm really sorry about Liam."
"Its fine Killian.. The only thing I'm worried about is being able to look at the man in Algebra after watching him wave my bra around like a flag." I groaned.
"I'll bet that will be challenging." Killian chuckled. "Are you warming up?"
"Yes, Captain is helping." I nodded and finished off my breakfast also with Captain helping.
"So what are we doing today?" I asked.
"Well we are pretty well snowed in." Killian said. "What do you want to do today?"
"I...can think of one thing we can do." I grinned at him and stood up sauntering over to him.
"Well..we have all weekend." Killian smiled.
"Well then we should get started now." I winked and kissed him.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
After spending most of the day attached at the hips, I sat in the kitchen watching Killian make us dinner.
"Where did you learn to cook like this?" I asked.
"My mum taught Liam, Liam taught me." Killian smiled. "I haven't had a chance to really cook like this for a while. Milah was always on the go so it was mostly take out for us and Sebastian is very picky on what he will eat for dinner so it's mostly Mac and cheese when he's here."
"You could have made me mac and cheese and I would have not argued a bit." I smirked.
"I did make mac and cheese to go with the steak. It's in the oven." Killian winked.
"Marry me." I said.
Killian chuckled and leaned in and kissed me.
"Someday." He said. "How about you? Do you do any cooking?"
"David is slowly teaching me when we have time. My mom was a nurse and never home to cook and my Dad..well he tried sometimes, He didn't like me eating a lot of junk because he wanted me to stay in shape for boxing so he did try every now and then but most of the time our meals came from a box in the freezer section and if It didn't go in the microwave or the toaster, I didn't make it." I shrugged. "I lived off of meal replacement shakes, protein bars, and Stouffers. And...when my dad wasn't looking, Pop tarts and candy." I smirked.
"Your dad sounds like he wasn't easy to live with." Killian frowned.
"He just had a lot of expectations he demanded I met. Since I've been here.. I've kind of tossed all his rules aside. I eat what I want, when I want. I haven't stepped foot into a gym, I hang out with my friends more than he would ever allow...and I don't totally hate my life." I said and looked down at my hands. "For the longest time.. I thought my life in Oregon wasn't bad, I thought that, that was just how things were supposed to be and when I moved here.. And I saw that Emma never once flinched when David spoke, and she didn't have to constantly fight a losing battle for his approval...or his love I slowly realized that my life in Oregon..it wasn't normal, fathers aren't supposed to make you fight for any sort of affection. They give it freely."
Killian put his hands over mine. I looked up at his teary blue eyes, Killian barely had a relationship with his father before he left him and Liam. He knew the feeling of abandonment I felt, only.. My father was there with me the whole time I felt alone.
"I'm sorry." I said and reached up and thumbed a tear away from his eyes. "I didn't mean to upset you."
"It's okay love. I didn't mean for you to get upset either."
"I think its part of the reason we go so good together. We're two people who were dealt really shitty cards and somehow in the middle of the worst times in our lives we found each other."
"Aye." Killian smiled. "In a perfect world, I wouldn't be your History teacher and we could be together out in the open."
"You aren't always going to be my History teacher Killian. You're only my teacher until june and after that, we are free to do whatever." I said.
"I can't wait." Killian said and pressed his forehead to mine.
"Me either." I smiled.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
The first thing I noticed when I woke up the next morning was my sinuses were absolutely wrecked. My head was throbbing, and my throat felt like it was on fire.
Oh no. Blaire you can not be sick.
I groaned and rolled over and swung my legs over the side of the bed and dragged myself to the kitchen where Killian was making a more low-key breakfast of omelettes and toast.
"Good news love, they've canceled school tomorrow so we have another day if you can convince David to let you stay at Wendy's for another day." Killian said and turned around and looked at me.
"Bad news...you look like absolute hell." He frowned.
"Thanks." I said.
Killian finished cooking and turned off the stove before approaching me. He put his hands on my cheeks and winced.
"You are burning up love." He said with concern.
"I should probably go home. I don't want to get you sick and I'm a big baby when I'm sick." I said.
"Nonsense. I'm not letting you drive, you have a fever. You are staying put, and getting back into bed." He said and turned me around leading me back to the bedroom.
"What about breakfast?" I whined.
"I will bring you something just get back into bed." Killian said. I pouted at him and climbed back into bed.
"I'm sorry I'm ruining our weekend." I frowned.
"You aren't ruining anything." Killian smiled and whistled for Captain. Captain hurried into the room.
"Keep Blaire company for a bit." Killian said and pat the bed.
Captain happily jumped up on the bed and curled up next to me.
"I'll be right back." Killian said and left the room.
Killian returned shortly with a little tray and put it over my lap. There was a cup of tea, and some oatmeal and toast and a little medicine cup filled with probably cold medicine.
"I didn't think the omelettes with the peppers was a good idea for your throat. Excuse the dinosaur eggs and sprinkles in the oatmeal.. Its Sebastians." Killian chuckled.
"Never apologize for dinosaur oatmeal." I smirked and dug in.
"Don't forget the Nyquil." Killian said.
I looked at the medicine cup and scrunched my face. I loathed cold medicine. My mother had to practically chase me around the house and corner me to get me to take it.
"Oh, come on now. It will help you get some rest." Killian said.
"It tastes awful." I said.
"For like three seconds." Killian said and crossed his arms. "And it's not that bad. Its cherry flavored."
"If that's anything remotely cherry flavored, I'm batman." I scoffed.
"Take the medicine batman." Killian said and raised an eyebrow.
"Don't use the scary teacher brow with me." I said. Killian blinked at me and kept up with the eyebrow.
"Fine!" I whined "But I'm going to complain about it the whole time." I said and picked up the medicine cup and tossed it back shuddering at the bitter taste as it went down.
Cherry flavored my ass.
I chased the medicine down with the honey lemon tea and stuck out my tongue.
"Blech!" I said.
"You are worse than Sebastian, and he's 7." Killian chuckled.
"I told you I'm a big baby when I'm sick." I pouted. I finished off the oatmeal and most of the toast and put the tea on the nightstand so I could continue sipping on it, until slipping into a nyquil induced coma.
"What if your brother comes back over?" I asked.
"I told Liam to leave me alone for the weekend." Killian said. "Don't worry, our secret is safe at least for the weekend. Now he knows I'm seeing someone though so.. That could be a pain." Killian cringed.
"Well if he does come back over, and I'm dead, which given how I feel is just hours from now, please put sunglasses on me and do the Weekend at Bernies thing. It's my dying wish."
Killian laughed and shook his head.
"Blaire you have a cold. You aren't dying." He said and took the tray off my lap.
"And don't you dare let them bury me in anything pink or I swear I will haunt you and make life so inconvenient for you. All of your red pens for grading will be mysteriously gone." I said and wiggled my fingers.
"Not the red pens. Anything but the red pens." Killian said. "I think you've gone mad between the nyquil and your fever."
"Oh I'm entirely bonkers but... all the best people are." I grinned.
"Alrighty Alice, I think its time you get some rest." Killian chuckled. "I'll be right here if you need anything."
"Okay." I said and sank down against the pillows. Killian turned on the tv in the bedroom.
"Any requests?" He asked.
"Oooo ID Network, I love falling asleep to murder." I said
Killian blinked at me and put it on the investigation discovery channel so I could fall asleep to Forensic files. He walked over to the bed and leaned down and kissed me on the cheek.
"Love you." he smiled.
"Love you too...Thank you for taking care of me today."
"Anytime love." Killian said and looked at Captain. "Make sure she stays put." Killian winked. Captain put his big moosey head on my legs, which was actually more comforting than I thought it would be. Again all I was missing was Bowie on the pillow next to my head.
Maybe someday.
It usually took me forever to feel comfortable in a new place. It took me almost a year to be comfortable enough for a sleepover at Kassidy's house and it took months for me to finally settle into David and Mary-Margaret's house but here..I just felt comfortable already. I felt at home, and not just because Killian was here. I felt this way whenever I'd be at his old place, before we even got together and I'd come to the very happy conclusion that home wasn't a place for me. Killian was my home.
----------------------------------------------------------
Since school was closed, I had texted David and told him I was staying sunday night with Wendy and I'd be home this evening. I was still kind of sick, so I spent the day curled up with Killian on the couch watching netflix and eating soup. Now that it was time for me to go home, I didn't want to leave. The roads were clearing up and there would be school tomorrow so I had to go home.
I finished packing my stuff back into my duffle bag and pet Captain, who looked at me with the most pitiful puppy dog eyes I'd ever seen. I crouched down in front of him.
"Don't worry. I'll be back. I'll miss you too." I smiled and scratched behind his ears I looked up at Killian, standing in the doorway smiling at me.
"I wish you didn't have to go." He said and frowned.
"Me too." I said. "I had such a good weekend with you, even if I was sick."
"Aye. I've really enjoyed your company this weekend." Killian said. I walked over and put my arms around him and placed my head on his chest.
"I'm not ready for things to go back to normal." I said. "I wish it could just be like this."
"I know love. Soon." Killian said and pulled away to look at me. "I..have one more thing for you."
"Killian you've already given me so much this weekend." I said.
"I know. This isn't anything super fancy, just something I wanted you to have." Killian smiled and pulled something from his pocket and placed it into my hand. I looked down at the key in my palm.
"It's.. to the apartment. If you ever need a break from anything, school, home, life in general and just want to get away...you can come here. Even if I'm not home. I just wanted you to know you're welcome here. Always."
"Thank you Killian." I smiled. "This means a lot."
"Well, you mean a lot to me. I just want you to have some place...away from everything if you need it. If you're having a bad day and don't want to answer your uncles questions, you can come here."
"It's a perfect ending to a perfect weekend." I said and snuggled back into his chest.
"I wish you could stay. I mean I would make sure you got to school in the morning." Killian chuckled.
"It wouldn't look odd at all that my teacher was driving me to school." I giggled.
"In a world of our own...no." Killian said.
"We've watched entirely too much Alice this weekend." I smirked and then sighed. "I told my uncle I'd be home for dinner.. So I really have to go now." I frowned.
"Aye...I'll see you tomorrow at school."
"Aye." I smirked again failing to pull off his accent.
"You're getting better." Killian chuckled. "Text me when you get home."
"I will. Love you."
"Love you too." Killian said and leaned in and kissed me. "Drive safe."
"I will." I said and put my duffle bag over my shoulder and slowly walked out the front door.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Once I got home, I walked inside and slipped my snow boots off at the door and walked into the kitchen where David and Mary-Margaret were cooking together.
"I'm home." I said.
David turned and smiled at me.
"Welcome home. Did you have fun?"
"Yeah I did. I'm going to go put this in my room and then I'll be down for dinner."
"Okay. You can tell us about your weekend while we eat."
You do not want to know about my weekend.. Trust me
I walked up the stairs to my room and walked in and set the duffle bag down beside my bed. I scooped up Bowie and kissed him on the head.
"I missed you my little gremlin." I said. Bowie mewed and pawed at my hair that dangled in front of him. My phone pinged in my back pocket and a giggled.
"Killian is very impatient." I said and plucked my phone from pocket and shifted bowie to one arm so I could open the text. When I did my heart sank. It wasn't Killian.
