Chapter 4: A Story Told

Knock knock knock knock

Whoever was at the door was serious about gaining entry. Stampy looked at the door and Stacy stood up and growled, still in her wolf form.

"Hide," Stampy whispered.

Stacy rolled her eyes and transformed back into a human, but her wolf features stuck put like a sore thumb. "Where dumbass?" She whispered back.

"I don't know, fade away or something!" He whispered again but it was more like a whisper-shout.

"Uh hello? I might be a ghost but I don't know how to do that Stampy!" Stacy growled.

The person outside knocked again and this time they shouted. "Stampy? I'm coming in." Said the person.

"Oh no..." Stampy whispered once more, holding back from saying the word he wanted to.

The door opened and a man walked in he was was soaked by the rain outside. Winslow (who no one even knew was there jumped onto the table, next to the book, and started hissing at the man. After closing the door and adjusting his hair, the man turned out to be Dan.

"Stampy, haven't you heard?" Dan asked.

"If say if I heard about the bird then I swear on cakes. Yes Dan I have heard about the bird!" Stampy shot at him.

"What? No! I meant Jesse's back! You know, good ol' Jesse who went missing?" Dan said.

"He is?" Stampy asked. But in reality he was thinking, did I... did I do that?

"Yes! He's half skeleton now or something, it's so weird! But I think I know why he's here." Dan explained.

"How so?" Stampy asked again.

"Because you stole that book, and you tried making one of the potions but it back fired. Plus I can see the book right there next to Winslow." Dan said pointing to the book.

"Uh what? How did that book get there!" Stampy gasped.

"Oh for fluffs sake, Stampy he knows the truth!" Stacy snapped.

When Dan walked in he didn't see Stacy at first. But no hearing her voice he looked over and saw her. "Mom? Mom! I mean- Stacy!" Dan cheered.

"Oh my God, did you just call me mom? I didn't know you thought of me as your mother, Daniel." Stacy smirked.

"S-shut up! Wait... you're supposed to be dead! How are you alive? Stampy what did you do?" Dan growled.

"Well-" Stampy started.

"He took the book, tried to make a resurrection potion, failed and ended up being Jesse and I back to life. But apparently Jesse is a skeleton and I'm a ghost," Stacy explained, "so yeah that's about it."

A wave a silence hit the three after that, but it was broken by the sound of lighting crashing and Winslow jumping off the table and hissing at the sounds.

In an effort to explain himself, Stampy said, "Okay so I brought Stacy back. So what? I did it out of love! And not only that, I did it for the town and I did it for you!"

"Cool motive! Still messing with life! Don't try to play Notch!" Dan said sarcastically.

"You would've done the same thing if you weren't so loyal!" Stampy argued.

"No I wouldn't have! Because I know better, even if I was 'less loyal', it doesn't give you an excuse to play God! But you're right, maybe in another reality I would have brought someone back to life. I would've brought back Lizzie." Dan argued back.

"Oh sure, being back the person who betrayed me and murdered me." Stacy said oddly calm.

"No offense mom," Dan said then turning his attention back to his friend, "Stampy, we need to fix this. And we need to fix it now. Give me the book, maybe it has a potion or spell or whatever to fix this mess."

"No! Dan, I'm so close to finding a way to bring people back! Stacy, Lizzie, Jesse... Soren. We can bring them all back! None of them deserved to die but I can fix it! Just let me fix it!" Stampy hissed.

As Dan tried to take the book off the table, Stampy stopped his hand by scratching it.

"Ow!" Cried Dan.

"Just let me fix it! Just let me be useful!" Stampy hissed, actually hissing like a cat this time.

And hearing the word useful come out of Stampy's mouth was a clear signal that something was wrong. As Dan kept trying to get the book, Stacy didn't know what to do. But she noticed how Stampy's eyes went from their lovely green to a greedy gold. And only one word went through her mind... or a name more or less, Ein.

Back in the Mayors office Lukas, Petra, Jess, Olivia, Nurm (who brought Grazer with him), Radar, Gabriel, Axel, and Jesse were all crammed into one room. It was a big room but it did start to feel a crowded.

"Jesse... you were killed?" Jess asked her brother.

Jesse didn't say anything, he just kept looking down at the floor.

"We're just glad that you're back buddy!" Axel said with a smile plastered on his face. To which Olivia nodded in agreement.

"Those werewolves," Radar started, "I'm glad they're gone!"

Suddenly the doors were kicked open, to which Radar responded with falling on his knees. "Forgive me great werewolves! I will never talk back about werewolves again! Just please, don't eat me!" Radar cried.

Gabriel patted Radars back. "Radar, it's alright. It's just Stampy and Dan... Stacy?"

Everyone stopped to look at the entrance where indeed Stampy and Dan stood. But everyone was looking at Stacy who was standing next to her 'lover'.

"Before you come and give me a hug, don't. I'm a ghost." Stacy explained.

But that didn't stop Grazer who bolted across the room only to phase right through her and land on his face. Nurm gave a concerned squeak, Stampy laughed, and Stacy rolled her eyes. The kid never listens, she thought.

But everyone's attention quickly shifted back to Lukas. "Good. Everyone's here. So let's get down to the issue. What in Notchs name is going on?" He asked.

Dan stepped up and dragged Stampy by the sleeve. "I think Stampy knows what's going on."

Stampy gulped and pulled out the book he had in his satchel. "I did it. I brought Stacy and Jesse back to life. I saw a spell in this book and thought that I could use it to bring them back. Well... I wanted to bring Stacy back. I didn't even know Jesse was dead. But I can fix it or swear!"

"Stampy! You did the one thing we all agreed not to do?" Jess shouted.

"Jess, don't be so harsh. He wanted to bring his girlfriend back so he did what he had to do to bring her back. Even if it was a dumb move." Olivia pointed out.

Stampy blushed. "S-she's not my girlfriend!"

"Ouch. Stampy, I'm right here." Stacy said, pretending to be hurt.

"Enough!" Petra shouted.

Everyone stopped and looked at Petra, then to Lukas. "Thank you Petra," he said, "Stampy, what's with the book?"

"It a book of incredibly powerful spells and potions." Dan answered.

"I asked Stampy but whatever. Put the book down on the table, everyone gathered 'round." Lukas said.

Petra moved the countless paper and maps on the round table and Stampy put the book down in their place. Everyone gathered around and watched as Stampy opened the book.

Instantly as if the book knew what they were all thinking, the pages flipped through and through until landing on the page that said 'Potion of Resurrection'. As if instinct (and no one else would touch it) Radar turned the book in his direction and read aloud, " 'Potion of Resurrection: a potion that will bring a deceased person back from the dead."

Gabriel read the next sentence, "All you need is a scale from a dragon, the liver of a horse, the eggs of a big mouthed bass, a blessing of a fairy, and a piece of something they had."

To which Lukas finished the paragraph, "This potion has never been tested, so there is no guarantee that it'll work. But hopefully if done correctly I could bring back the dead. - E' who's E?"

Stacy replied, "Ein. His name is Ein."

"How do you know this person? He seems to be a great wizard from the looks of it." Lukas asked.

"From the stories, the legends, the tales. I met him once. He was the guy who shows you all that Romeo was a Werewolf. And sadly, so was he." She answered.

"Oh yeah I know him. The story of the fantastic five right?" Jesse said.

"I believe you're talking about the five pillars, Jesse." Olivia corrected.

"Guys listen," Stacy started, "before I... you know. I had this weird dream. It was the story of the fantastic five or the five pillars, whatever you want to call them. But the story went like this."

"Story time!" Stampy cheered, before being shushed.

Stacy cleared her throat and began. "Long ago when the world was first beginning Notch and Jeb had a giant fight in the sky. As they fought they didn't look after the land, and there was no one to protect it. The five friends stepped forward and called themselves the five pillars. A dragon, a wizard, a fairy, a human, and a werewolf. Together they protected the land and since Notch and Jeb we're too busy fighting they decided the land as such."

She stopped, took a deep breath and continued. "The dragons would live near the volcanoes. The fairies would live in the forests. And the wizards would create a city for magic dwellers. The humans could live on the fields, the mountains, the beaches, the tundras, the deserts too. The werewolves came and went as they pleased. Wherever the pack goes, they go. And when Notch and his friend stopped fighting they realized how the world was split. Even if the world was at peace, they could not keep the people divided.
As a punishment Notch would kill the pillars and destroy all the people and creatures, in order to create a new land. As the wizard went off to decide what to do to stop this, the rest of the pillars blamed the werewolf as the reason the world was divided. In the eyes of the werewolf, his 'friends' were jealousy and wanted to get rid of him for his book of magic."

Everyone leaned a little close to hear the next part.

"So the werewolf cast spells on all the creatures. He cast a spell so dragons could no longer speak. He created a potion that turned the fairies into ants. He introduced humans to killing their cattle and herds for Gods that didn't exist. And he killed all other wizards besides himself and his friend. When the wizard found out about this, he casted the werewolf out. But before the wolf left he said I, Ein, leader of werewolves, will return in seek for revenge. I will return when my werewolves most need me, and I along with my pack, will show you filthy rats why you should never betray me! And with that he was gone. Notch killed the rest of the pillars and was kind enough to give the world a chance.
And from that day fourth, no one has seen Ein again. Until six years ago."

No one knew what to think. Some didn't believe dragons exist, others thought the story was as real as themselves. Stacy, Stampy, Dan, and Jesse didn't need any more convincing that the story was real.

"You mean Ein as in... the guy I killed?" Petra asked.

"He didn't die, you never killed him." Dan said.

"What do you mean?" Jess said.

"She didn't use a silver bullet. At least I don't think so." Dan speculated.

"So he's still alive and out there!" Radar gasped.

"Then we must find him! We can't have him running around, casting spells on people!" Axel yelled.

"Stampy, you gotta keep that book safe!" Stacy said.

"Don't worry. He won't let it out of his cold dead hands." Dan reassured him. For the book was already back in Stampy's satchel.

"I didn't think I would ever have to use this map. Or say this... but we need to leave New Growler." Lukas said.

He spread a map across the table, some parts were ripped or burned. It wasn't just a map of New Growler... it was a map of it and the rest of the continent.

~~~
Thousands of years ago.
Three friends walks side by side in Notchs castle. "What are we going to do?" Said the human.
"We must follow the plan, don't worry Milo! I think Mr. Wizard will be very pleased! What do you think Starfinder?" Asked the fairy.
The dragon grunted, "I came up with the plan so we must follow it. Pipsqueak... Milo. I believe that we all made mistakes. We shouldn't have divided the land like this, and now we made Notch angry. But Ein must be stopped. Not only for our sake, but for the werewolves as well."
"How? The werewolves look up to Ein, they'll hate us if we kick him out!" Milo panicked.
"My little human think not of that bad. If the werewolves look up to him then they will follow in his footsteps. We don't want another Ein. If we stop him, we're trusting humans to guide them. We're trusting dragons to protect them. We're trusting fairies to heal them. And we're trusting magic to contain them." Said Starfinder (the dragon).
"But humans are afraid of werewolves! And dragons too! We don't like magic, it's unnatural to us!" Milo explained.
"Humans are cowards like faires. Werewolves are strong like dragons. Magic unites them like friendships." Starfinder stated.
"Ein is evil, Milo! That book is cursed and could destroy the world if a power hungry being gets it!" Pipsqueak (the fairy) explained.
"I guess so. But I'm going to miss you guys, and all the fun we've had together. When people didn't fear us so. I just want you to know that I don't care if we're humans, faires, dragons, werewolves, or wizards. You'll still my friends." Milo lectured.
Starfinder grinned and Pipsqueak flapped their wings with joy.
That one conversation alone, made Notch change his mind about resetting the world. Even if that meant a new evil would be placed in it. For he knew that a new team would arrive. A werewolf, a wizard, a human, a fairy, and a dragon would arrive and save the world again. Save it from Ein, leader of werewolves.
