Chapter 17: Breaking Free
While Dan, Lukas, and Petra were with Gabriel in the throne room, something else was happening at the same time. For it wasn't just dragons who got invited to Ignis' castle, but also werewolves, monkeys, satyrs, and other creatures like Gabriel said. As to why they're all here no one knows, except Ein and Ignis.
So, bored and with nothing to do, Stacy was wandering around the corridors of the palace. Now Eins potion worked on her, of course, but she could still think for herself. The only thing that's changed about her was where her love and loyalty is. Which those things belong to Ein now, no longer to Stampy and her friends. Do not think she hates her friends because she doesn't. She only sees them as friends now, unfortunately, Stampy is only a friend to her.
As she wandered through one of the wings of the palace she saw a group of monkeys walk towards her. They weren't that tall since compared to Stacy they barely went up to her hip and they were standing on two legs. Most of the monkeys didn't wear any clothes (why would they), except one who wore fancy clothes fit for a king and a little golden crown like the ones you see in fairy tales.
The monkey who lead the group stopped when he saw Stacy and the rest of the monkeys stopped with him. Everyone knew who the monkey was, he was the Monkey King the most impulsive, immortal, and powerful monkey ever. Stacy couldn't help but feel a little bit threatened and bowed.
Unexpectedly the Monkey King bowed back. "So, that's a werewolf? You have more manners than those satyrs. But let me tell you, they love to party!" Said the monkey king, all the monkeys nodding in agreement.
"Satyrs? There are satyrs here?" Stacy asked. I've never seen a satyr before... she thought.
"Oh yeah. There's a bunch of other creatures here. You won't believe it! Hold on, let me show you my right-hand monkey. Goku! Get over here!" The monkey king yelled into the crowd of monkeys.
Three monkeys stepped forward, all of them wearing the same orange and blue clothing. The tallest one (which was about the same height as the monkey king) looked at his king and waited for instructions. "This," said the monkey king. "is Goku. And his two little monkeys Gohan and Goten." The two smaller monkeys waved while Goku bowed.
"It's nice to meet you all. But I really must be going, I have some... werewolf business to attend to." Stacy lied. She didn't like lying but what could she talk about with a bunch of monkeys?
The monkey king nodded in agreement. "Same, we were just about to throw bananas at the dragons below. Come on monkeys, those bananas aren't going to throw themselves!"
Once all the monkeys walked past her Stacy continued on her way down the corridor. That was strange. I knew monkeys were just as advanced as humans and werewolves. But sometimes I forget they're monkeys and they do crazy things... and like bananas.
After that the rest of her day was boring. Just a whole lot of aimlessly wandering around the palace. Stacy didn't meet the satyrs like she wanted to, for they were too busy partying. But she did see some more royal dragons fly in. You could tell the difference because of all there jewels and treasure.
By the time Stacy returned to her room where she was staying it was already nightfall. A waxing gibbous in the sky. Only a few more days until the full moon. Maybe I should howl... just in case, I can't do it later. She thought.
Walking onto the balcony she took a deep breath and started to howl. To dragons and other creatures, it sounded like a normal howl. But to werewolves, it was a distress howl. A cry for help.
"Why are you howling like that?" A voice asked. Stacy panicked and thought it was Ein, though as she turned around she saw no one there. But the voice spoke again, "Up here."
Stacy looked up and almost fell over when a dragon suddenly landed on the balcony, though the beast's tail dangled off the side. "How did you..." she barely managed to say.
"Forgive me, I couldn't help but hear the distress howl. I thought something was wrong and I came running... or flying." The dragon explained. The dragon was a female and had sky blue scales with some white ones here and there as if she was the sky.
Stacy gasped, though slightly, not how she normally gasps which is overexaggerated. "You understood my howl?"
"Mhm." Went the dragon. "I understand a lot of different languages. Werewolf howls, Sea dragon noises, I even understand some fairy. Did you know that Sky dragons use thunder to communicate for far distances?"
"I did not know that. Are you one of the royals or diplomats Ignis sent for? Or are you just another dragon?" Stacy asked.
The dragon gave the werewolf a confused look. "Isn't it obvious? I'm clearly a..." the dragon felt around her neck. "Oh, I forgot I took my jewelry off when I got here. But yes, I am somewhat royalty. I'm the chief of the Rogue Dragons. My name is Stormmover, what about you?"
"I'm Stacy. I never met a Rouge Dragon before and I didn't know they had chiefs." Stacy said, slightly fascinated. The two talked for awhile. Stormmover telling Stacy about her family back in the forest, and Stacy telling Stormmover about the monkeys.
"Monkeys are strange creatures. Just like humans, but a little more animalistic. Throwing bananas at dragons... only a monkey would do that!" Strommover huffed.
"Well so are dragons. Only a dragon would be complaining about monkeys." Stacy pointed out.
Strommover chuckled at Stacy's remark, her tail swishing from side to side. "I didn't know werewolves had golden eyes. It's strange but nice. It's also interesting. I've seen dragons with almost every eye color, except gold."
"Gold eyes? You must be crazy, my eyes are green, not gold!" Stacy answered.
"I'm serious," Stormmover said, putting her claw on her chest. "You have gold eyes! I would never lie! What kind of a chief would I be if I lied? No one would respect me!"
"You must be delirious. I'm telling you, I don't have gold eyes!" Stacy argued.
Stormmover gave the she-wolf a curious look as if she was reading her soul. "Hm. Alright, if you say so. And you might be right, I am a little tired. But if I where you I would have a talk with this fiance of yours. Communication is key in relationships. Sometimes I wish that my wife would talk to me instead of hiding things. I wouldn't have come here if I hadn't found the scroll in time, which my wife tried to hide from me! Can you believe her? I'm rambling. All you need to worry about is if this Ein fellow is all he says he is. Leave your loyalty to someone you can trust." Stormmover explained.
Stacy smiled up at the dragon. "Thank you for the advice. Before you go, can I ask you something?"
"Sure. But if it has something to do with reproducing then I'm not telling you!" The sky blue dragon joked.
"Ew, no it's not that. I wanted to know if you can look out for a human with orange clothing. He's a friend of mine and I heard he will be here soon."
"I'll try. I don't see humans often, but I'll keep an eye out for orange humans. I'll see you around Stacy!" Stormmover said. Though the dragon didn't wait for a response from her new friend, for she already opened her wings to their full length and flew upwards, then away from the palace.
~~~
Stacy tried to get some sleep but she just kept tossing and turning, waiting for Ein to return. Eventually, she did fall asleep and instead of a void of nothing or a dream it was more like thoughts. Why do I even bother waiting for him? She thought. It's not like I can really do anything. I can't really go anywhere. Where can I even go? Down to my death? No thank you, I'm not going through the lust trial again!
Come on Stacy, it wasn't that bad! A mysterious voice said. Though the voice wasn't an actual voice, Stacy heard it but no one was in the room. The voice was in her head.
What the hell are you! Stacy thought, she assumed that was the only way to respond to it.
Me? I'm you!
Okay... then why are you in my head?
What part of 'I'm you' did you not understand?
Sorry I blanked for a second. What I meant to say was: Why are you talking to me? Am I a schizophrenic?
A what?
Basically, a person who heard voices who tells them to do stuff. Look voice, I'm my own person and I'm not lighting anything on fire. I'm too smart for this!
Why would I ask you to light things on fire? All I wanted to say was how great Ein is!
That's... it?
What do you mean ' that's it? '
I expected something completely different, but sure. Ein is alright but not the greatest thing ever! That title goes to Wink.
Wink?
My dog. Damn, I miss him. I wonder if Ein will let me go get my dog...
He'll probably say no. You know how paranoid he can get.
I know. I'll probably ask Stormmover to take me back to New Growler one day before she leaves.
You're friends with a diplomat! Ein would flip if he heard about this!
Hey, he has his friends in high places, so I can have mine! He doesn't need to control every little thing about me! Sure, we're engaged but I can still think for myself!
Of course, you can still think for yourself! It's just... I guess the potion isn't settled in yet...
What potion?
Nothing important. Look, just don't make Ein angry and do what he says! It can't be that hard to be just a tad submissive, right?
I already listen to him, when will he ever listen to me?
Probably never, but that's just a theory.
Never huh? Well, at least Stampy will be here to listen to my complaints...
Oh yeah... about Stampy... forget him.
What?
Forget about him, you'll probably never see him again anyways. Ein doesn't really like humans. But I'm sure you already knew that!
How can I just forget about Stampy? We've been friends for years! We did... things. He didn't freak out that I was a werewolf! He was the last person I saw when I...
See? That's it right there, you're too attached. Let go Stacy, one human is nothing!
Stampy isn't just 'one human' he's Stampy Cat. He had to endure so much, and for what? No one can tell me who I can and can't be friends with! Not you, not Ein, not Stormmover, not the monarchy, not even Notch himself!
Oh no... you're slipping...
I'm what?
I have to warn Ein... this shouldn't be happening...
Warn Ein about what? I KNEW IT! I knew you weren't really me!
I failed... oh god when he sees this... oh my Notch... it'll be all hell on Lupus... I have to warn the king... Stay safe Stacy... please don't die.
Die? Who said anything about- Then she woke up.
~~~
That morning Stacy woke up to see Ein carefully brushing his wolf ears, making sure he doesn't hurt himself or that he doesn't pull on any of the white furs. "Morning Stacy." He said.
For a moment Stacy forgot where she was. Wasn't I in a cage a second ago? Yeah, I was! Then Ein... Ein... And in a horrible second, it all came back to her. Everything that happened, everything he's done to her. He did things... things that shouldn't be said or done, ever. But they happened, and Ein did those things to her. And now, she broke free. "Ein..." she growled.
Ein just stood there looking at himself in the mirror. He put down the small comb onto his desk, then he turned to face her. "So, I heard you broke free. I wasn't expecting that. No matter, I'll only make a stronger potion."
"Why... why are you doing this to me?" Stacy asked her voice low (or as low as it could go).
"Because I need a mate for my plan. You're the only werewolf smart enough for me, but I guess maybe a little too smart if you broke free from my spell..." Ein explained.
Stacy shook her head, disgusted. "You already have a mate and a son! Don't you remember Aurora?"
"The whore left me when she found out what I can do. I regret ever giving her a child." Ein mumbled.
Stacy started backing up towards the balcony outside, though slowly. "I will never understand werewolves like you, Ein. You just take and take and take. But for what? You've committed multiple crimes and you never own up to them. You sick piece of shit!"
"What are you doing? Do you plan to kill yourself again! Get over here, NOW!" Ein shouted.
"You can't make me Ein. Not anymore." Stacy said. So she ran over to the balcony and jumped over the edge.
It almost felt as if she was flying, with the wind pushing back her ears and tail, and her hair all over the place. She was lucky that she went to bed with her normal clothes on the night before. She heard a faint, "Damn it!" which probably came from Ein. And then she was grabbed by something. It was Stormmover!
"What are you doing! Are you trying to kill yourself?" Stormmover shouted at her.
"No! Just bring me back into your room so we can talk!" Stacy shouted back.
"Fine!" Stormmover said. The large dragon flapped her wings and up they went. Up and up and up, over the palace, and over the volcano. Then she folded her wings in for a dive, with Stacy held tightly in between her front claws.
Everything went by so fast. How the clouds suddenly disburse when Strommover started her dive, to the rocky terrain of the volcano turned into the palace. And before they could hit the palace roof, Strommover opened her wings and the two bolted upwards before they finally landed on the roof of the eastern wing.
When Stormmover let go of Stacy, she chucked a boar at her friend. "Watch it! What's with the boar?"
"I caught a boar for you! I was going to land on your balcony and give it to you, but you ALMOST COMMITTED SUICIDE!" The dragon chief shouted.
"Thank you for the boar, but I can explain everything!" Stacy said.
"Well, you better start talking!" Stormmover yelled.
So she did. Stacy told her about Eins potions and his plan. She told her that he used her and all of his crimes (that she knew of). The hardest thing to explain was breaking free. The conversation that managed to bring her out of his control. It hurt just to think about it.
"So... you were raped?" Stormmover said quietly.
"Basically, yes," Stacy answered. That's the only word that could be used for this.
"That sick son of a bitch! I'll kill him!" Stormmover roared.
Stacy chuckled and put a hand on the dragon's paw. "We all want to kill him."
"I'll rip his throat out an feed him to his own kind!" Stormmover shouted with rage.
"I'm right here, I don't think any werewolf would want to eat him. Trust me... I've tasted him." Stacy groaned. I probably shouldn't have said it like that...
"Too much information there... but you're right. All the more reason for a gruesome death!" Stormmover grinned. "Like this!"
The dragon chopped up the dead boar into a bunch of thin slices with her claws. And as for the head of the boar and gobbled it down in one bite, bone and all. She slid some of the chopped up boar over to her werewolf friend. "Here. You should eat something that's not... I think I'm going to be sick..."
"I ate normal food too! Not everything he did was sexual!" Stacy argued. "I can't believe I'm on Ein's side for once..."
Stormmover sighed, "Well at least your eyes are green... so I know I can trust you. Dig in friend."
The two ate for a while and watched dragons fly in and out of the palace before doing anything. They saw dragon guards of different tribes flying in formations together. Others trained for battle. They even saw two dragons carry in tanks of water, which Stormmover said was the Seahorse king and his royal court. They became so bored that they ended up talking about Stormmovers ability to slightly see into the future and the prophecy pool. And Stacy told Stormmover that she saw her fly towards the balcony in the distance, and she knew that she would catch her if she jumped.
But besides that, the both of them sat bored for a few hours until they spotted a white dragon fly towards the castle. From what they could tell it had... feathers?
"Don't Aether dragons have feathers?" Stacy asked.
"Yes. But Aethers are like angels, they shouldn't be here unless they have a message from Notch or are fallen-angels." Stormmover explained.
Although this dragon was all white, Stacy could spot some colors on it's back. One of them being a familiar orange color. "We have to follow that dragon!" Stacy said suddenly.
"Why? It might be for the king! Ein has his filthy little paws wrapped around him like a puppy... if he sees you..." Stormmover trailed off into a worried look. She didn't want to say what might come next.
"I know you're scared. I'm a little shaken myself. But I have to see who's riding that dragon. You see them right? There are people on that dragon!" Stacy pointed out.
"Now that you mention it..." Stormmover eyed down the dragon. "I do see some colors. Black, red, orange... do you think its the human you were talking about?"
"Definitely. Only Stampy would be that courageously stupid to come to get me!" Stacy boasted.
"The human has a name?" Stormmover shook her head. "No matter, hop on my back and hold on tight!"
Stacy grabbed onto one of Stormmovers necklaces (which she just so happened to have on today) and held on for dear life and her dragon friend raced towards the Aether. They followed the dragon a couple full grown dragon lengths behind it and watched as it dived into an open window near the throne room. "Hang on..." Stormmover warned.
Stormmover tucked her wings in for a dive and she charged into the corridor through the window. And everything seemed to become slow motion as they entered. You could almost see the dust particles moving when Stormmover dived in. When everything went back to normal speed for Stacy she realized two things. One was how much control Stormmover had over her wings since she bumped into nothing. And how there where humans and werewolves on the Aether dragon. Some of those humans and werewolves should be dead... dead from six years ago...
The beings on the dragons back already got off of the dragon and were either hiding behind it or ready to fight. One clocked human holding a little gun and aiming it at Stormmover. But Stormmover only lowered her head so that Stacy could get off of her.
Once Stacy was standing on her own two feet she slowly walked towards the group and saw their faces. Ignoring the fact that the Aether and Stormmover where eyeing each other down, Stacy suddenly collided with another person. "I'm sorry... I'm so sorry for everything I've ever done... Notch forgive me..." Said a British voice.
When Stacy looked back at the crowd she expected Stampy to be the one hugging her. But she was wrong, for Stampy was giving her the cold shoulder. When she looked at the actual person hugging her or tried, she only saw the persons pink hair. She realized that it was Lizzie.
Her killer was giving her a hug.
