Dealing With Kuwei

Jesper's POV

He and Wylan walked out into the courtyard when the bell went, not wanting a run in with their teachers. They saw Kaz already sitting there which made him confused as they left before everyone else went out.

"Did you skip class too or something?" Jesper asks, sitting down next to Kaz, patting the spot next to him for Wylan. "You know I'm not bothered to go into class. The teachers leave me alone now." Jesper huffs. "You're lucky." Wylan sits and stares at Kaz.

"Yes?" Kaz asks eventually, looking at Wylan. "Was I... um, good enough on the mission?" He asks nervously, ready to hide behind Jesper if need be. "Adequate. You'll do better next time, I trust." Wylan looks at Kaz with a surprised expression. "I'm allowed to go again next time?" Kaz nods.

"My wraith told me what happened though, when we left." Wylan goes red, umm she did?" Kaz nods again, holding his expert poker face so Jesper wouldn't know what his boss is really thinking. "Yeah, when someone was trying to get Jesper because he's grisha. What did you think I was talking about?"

Wylan's mind goes blank as he tries to hide his face. "Wait what else happened?" Kaz demanded, looking between Jesper and Wylan. Jesper was holding a similar blank face as he tried to keep the secret, but Wylan was banging his head on the table.

Jesper ends up stopping Wylan by holding his head back. "Nothing else happened, well Wylan did save me. Quite literally." Jesper responds dimly. "Very well." Kaz goes back to staring at nothing. Wylan's hand finds Jesper's under the table again and they link, just as Nina and Inej show up. Nina sits down opposite to Wylan, unaware of the two boys holding hands, but Inej picks up on it like a moth to a flame.

She says nothing though, and her expression remains the same as she sits beside Kaz, close, but not too close. Jesper had always suspected there was something between them. The Fjerdan came in and sat next to Nina, who simply turned the other way. Jesper clearly heard Wylan sigh in disappointment, so he squeezed Wylan's hand in reassurance.

In the corner of his eye, Jesper saw Kuwei lurking around the entrance to the courtyard, staring right at Wylan. "Um guys, I'm gonna be right back." Jesper quickly says, separating his hand from Wylan's and walking off towards Kuwei. He felt Wylan's gaze on him, but he ignored it as he had something he had to do.

"Hello Jes!" Kuwei says in an overly sweet tone. "How's Van Eck?" Jesper snarls at Kuwei's statement, taking him by his arm and dragging him somewhere. "Ooh, where you are taking me?" Jesper doesn't respond, Jesper doesn't care of the stares he's getting, he doesn't care how ecstatic Kuwei was about being taken somewhere by Jesper. He only cared about keeping his perfect Wylan safe.

They arrive at a secluded place within the school where no one was. Jesper turned around to a smiling Kuwei. "I knew we would happen, eventually!" He walks closer to Jesper but he holds Kuwei back, putting a hand on his head, pushing him into a wall.

"Didn't I tell you not to ever look at Wylan again? I saw you staring at him. I don't want to do this, but you are going to disappear whether you like it or not." Jesper snarls angrily, bearing his teeth at Kuwei, who visibly shrunk.

"But we can still kiss?" Kuwei made a kissing noise and Jesper swallowed the rising bile. "I would never kiss something as horrible and ugly as you. Besides, I won't cheat on my boyfriend like that." "Sure, you have a boyfriend." Kuwei rolls his eyes, still trying to kiss Jesper.

"I really do. I really am going out with Wylan Van Eck, you could ask him, but you won't be alive long enough to do so." Jesper shouts, looking back to the doorway, relieved that no one was there. Jesper unsheathed his gun from its holster and aimed it at Kuwei's head.

"Normally, you'd just be irritating, and I'd be unbothered to do anything, but not anymore. You hurt him, you tormented him, and kept stalking him when I said FUCK OFF!" Jesper yells and readies the gun with a click. Kuwei gulps and starts sweating bullets.

"No more last warnings. Have your last words..." Jesper shouts and shoots the gun, exploding Kuwei's head, blood and shattered bone going everywhere. The gunshot wasn't too loud, Inej and Nina had tempered with it to make it quieter, and gods bless them. no one heard the gunshot. But he did fish the bullet out of Kuwei's smushed head, so no one could go searching. He walked out, making sure no one saw him as he went back to the courtyard.
