I saw agony at a glance, cruelty took my chance,

    I learned to walk on glass on my first dance;

The world took a turn and took us around,

   The greenlands disappeared; Tainted grounds.

Food rations diminishing, our faces stamped by hunger,

      Prom nights were replaced by scavenger hunts, avoiding blunder;

Avoiding thorns to and fro, hiding from the night,

    The daylight wasn't enough to satisfy our fright.

What is abundance? We shall never know,

   Tears of blood overflow;

Familiar to pain, we've embraced our scars,

   We soldiers, fight to reach the Stars.
