Chapter Twenty Six

"What's a comatose?" inquired Cassia.

"It's a coma," Dahlia said as if in a tired trance.

"It's one of the many sectors of the ghost world," said Firenze.

"Wait - I'm going to a ghost world?" squeaked Cassia.

"It would seem so," said a voice from behind them. All three people turned around. It was Professor Jenkins. The professor messed her hair, running a hand through short locks.

"H-hello professor," Dahlia stuttered. She supposed the Professor had heard everything.

Jenkins smiled. "Hello Miss Wood. I must ask what you are doing up at this time of night?"

Cassia and Dahlia exchanged worried looks. Being out and about after curfew was not to be taken lightly among the administration.

"She was worried about me," Cassia said. "She had a nightmare, and I came here to prove to her that there was nothing to be worried about, Professor."

"Well, we have larger matters to attend to," the Professor said, "Please, go to bed. I would hate to give detention to my favorite students."
"Yes, professor," they chorused before heading back to the Ravenclaw commons. Cassia muttered something, tasting the word, favorite. She had never been a favorite anything, not a favorite child, nor sibling. Dahlia couldn't help but feel sorry for her friend.

And though Cassia eventually was sucked into a peaceful slumber, Dahlia tossed and turned all night worrying about her friend. Dahlia and Cassia had always stuck together. She didn't want that to stop.
Sorry for the short chapter!
