(1) Yet another school day (sigh)
Ring Ring
My high-pitched, irritating alarm rang, but I was too lazy and tired to wake up.
Ring Rin-
My mother suddenly opens the door and closes the alarm, as she starts patting on the side of my body.
"Hey, wake up sweetie," my mother whispers, trying not to startle me.
"H-huh? W-what i-is it?" I groaned, still overwhelmed by how sleepy I am.
"It's time for school. Come on. It's half past seven." She muttered whilst budging me slightly, smiling warmly.
Nothing beats a day where I wake up with my mother's smile shoved into my face. I quite like it just because I don't have to be tormented by her furiously loud voice.
Those days are very rare, so I usually wake up in the hopes of my mother being quite generous. Otherwise, one wrong move and when I come back from school, she'll let me do everything other than sitting around doing nothing or having fun.
I sat up, my mother by my side, and pushed my white blanket aside my bed, the bed covered in a yellow sheet just for show. All I have is a pillow and a bed (as well as a blanket of course), but I was grateful for it because atleast I have something.
My mother suddenly stood up and opened the door, then closed it behind her.
"She forgot to close the light again-" I murmured, mildly annoyed because I haven't fully woken up yet and the light was painful to my delicate, lazy eyes.
I looked to my side, my brush waiting for me on the empty table right beside my bed (well, it's not that empty. It has my alarm on the side of it of course, where else would it be). The temptation to fix my hair was high, so I decided to do so (as I consider it something I do daily) by sitting down on the chair that I barely used and combing my (currently) spikey hair. My hair looked like unlawned grass, but when I finish, it (usually) looks really neat.
I stood up from the chair I was sitting on, and decided to close the door and leave my room. Right Infront of my room was the stairs down to the ground floor (which is where our living room, kitchen and bathroom is), so I started rushing down the stairs, and ended up at the living room.
"Oh, I almost forgot, it's my mid-term exam day," I said calmly, trying to remember the things I tried revising for.
"How did the revising for your upcoming exams go?" My mother asked with a slightly louder tone of voice, somehow still maintaining the overly polite composure she has been holding up from the moment my alarm rang.
"It went well. Just hoping that 5 hours of studying actually paid off. It really took off most of my sleep time."
"Oh, is that why you're so tired-looking?"
"Yup, it is the reason why I look so sleepy."
"That's why I keep telling you to study the moment you come from school, not slack off till it's almost midnight and then do your work. What if the task is too long?"
"Sorry, mom, but I usually don't have any motivation to even try."
Sigh
"I guess there's no point in arguing over it."
I suddenly stand up from the couch and approach my mother, who is at the kitchen, to help with preparing the lunchbox I'll be taking to school.
"What made you suddenly want to help? You usually don't like helping me," She questioned with curiousity as she put in a full apple into my fabric-like lunch bag.
"Oh, I don't know really. I just have the sudden motivation to."
"Oh, alright. Hope you enjoy school!" She exclaims from sudden happiness as she finishes my lunchbox and packs it into my dark-blue lunch bag.
I then take away the lunch bag and place it into my massive black backpack (which mostly contains books). Holding the bag, I lift it up and wear it swiftly as I walk out of the door.
"Bye sweetie! Hope the exam goes well!"
"Me too! Bye!"
I saw the bus going at full speed, so I started sprinting (even though my stamina was very low because I'm bad at running) to the bus stop. I managed to get to the other side in time and held up my hand, waiting for the bus to slow down enough for me to enter.
As I pulled up my bus ticket, I saw a shadowy figure suddenly appear right beside, then abruptly vanish without a trace.
Was that my imagination? I asked myself, confused.
"Oi, ya the'e?" The driver questioned, leaning from his seat and awaiting my reply.
"Oh, right."
I showed my ticket to the driver and went in, sitting down comfortably on those bus chairs that seemed to be more comfortable than the sofa at my house. Who knew they were this much better than my house's chairs/sofas.
I looked out the transparent window, which seemed to block a fraction of the view from the edges of the window.
"I'm sure this day will be as good as the others."
I sat down on the bus chair on the very front (because I'm simply too lazy) and stared at the houses that passed by, skimming through each one for any interesting details or things that stand out (like um... a massive dog statue..?).
I immediately started getting bored of simply staring at the window and trying to find anything impressive, so I tried to listen to the conversations on the bus.
The bus was completely quiet. No signs of sound. Not even a shift of wind. Not a single movement detected by my big ears. Nothing. Just pure silence.
I gazed around.
No one was there.
