Prologue

Its been about three months since the whole Ein incident. Werewolves were now casually living in New Growler. And for the most part, there was peace. Despite the war that was raging just outside their homes. Now everyone knew that Stacy and Dan were Werewolves. Oliva practically broke down when she heard that Axl was dead and was a werewolf. No one spoke of Romeo's betrayal, or Aiden running away with Gill.

Every now and again Ashton would stop by and give news to Lukas and everyone else about the war. Moon Moon, Dawson (Goldendoodlegamer11), and Julia (Jules_Writer_Fangirl) would always ask Ashton if he could fly them around, but he always said, "It's too dangerous out there." Though Jules and Dawson were always persistent. Then Cassie would have to pull the kids away from the dragon as he left to visit Tao.

The Rouge Dragon village was in constant alert. Stormmover was fortifying the village borders, Raindrop would sooth the inhabitants, and Tao would spend hours if not days in the Prophecy Cave. Only being reminded to eat and sleep with the help of Ruby (DragonNadder), who was now her sister apparently. Ruby would train the Rouges how to fight and defend themselves if an attack ever came. Unfortunately, it seemed likely.

Ashton was the only male dragon allowed into the village because he told Stormmover about helping the same group of humans and how he is willing to help in any way he can. He would come often bringing news about the war. Yet he never knew that he was one of the new pillars. Just like how Moon Moon, Dawson, Julia, and Cassie never knew they were also pillars.

The sun was going down, hiding under the far away yet so close mountains. Stampy was resting on Stacy's front porch and chuckled as he watched Dan get pushed into the barn. Another punishment for hanging out with the other Werewolves instead of doing work. He noticed Lizzie walking by, giving a quick glance before walking away. She's been doing that a lot lately, he thought, I hope everything's alright.

But he was snapped out of his thoughts when Stacy sat down to the left of him. "How many times do I have to tell you to stop judging my parenting technique?" She joked.

"He's just trying to have fun. Finally having someone else to talk to and hang around with." Stampy said.

Stacy rolled her eyes and smirked. "Since when did you become so fatherly?"

"I guess ever since we came back from... you know..." Stampy answered.

The two got quiet and stared at the town. It was so much bigger than it was six long years ago. Stacy grabbed Stampys hand and rested her head on his shoulder. Stampy breathed in a little sharp breath since it was his left shoulder and it will never be fully healed, but the pain wasn't as bad as it was six years ago.

"Are you okay?" Stampy asked.

"Just enjoying the view before something takes it away..."

Stampy looked down at the woman leaning on him. "Why are you brooding? What's the matter?"

She gripped Stampys hands and looked into his eyes. "Stampy I have to tell you something and you can't get mad... if you're even able to get mad."

"I won't get mad, just tell me what's wrong Stacy."

"Stampy..." she paused, looking at the setting sun then shifted her gaze to the barn then back at Stampy. "I'm pregnant."

Stampy practically jumped up and gave his lover a terrified look. "But we... it was just... it was only one time! It was six years ago!"

He tried not to shout, or shout too much at least. The news was just overwhelming, it was like a sudden slap in the face. Like he just now realized how old he was. He was about to make a comment about how Stacy was older than him and she was in her forties when he remembered that she wasn't. When she died her body stopped aging, so she was the same age as she was six years ago.

He closed his eyes for a moment to try and process what he just heard. Is there some magical thing he didn't know about? Did she cheat on him? Where they even a couple? He opened his eyes when he heard soft sobbing, or someone trying to hold in their tears. It was Stacy.

"I'm not mad I'm just confused." Stampy said, then added, "it's okay to cry."

"I know you aren't mad," Stacy responded, trying to hold in tears.

The two sat there for a minute both trying to think of what they should say next. It almost felt like silence. But in the distance, you could still hear some people working or trying to get home. And some Werewolves were messing around. For a moment Stacy could've sworn she saw The Paw Patrol marching around in the distance.

Until Stampy got sick of the silence and flat out asked, "Who's the father?"

Stacy shuttered when he asked that question. She knew who the father was but couldn't bear to say his name out loud. She still had nightmares about him and feared that if she said his name out loud he would be able to find her. All she could answer was, "Him."

"It wasn't your fault." Stampy pointed out remembering the incident.

"I know it wasn't, but it feels like it is. I should've been stronger, I should've realized sooner, I shouldn't have been so dumb."

"You're not dumb! You were under some stupid spell. It was never your fault."

She sighed and pretended to accept Stampys words, "I guess you're right."

Once again the two went silent trying to think of what to say next. Stampy was about to get up and leave when Stacy gripped his hand a little tighter and stopped leaning on him. She looked at him and tried to pull herself together. Pull yourself together, I need to know if he's with me on this. She thought.

"Stampy listen to me. I know whatever it is, it isn't yours. And I know it wasn't my fault. But whoever it belongs to I can't raise it by myself. I need to know if you'll help me with this. Can you help me raise my pups?" She asked.

Without hesitation, Stampy answered, "Of course! I'll love your pup unconditionally!"

His words brought a smile to Stacy's face through the tears. But she just had to point something out first. "It's pups."

"What?"

"It's rare for a she-wolf to have one pup, it's usually between four and six. Sometimes more..."

Stampy paused for a moment as if he was rethinking his decisions. "Then I'll love them unconditionally!"

Stacy chuckled and rested her head back on Stampys shoulder. "Thank you... you don't have to do this. I'm not ready for this and they aren't even yours..."

"Don't stress too much about it yet. No one is ever ready for this, and you can't tell but I'm freaking out on the inside right now."

She smiled and the sun finally set. Stacy nudged Stampy shoulder and jokingly said, "Carry me to my room, please. You can spend the night if you want..."

He smiled back at her and got up. "Of course."
