Hey guys. I tried to portray a toxic relationship so here goes. Hope y'all like it.

I collected shards of glass from the floor,

      I took my pain and agony outside the door;

I traced the outlines of the champagne chalice,

      It held nothing but neverending malice.

The walls watched as my love was tolerated,

     I learned to live a life that was never celebrated;

Waiting to be embraced by the faith I bestowed,

     His loyalty, never to be restored.

Each passing day turned my dreams to dust,

     My strong, iron heart began to rust;

There's only so many blows my body could take,

     I kicked you out of my life for my own sake.

A year and a half, I grew stronger than before,

    You tried to enter my life through a detour;

I fought you off, my mind no longer distorted,

      I danced in the ballroom, the absence of your existence, never reported...
