Bella's pov
I feel the fear overwhelming my body. I feel myself as I sink further and further from the surface. I see my life pass before my eyes. Is this the end? Is this how I die? In my last moment, as I am struggling for the air my body so desperately needed, I see something coming toward me. Is it not enough that I am drowning but something has to come for me too. As the thing is approaching me...
I suddenly am awoken gasping for breath with tears running from my eyes. Another nightmare. I hear my alarm blaring from my nightstand. Time to start my first day at my new school. I get up kinda sluggishly and get in the shower. When I am done I put on a pink shirt with blue Jean shorts. I add some accessories and do my hair into a waterfall braid. There, not to bad.

I go down stairs to eat a quick breakfast. "Hey, sweetheart. Ready for your first day?" My mom says looking up from cooking. "As ready as I will ever be. I hate being the new kid." "I know but you will do great. Now sit down and eat breakfast before you're late." When i am almost done eating my brother comes stumbling down the stairs. "Hurry up Blake or we will be late." After eating we get in our car and head to school. Going in the front doors of the school was not like they say it's like in most books. No one stopped to stare at us like we were intruders in their school. In fact no one acknowledged us at all. After a while of roaming the halls we find the office and get our schedules. We have first, third, fifth, and sixth together. When we get to class I am super nervous. I have always been super self-conscious. I hate the fact that I always let people's words get to me but when the same words are thrown your way enough times you start to believe them. I take a breath and look beside me at my brother. "It's okay Bella I am here. Now let's go in there and get this school day over with." I nod laughing softly. My brother knew about the kids bullying me at our old school. He would always stand up for me though and it helped they stopped for a little while. They didn't stop for long though. They just learned to only say and do things to me when he wasn't around. Any ways back to the present. I turn the nob and we walk in. Everyone looked up including the teacher. "Hi, you must be Bella and Blake. Welcome to Emerson High." I smile shyly and we both say, "Thanks." Then take our seats. I take out my notebook and start taking notes when someone inter ups me. "Hi, I'm Mason."
His eyes were so hypnotizing. They were a soft blue. His hair was a nice shade of brown and you could practically see his abs through the thin shirt he had on. A soft smile was etched on his face as he looked at me.
"I'm Bella. Nice to meet you."
"So where did you guys move here from."
"Indiana. My mom got a better job opportunity here. So we all had to move here."
"Oh. Well you will love it here its always warm and there's a beach. What could be better?" He said teasingly. I flinch when he says beach. I am terrified of the ocean since the accident.
"Mason. Bella. No talking!" Yells the teacher. We went quiet. After that and my classes seemed to fly by. Suddenly it was time for lunch. My brother and i got out of our 5th hour class and headed to lunch. On our way to lunch I bumped into someone and started to fall. Thank goodness they caught me before I could hit the ground. I looked up to see none other than Mason. His hands are right on my bruised back though and I grimace.
"Sorry for running into you and thanks for not letting me fall."
"No need to be sorry it was my fault too. Are you okay?"
"Yes I am fine I was in an accident and hurt my back pretty good. Your hands where just touching some of the bruises but I am thankful you caught me."
"Sorry." He said sadly like me being in pain puts a physical toll on him. "Would you want to sit with me and my friends at lunch?"
"Considering I don't really know anyone but you, sure as long as my brother can come too." I said. "Sure no problem. Your Blake, right?" My brother just nodded. "Im Mason. Its nice to meet you." Mason held his hand out to my brother and they shook hands. "Nice to meet you too. Thanks for saving my cluts of a sister." Mason laughed and we walked in a comforting silence on the way to the cafeteria. When we got there we got burgers and fries and went to his table.
"Hey guys, this is Bella and her brother Blake. They are new here. Bella. Blake. This is Noah, Claire, Grace and Jake."
I waved to all of them and said "hello it's nice to meet you all."
Claire had a huge smile on her face and said "yay someone else to go shopping with."I just laughed.
We all made small talk and I really got to know them all. It turns out Claire and Noah are dating and Grace and Jake are too. They all seemed to except us into their group which I was excited about. The bell rang and we all got up to go to the art class since we all had that class together. I loved drawing and painting so I was so excited to go to art class. After everyone was seated the teacher began speaking.
"Okay class today I am going to let you draw whatever you want, as long as it is school appropriate, in your sketchbooks for the class period."
So I got out my sketchbook and did a drawing of an adult wolf with angel wings on its back and a pup sitting next to it with the same wings. I love wolves and I am an angel so I thought this would be a cool sketch. It turned out pretty good if I do say so myself.

Mason looked over at my drawing with what looked like shock.
"Wow, Bella that is really good. I didn't know you could draw like that." I blushed.
"Thanks. We did just meet today. There is going to be stuff you don't know about me."
"Ya I guess your right. We need to do something about that though. How about we play question and answer."
"Okay but you start."
"Umm how about we start with the basics favorite color? Mines green."
"Aquamarine is mine. Do you have any hobbies? Mine are drawing and painting."
"I love sports, music, and playing video games. Favorite animal?"
"Wolves."
"Why?"
"Hey it was my turn but if you must know I just like them because they are so beautiful , strong, and free. They are amazing animals."
He smiled at my answer and the questions went on and on for the whole class period. Soon the day ended and it was time to go home. Before I left though Mason and I exchanged numbers.
