Chapter 8
"What!" Kennedy's earbuds throbbed as a high pitched voice pierced through her phone. She held her phone at a distance as Sheila growled through it—it wasn't even on the loudspeaker.
"Calm down!"
"How can I even calm down when that bastard pounded on you?"
Kennedy told her about last night and it seemed Sheila and Adam left the party when they could not find her. She had called her many times but Kennedy was busy.
"He didn't poun—"
"Of course, he didn't. He was going to!"
Kennedy huffed as it had been twenty minutes she's trying to calm her down with failed attempts.
"Adam told me about Mac. I didn't know, Ken! I'm so sorry." Sheila's voice lowered and it sounded as if it was her fault.
"It's okay. I'm fine now."
Kennedy knew if Sheila had any knowledge, she would never leave her. It was funny how Sheila became an important person of her life where only a year ago, she was her rival in High Tech Coding. She became a sister and a family for her and she was glad she met her.
Her other friends from the town never called her—on the other hand, she didn't have close friends. Just classmates. From a very tender age, Kennedy had to look after her siblings which grabbed most of her time. Where other girls would engage in gossip and young love, she had stayed at home as a mother figure.
"So, who's the boy that saved you?"
Heat rushed through her body and stained her cheeks as the serious face of her flatmate came before her mind. Unconsciously her hand went to her swollen lip where Samuel left behind his traits. It was almost time, he would be coming and her body tingled.
"Samuel."
Sheila hummed, "Is there anything that I don't know about?" Her voice showed a hint of doubt.
"No!"
"Your voice is saying it, otherwise! Tell me!" Sheila demanded.
"I'm his flatmate. That's all."
"Uh... Okay. That's boring," Came from the other side of the phone and Kennedy rolled her eyes. Sheila liked to gossip and if it was about Kennedy, she would tickle her until she spilt out the truth. She was glad Sheila wasn't in front of her to see her flustered face.
"Shut up!"
"Hmm. You smell good," a husky voice said from the phone to Sheila. It was Adam. Kennedy bit her lips to refrain a smile that threatened to appear. It wasn't as if they could see her but she had confronted the horny couple before, it was embarrassing to see them so intimate in front of her eyes. They could start anywhere regardless of the time and place.
"Okay, I guess, it's time I cut the phone," she said as a chuckle left her mouth.
"Stop it, Adam!" Sheila's voice came as if she was struggling, "Ah! I'm still angry you didn't tell me sooner." Sheila grumbled while the couple engaged in a sweet fight and Kennedy thought it was time she left them alone.
"Don't worry. I'll make it up to you, tonight," Adam spoke and Kennedy chuckled. She envied them and was happy that they were perfect for each other.
"Would you guys just stop making out while I'm still on the phone?" She laughed and Sheila retorted, "Wait, Ken!"
"Adam! Mac tried to rape her!" Sheila shouted at Adam and their conversation could be heard through the device.
"Hey, he didn't try to—"
"What!" Kennedy could hear a roar from Adam. In this one year, she could gather Adam runs little on patience. And she didn't want to make the situation more complicated.
"Hey! Ken! Are you alright? For fuck's sake, I'll chop his—" Adam was cut off by an angry voice, "Shut up Adam! Children!"
"Err... Yes. I'll just kill him," he whispered-threatened.
Kennedy could not help but chuckle at the couple. They were adorable. She could just go with popcorn and they would entertain you as if you are watching 'Friends'.
"I'm fine Adam. And please don't do anything rash. I'm sure before you can kill Mac, Sheila will kill you."
He chuckled, "That's true. I've gotten myself a wildcat, after all." He added, "But really, please tell me he hadn't put his hands on you, did he?"
"No, I slapped him."
"Great! I'm surrounded by wild ladies!" Kennedy laughed at Adam's remark.
"Ken, I really thought Mac had changed. But he didn't. He was always self-destructive and a psychopath. I have always told Sheila to stay away from him and I'm telling you too."
"It's alright."
"No. It isn't. After the incident five years ago, his dad sent him on another continent. Until recently, he came back."
Well, Mac did tell her he came back recently but she didn't know anything other than that.
"Alright. We'll continue tomorrow and go get yourselves a room where your children's innocent eyes won't be harmed." They all laughed as she hung up.
No matter how much talkative Sheila was, she was an emotional wreck. Adam left the gang but he wasn't entirely free from it. Now they had twins Adam was more protective of them.
Kennedy sat against her bed thinking the past night and shivering at the same time. It felt like a fading dream. The scenes were hard to forget and it still hurt her that Mac turned out to be a psychopath. She liked him too much. If Mac hadn't hastened things, she would go for him.
She spent the whole day calling and applying for jobs with no luck. Most of them had already hired someone and the rest of them told them they'll call back. She could not ask her parents for next month's rent as they had already made it clear if she was going to a foreign country, she'd be on her own.
They were against it from the start. Like normal parents, they wanted her to settle down in their home town and probably got married to a person from there. But Kennedy wanted more. She wanted to explore and be independent on her own. Above all she wanted her parents to be proud of her and support her. Somewhere in her heart, she knew they were proud but she wanted them to stand by her not against her and finding fault at every turn she made. It was the reason she hadn't mentioned that she lost her last job. It would only make them say that they were right and she wanted to prove them wrong.
She heard a noise which snapped her out from her thoughts as she stood up. She went to the drawing-room and saw a shirtless individual standing with a knife as he cut through some vegetables.
"What are you doing?" Kennedy asked.
Samuel turned, his muscles flexed with him and he shrugged, "Making dinner?"
"Why shirtless?" He was in his jeans and his taut body teased her as she tried to deny the effects it had on her.
"Because after our dinner, I'll be starting what I left today. "
She bit her lips as his gaze followed it, "Stop biting your lips if you don't wanna go to bed in an empty stomach."
He started chopping the onions as her shameless eyes took him in and she asked, "Why the privilege all of a sudden?"
"Well, I thought I should treat you before your—" his eyes washed over her body making her weak in the knees, "—punishment."
"What punishment?" She raised a brow, challenging him again. She knew what he was referring to.
He stopped and his eyes became intense and the fire in them perked up. A smirk formed on his lips as his fingers gazed on the sharp end of the knife. Kennedy didn't let him intimidate her this time.
"You're really asking for it."
"Am I?" Kennedy teased and the temperature rose.
Samuel took long strides and within seconds, he reached her crossing the kitchen slab and the knife in his hand.
He pointed the knife at her neck touching the delicate skin with its point. One movement and blood would spill out. Both of their gazes stayed at each other, unwavering. Her chest rose with excitement as the point of the knife slowly headed towards her cleavage. The cold metal left its touch but didn't cut her skin. Samuel leaned closer to her ear as she expected goosebumps on her skin instead she felt small lightning bolts rushing through her body.
"I swear I'm going to fuck you hard on this slab until you faint. So, for the last time, stop getting on my nerves and tell me, what would you like to have for dinner?"
"You?"
Everything paused. No one blinked, not even taking their breaths. Kennedy never expected the answer that left from her lips without thinking. Samuel's eyes darkened and it inflicted a raw desire within him as if something had awakened. It made Kennedy bite her bottom lip and it made Samuel tear off that white gown she had worn.
"Wrong answer."
Kennedy took a sharp breath as he turned her around and tore her lingerie. She didn't care if it was the only expensive lingerie she had. The desire she felt was beyond her imagination as she never thought she could be so vulgar. She had expected herself to be a shy type of person but whenever Samuel was around, she only wanted him. She didn't care if anyone would comment on her character as if it wasn't her. She couldn't stop the shiver when Samuel bent her over the slab pushing down every utensil from it. The room echoed with the sound of the bowls, spoons and vegetables falling on the tarmac.
He grabbed a fistful of her hair and pulled. A moan escaped from her lips and he adjusted himself behind her and thrust. Sweat covered both of them in a duvet as he kept thrusting hard. Her body felt like she was on the boiler and her breath shook.
Samuel growled behind her as he caught her neck with his free hand. He squished and she choked. It was hard to breathe and she felt her heart come up to her mouth.
As she panted and moaned, her stomach tightened and her insides clenched around his manhood. His thrusts were rough, hard and unbearable. But she wanted it. She wanted more.
"I want more," she mewed.
As if it stirred up Samuel and he became more aggressive. Each thrust he gave her, she took it and she moaned in anticipation as if her body was made for only him.
Her legs trembled and she wanted to touch him. Take him all to herself. She felt greedy. But it felt so good that she didn't care if it was wrong.
Her phone rang and it tore the moment they were in and both of them felt annoyed.
"Fuck! Who is it?" Samuel snarled.
"I don't know." Kennedy didn't want to go over the table and see who was calling so she said, "Ignore it."
As the phone went silent, they reached their climax. Samuel leaned on her shoulders, his hands loosened around her neck and held her waist for support as he panted.
"I have to cut the vegetables again," Samuel said and she giggled.
She turned around and stood on her toes to reach his lips and planted a bite. "Do clean the kitchen while you're at it or you know, what you're asking for..."
A smirk formed on Samuel's lips and he bit back her lips causing her to whimper, "Try me."
And her phone rang again as Samuel groaned, "You know, your phone is pretty annoying."
She giggled in her reply and went for her torn up gown.
Damn! She had saved money to buy that material. She thought and wrapped it around her as she approached her phone.
It was an unknown number. She picked it up. "Hello?"
"Kennedy. It's Mac."
Her hands shook as the images flashed before her eyes. She took a deep breath and asked, "What do you want?"
"Nothing! I'm sorry. I was—I was so drunk that I lost it. Please, you don't have to leave work. Come back from Monday." Mac's voice sounded guilty.
"I'll see."
"No—wait! Please come at least... Let me take an apology. "
Samuel looked at her as he placed their plates and she took a glance at him while wondering what should she do? Should she forgive him? Maybe he had lost it for a moment.
"I'll call you later." She hung up.
"Mac?" Samuel asked.
She nodded.
"What did he say?"
"Apologizing."
He nodded and Kennedy noticed he had worn his bottoms already and she went to change before Samuel called out, "Try not to wear something expensive, next time." And she shook her head while chuckling to herself.
