~ Jade's P.O.V~

" Well, my name is Jake " He smiles.
" I'm Jade " I reply.
" I know you're a werewolf " He points out.
" So are you " I say.
" And you're my mate " He adds.

I don't know what to say. I don't know anything except his name, but I plan to find out.

" What pack are you from? " I ask, changing the subject.

Either way, I do have to change packs and move to his anyway. Might as well know where I'm going.

" The Sunset Pack " Jake answers.

My eyes go big and I jump off the top of the boulder.

The Sunset Pack.

The one that killed my parents.

" What's wrong? " Jake asks and he jumped off the boulder as well. " Wait, what pack are you from? " He asks.
" The Moonlight Pack " I answer.
" What are your parents ranks? " He asked hesitantly.
" They WERE Alpha and Luna " I replied.
" Oh " Jake mumbled.
" You're pack killed them, why? " I asked.
" I honestly don't know. I was a small kid when my father made that decision " He answered.
" You're the Alphas son " I mumbled.
" I am " He agrees.

He walks towards me. I don't move, I didn't know what to do.

" I can promise you this. The person who did that to your parents are dead. " Jake says.

I don't say anything back. I wouldn't know what to say to that.

" Quick question " Jake says.
" Go ahead " I reply quietly.
" When are you going to tell your brother about us? " he asked.
" How do you know about him? " I asked.
" I could hear you and your sisters conversation" Jake answered.
" Mind reader? " I joked.
" No. It was probably the mate bond " Jake said.
" Oh yeah " I mumbled.

We both didn't say anything after. We stood in the woods in silence.

I looked up and Jake and saw his eyes go from mine, to my lips, and back to my eyes again. He slowly leaned in to kiss me but I turn so he kissed my cheek. I know he is my mate and all but I cant trust him yet. I don't know what is a lie and what is the truth.

" Why did you do that! " Emma screamed at me.
" Because I did " I said back.
" You don't trust him. You're thinking about our parents death " She says quietly.
" It's the logical thing to do! Not just jump into his waiting arms like nothing is wrong in the world! " I yelled.
" Jade it's in the past. I know its hard to get over but they would want you to live your life and be happy. " Emma said.

Then I hear two voices inside my head.

" She doesn't trust us " I hear one voice say.

It had to be Jake talking to his wolf. That's probably the logical reason. It has to be the mate bond forming between us.

" She doesn't, but her wolf does " says the other voice.
" So? " I hear Jake ask.
" So, if her wolf trusts us then she will eventually agree with her wolf. They are like the same person. " his wolf says.
" Jay, they are different. Take the trust issue for an example " Jake replied.

So his wolfs name is Jay.

I decided to talk back, cause why not.

" We may not always agree but me and my wolf are almost the same person " I said to them.
" Why are you listening? " Jake asks.
" Because I can hear it and it's hard to not listen when you two are talking about me and my wolf " I answered.
" Someone sassy " Jake's wolf says.
" So? " Em reply's.
" Great now all four of us are talking " Jake says.
" Deal with it " me and Em said in sync.

I could feel Jake's wolf become happy.

" Jake, what's with your wolf? " I asked.
" His wolf is happy about us. " Em says to me
" Why? " I asked.
" Because you are talking and it means you are ok with them " she said back.
" I don't hate them, I just don't trust them " I said.
" Yet " Jake and his wolf said.
" Stop listening " I say, mimicking Jake.
" Deal with it " Jake and his wolf said in sync, mimicking me and Emma.

Me and Jake looked at each other and start laughing. I could hear his wolf and mine laughing too.

" We are so weird " I say to all of them.
" We? " Jake asks.

I look at him and he is smiling.

" Knock it off Jake " I spoke.
" No " he says. " Jade, I know you don't trust me. I wouldn't trust me either if I was you but all I'm asking for is a chance. One chance to prove to you that I'm not a horrible person " Jake adds.

I look at him and see him smiling down at me.

" Stupid tall person " I mumbled.

Jake laughed before bending down to my height. I laughed too and I knew my answer to his question.

" Ok. I'll give you a chance " I smile.
" Thank you Jade. I promise I wont mess it up " Jake smiled back.

Suddenly I look around and see it is slowly getting darker.

" What time is it? " I asked alarmed.

Jake looks down at his wrist - where a watch is- and looks at the time.

" It's four " Jake answers.
" I'm so dead " I say before running back to school.

When I get to school I look around and see Ruby had taken my car.

" What's wrong? " Jake asked.
" School ended over and hour ago and my sister took my car! " I yelled.
" Relax, I'll give you a ride back home " Jake said.
" Thank you " I sighed.

We both got in his car and Jake began driving away from Hell.

" Where do you live? " Jake asked.
" It's a house in the woods. Just take ninety second and I'll tell you where to go from there " I replied.

We arrived at my house at four twenty. James was so about to kill me.

" Thanks for the ride " I say to Jake.
" No problem " He says back.

Jake kissed my cheek and I blush. I quickly get out of the car and slowly open my front door.

" WHERE WERE YOU? " James yelled as soon as I stepped inside.
" Out " I said.
" Where and with who? " he asked.
" The woods " I answered.
" I felt you leave during school, and the wolf left too. Tell me everything now " James demanded.

I could tell James was really pissed at me.

" Fine but you can't say anything " I said.
" Maybe " James replied.

" Ruby! " I yelled.
" Yes? " She called from upstairs.
" Come down here, I need your help " I replied.
" You're telling him aren't you? " she asked as she came down the stairs.
" Yep " I answered.

We all headed to the living room and sat down. Me and Ruby sat down next to each other on the couch while James sat down on one of the chairs. Ruby grabbed my hand for reassurance and nodded at me. I took a deep breath before telling James everything. About how I met Jake, when we went to the woods and that he is my mate.

After I finished explaining I looked at James. His eyes were glowing bright gold. Just great, now he's even more angry.

" What pack is he from? " James asked.

If I told him I knew he would snap and try to find Jake but I also knew he would snap if I didn't tell him. I knew it would be better just to tell him.

" Relax or I won't tell you " I said.
" TELL ME NOW! " James yelled.

I stood up and walked closer to the door. I knew I would have to beat him to Jake. The second I told James he would hunt Jake down.

" Jake? I mind linked him.
" That's me " Jake replied.
" Where are you? This is urgent " I said.
" My house. Why? What's wrong? " He said back.
" Where is that? " I asked.
" It's in the woods. Around 5 miles from your house " Jake answered.
" I have to find you before my brother " I replied.
" Oh you're telling him " Jake said.

Jake then started to count down.

" Three "

I took and deep breath.

" One "

" The Sunset Pack " I told James.

He growled loudly and I ran. I ran outside and shifted.

" Emma find him " I said to her.
" On it " She replied as she took over.

We ran as fast as we could until we found Jake's house. I could sense that James was catching up to me. Jake ran outside with a pile of extra clothes in his hand. He threw me a large shirt and I shifted and put it on. I grabbed Jake and pulled him inside, slamming the door shut.

I could tell my eyes were now glowing gold as well. I was pissed but also had something to do. Protect Jake from my brother.

Suddenly I heard a loud and angry howl.

" James " I growled.

I looked at Jake and saw his eyes were gold too. I grabbed his hand and we ran outside. We both quickly shifted into our wolves as James came into view with Ruby following close behind. James growled as he saw Jake next to me. He was about to attack when I jumped at him first. I crashed into James and he flew and slammed into a tree. James got up and stared at me as I growled at him. He kept trying to get closer to Jake but I would push him away each time.

After a few more failed tries James gave up. I threw him a pair of shorts and he shifted back into his human. I saw cut al over his body but I didn't feel bad. I knew he would heal fast thanks to werewolf healing and plus he tried to hurt my mate, so I hurt him. Ruby grabbed a shirt and shifted back as well.

I felt a hand on my back and I looked up and saw Jake standing beside me in a pair of shorts. I was still really angry but I calmed down because Jake was there. Jake passed me a shirt again and I quickly shifted back.

" You did the right thing. You protected our mate " Em said to me.

I somewhat felt happy. James was our packs best fighter and I just beat him. I walked over to James and stood in front of him.

" You ever try and hurt my mate again and I will hurt you. Brother or not " I growled.
" Fine, you will protect him but lets see if he will protect you " James smirked.

James suddenly shifted again before throwing me into a nearby tree. I looked up to see Jake shift as well and attack James.

Then, everything went black.
