Venus has two meanings. One is the Goddess of love. The other  symbolises ambition,passion, love etc. I named the poem The Venus because I consider women to have such qualities. (And also my mom found this, so love her :-)

"Women are weak! Women are fragile!"
     "They should be burned to death for stating their desire! "
Such are the comments of soceity,
        When  women decide to stand on their feet.

Men think of us as pawns
      To use and sacrifice in a game,
What we truly are can only be defined as queens
    And chess shows that to all the narrow-minded wannabe kings.

We are strong because
      WE can bear the pain,
We are firm because
     No one can break our faith.
Tell that to the society
     Who wants to keep us caged!

Women are many things,
    But quiet! We are not,
Try to suppress, try to control
We, women, will never let you speak at all.

You think of us a flower
   Which is only for show and glow,
Next time think of the thorns
    And how easily they can cut your egoistic horns.

Foolish you are, small-minded you are,
    For thinking of tearing us women apart.
But one thing you should know and always remember,
  Kindness may be our glory but fighting injustice,
                    Our everyday story..
