Chapter Thirteen
🐯Sophie's P.O.V.🐯
After last night I wake up smiling. Sure, the headmaster had come in and scolded me, but I didn't care about any of that. Connor had kissed me. That's what I care about.
I hear Trish and Lily talking outside my door and decide to let them in. "Well good morning girls." I say as I open the door.
Trish turns to look at me and smiles. "Morning. It's time for you to explain last night." Well she cut to the point.
I lead her over to my bed and she sits down. "Now, when I say this, I want you to promise not to tell anyone else." She nods. "Alright. I'm going to say this slowly. My wolf is not a wolf. She's a tiger." Trish turns to Lily expecting her to laugh, but she doesn't.
Trish's eyes look back at mine and they're clouded with confusion. "A tiger?" Are the only words she can muster.
"Yes, a tiger, or well tigress. She's very adamant about being called a tigress." I point out.
Trish shakes her head. "I don't believe you." Her arms cross over her chest and she glares at me because she thinks I'm lying.
I roll my eyes and let my tiger take over. Just as always, my tigress stands in front of them. Lily looks completely calm while Trish is shocked and backing away. "What the hell?!" I sit down and lick my paws. When Trish notices that I'm not hostile she chills out. "You knew about this?" She asks Lily. Lily only nods and looks at me. "How? You were beside me the entire night."
Lily nods again. "Yeah, I was, but I've known this bit of information since Sophie first shifted. I was there when it happened. I was spending the night with her and she shifted in the middle of her yard while we were playing." Trish nods. The first shift is always randomly placed. It just depends on when you're ready.
"Well." Trish runs a hand through her hair. "That's a lot of information to process, I mean, you're a tiger, obviously." She pauses. "How?"
Lily takes this question too. "The Sun Goddess chooses one girl every one hundred years to become a tigress. They're extremely powerful and they normally break off from their pack, kind of making their own from those that are close to them. I've already accepted that I'll probably be part of this split off group. I've been friends with her since we were kids. I'm definitely a candidate." I nod my feline head and Trish immediately turns to me.
"So, how's it feel? To be a tigress that is." I can't answer her because I can't talk but I nod at her. "Oh yeah, forgot, sorry. You can tell me later." A rasping comes from my window and there's Connor, hanging like a monkey. "Holy shit!" Trish runs to the window. "Go! We could be naked!"
Connor only looks around her at me. I nudge past Trish and use my mouth to unlock the window. Connor climbs through seconds later and slowly closes the window. "I see you showed her." He scratches the top of my head and the tingles make me purr. I know, typical cat.
"You know? Does everyone know before me?" Trish waves her hands in the air dramatically.
Connor laughs. "I'm her mate Trish. Chill." Trish stares at him with her mouth wide open.
"I knew I was the perfect match maker. I put the two of you together before the two of you even knew you should be together." She crosses her arms over her chest and smirks at us. I lay down at Connor's feet and he lowers himself to me.
"You should shift back. Get some clothes on." Connor says quietly. "I think you've made your point to Trish." I nod and stand up. He turns his back to me and I shift. I had taken his shirt off before I had shifted and placed it over my body. It covers down to my mid thigh. I walk over to my dresser and pull out panties and a pair of shorts before slipping them on.
"Alright. You can turn around now." I say to Connor.
Seeing me in his shirt obviously has an effect on him because he growls approvingly. "Girls, can I have a minute with my mate?" He asks without taking his eyes off of me.
Trish and Lily look at me. "Um, no." Trish says pointedly. "I really don't feel like hearing her lose her virginity."
I gape at her but he let's out a laugh. "That won't happen until she's ready. I just want a moment alone with her. She is my mate. Aren't I allowed a moment with her?" Trish looks at Lily who, in turn, looks at me. I nod and Lily grabs Trish's arm.
"Fine, but we will be standing right outside the door. No funny business!" Trish tells us as she is dragged out.
The door closes and I turn to look at Connor. I cross my arms over my chest, not quite sure what he wants to talk about. "So what's up? Why the early visit?" I ask.
Connor sits on the bed and pats the space beside him. I walk over and sit down. "I bumped into your brother last night. I came up with a half true explanation as to why I smelt like you. He bought it, but only slightly. You need to tell him the truth, and I don't think I should be there. I really don't have a death wish." I laugh as he gets nervous.
"My brother won't kill you. You really should be there though. It'd be better to tell him with you there so he doesn't hunt you down. He'll think you're scared cause you did something wrong." He nods slowly. "Like that you mated with me." He looks at me really scared.
"Oh goddess." He puts his face in his hands. "I'm so dead. If he thinks I did that then he'd have my head before I even got out an explanation." I laugh at his nervousness.
"My point exactly. You should come with me." He shakes his head.
"I.. I can't. I have something to, er, do." I raise an eyebrow at him.
"And what does this something entail?" I ask, ready for an explanation.
"Well, I'm going for a run with the boys on the football team and if I bail they'll think I'm whipped." I cross my arms.
"You'd rather be hunted down by my brother. That's fine. I'll just tell him that you took me without my permission and then rejected me." His eyes widen and his jaw drops.
"You wouldn't, right?" I raise an eyebrow. "I'd be dead! Do you really want your mate to die when he did nothing wrong?" I keep a steady face and he runs his hands through his hair. "Fine!"
"Good, just so you know, I always get my way." I kiss his cheek and stand up just to have arms wrap around my waist.
"Oh no you don't. Come here." I squeal out and he starts to tickle me. In a swift movement he has me under him and is tickling the daylights out of me.
"Stop!" I laugh. "P..people are...g..g..gonna..th..ink some..thing wrong is g..going on!" He doesn't stop, he just keeps tickling. I struggle underneath him but his tickling leaves me unable to fight back.
"Say, Connor always gets what he wants because he is the best and strongest wolf in this school." I giggle underneath him as he doesn't stop his onslaught.
"Connor always gets what he wants because he is the best and strongest wolf in this school!" I spit it out and he lifts his fingers off of me.
I prop myself up on my forearms and he smiles. "Now that's what I like to hear." He kisses my cheek then gets off of me.
"You may be the strongest wolf, but I'm the strongest tigress." I say as he's lifting his legs off of my bed.
"I'd love to argue, but I have boys to lie to." He smirks. "I'll meet you outside in twenty." I nod and he climbs out of my window.
Trish opens the door. "Well that sounded eventful. Have fun?"
I huff loudly. "No, he tickled the shit out of me."
Trish laughs then sits beside me. "Well, it sounds like you two have a date in twenty minutes."
"Yeah a date where my brother may kill him." I say with a look at the window.
Trish shrugs. "You can always bring up the fact that he hasn't told your parents about his mate. That should shut him up."
I look over at her a little surprised. "That is brilliant, I will have to use that."
She shrugs. "I have a brain for a reason Sophie. I like to use it for things other than matchmaking sometimes." She smiles at me and stands up. "Well, I will leave you be. You have a date to get ready for." I stick my tongue out at her and she laughs. "You love me!" She yells before leaving my room.

⏳Hunter's P.O.V.⏳ (weren't expecting that, were you?)
I've been watching the building where her scent is strongest for hours, hoping she'd show. Nothing. It's still early morning though. I suppose that she isn't awake yet. I see a guy running up to the back of the building. He starts scaling the house while checking if anyone is watching. He gets to a window and waits for a few seconds. The window opens and he rushes in. Her scent hits me and I nod. That's her room. No doubt about it. Now I can set up patrols to watch her.
"Hunter!" I turn to see a younger member running towards me named Dylan.
"Yeah? What is it?" My eyes turn back to the house, checking for her.
"They found something." I sigh.
"Alright. I'll be there soon. Set up a post here. She lives in this building." He looks at the building as he walks up beside me.
"May I ask a question sir?" I glance at him then nod. "What is she?"
"She's a tigress. Gifted by the Sun Goddess. Very rare, and she's in a lot of danger." I remember my great grandfather speaking about his mate. She was a tigress. I feel connected to this girl, and even though I'm just a rogue I'm going to protect her like my great grandmother was.
Dylan nods watching the house. "Who would want to hurt her? She seems so sweet." Ever since we saw her, we have all become more docile. Less like the animals we had let begin to control us.
"She is sweet. Tigresses are selfless and they care for everyone. They are like a Luna to the entire world. She can stop wars before they start." My ears listen to squealing coming from her room. Immediately I perk up. Is that guy hurting her? The squealing stops and a few seconds later the boy comes out of her window. "Stay here. I'm going to check something."
I follow the boy as he runs behind the house and towards another close by. When he's in a hidden area I snatch him and throw him to the ground. "What the hell?!" He screeches.
"Did you just hurt the girl in that room?" I glare down at him and he looks at me as if I just insulted his life's work.
"She is my mate! I would never hurt her!" The boy yells as he stands up.
"Then why was she squealing?" He turns to look at the house.
"I was tickling her." He turns back to me, honesty in his eyes.
I get out of the fighting stance I was in before and glare at him. "If I find out that you're lying, I'll kill you." He looks at me confused. "I have promised to protect her, and I will. Even if it's from you."
He crosses his arms. "Who says that I shouldn't be protecting her from you? You're the rogue here. I'm an Alpha born." He stands up straight. I don't care. Alpha borns go down just as easy as regular wolves.
"I've known some nasty Alphas in my life. I don't tend to trust them." He rolls his eyes at me. Little punk.
"Look, I'm her mate. You can trust me around her. I promise." The kid puts his hands at his sides. "I have the clothes you gave to her. I was going to find you guys, but it seems you found me first."
I look at him warily. "She gave them to you?"
"Yes. They're in my room. I wanted to find the weird men that bowed to her in the woods for no reason." He said. So he doesn't know. Interesting.
"She is special. We have all decided to protect her." I say.
"How many is all? Just asking." He says.
"None of your business." He nods.
"Of course. Why are you here in the first place? This is Werewolf academy. You shouldn't even be a hundred miles within this place." I looked around. There was no way I'd know this was the Werewolf academy unless he had told me.
"I didn't know that's what this place was. And we wandered here. The Moon goddess probably lead us here to protect the tigress." I say, forgetting he doesn't know.
"Don't call her that. No one else but a few of us know. Her name is Sophie." Oh, so he does know.
"Sophie, alright. I will call her that from now on. I should warn you, we are putting a patrol on her. Hurt her and you will regret it."
"How many times do I have to tell you this? I'm not going to hurt her." He's persistent, but I'm not just going to take his word for it.
"I will be watching." I say before running back into the woods. I watch as he shakes his head and walks towards the house he was heading to originally.
He heads in then comes back out after a few minutes. He checks his watch then begins to walk back to Sophie's house. I follow him while staying in the cover of the woods. This time he goes to the front door and walks in. A short while later he comes out and she's right beside him. Her arm is wrapped in his and they smile at each other. At least she seems happy. If he had hurt her earlier she wouldn't look so happy to see him. I decide to stop following them and head back to my men.
Dylan has a set of men watching the house and he's watching over them. "Dylan." He turns to see me and bows respectfully.
"Hunter, sir. I set up the patrol like you asked. There is also a patrol following her around." I nod.
"Good, now show me what they found earlier." I say to him.
Dylan nods. "Yes sir. Follow me please." He walks further into the trees. Eventually I see a small cabin. "It's small, but it will work."
I nod at it. "It will be fine. The men just need a place to sleep." He nods and I head into it.
It's a small wooden cabin, barely bigger than a wooden tool shed. There was a desk and the rest was free floor space. It wasn't much for comfort, but it was enough. Dylan sticks around until I dismiss him.
Sophie isn't safe at this school. There are too many Alphas in one place. As soon as we can, we'll get her out of there.
