A few days later, I walked into Math class and saw a familiar looking face. I finally got to really look at him, and drink up his features. His straight, silky dark brown hair tied up in a low ponytail, his violet eyes that sparkled in the light, his slim yet strong figure. Everything.
I walked over to him, and sat at a desk next to him. "Hey stranger." I said, smiling.
Alex looked at me and smiled. "Nice to know that I have at least one friend in this class." He chuckled.
Laf then walked into class and sat next to me, staring at Alex. "Oh, mon ami, is this your boyfriend?" Laf said, making me blush. I looked at Laf, pissed. He knew what he was doing, and I hated him for that.
Alex laughed, putting his chin on his hands, looking at me. "Boyfriend, eh?" He smirked.
"I wish." Okay, so maybe I hate Laf a little bit less now. "I could only dream of having you as my boyfriend." I blushed and turned my head towards him to find him winking at me.
"Tu as vraiment fait le bon choix d'un petit ami, John." Laf said, nudging me.
Alex smirked. "Pourquoi, merci monsieur Lafayette." He said, making Laf smile. "Mais je crois avoir fait le bon choix en donnant mon numéro à John."
I remembered back to the night of the dance, and snickered. "Good, you can tell me what the fuck he's saying."
"Just take French, like Hercules is doing." Laf said.
I rolled my eyes as class started.
Midway through class, Alex slipped me a note.
Dites à John de vous rencontrer (moi) au dîner après l'école
I gave the note to Laf, who read it and looked at me. "Hey uh, m-mon ami?" He said. "Can you meet me at the diner after school? I want to talk to you about Alex."
I nodded, confused.

I watched as snowflakes fell on the ground, making the cold evening beautiful. We aren't supposed to get much snow tonight, maybe half an inch. I felt warm and cozy in the diner, despite how cold it is outside. The diners bell rang as Alex walked in. He looked around until he noticed me. He sat across from me, holding a laptop.
"Hey!" I said, pleasantly surprised to see him. "What's the laptop for?"
"I'm writing a short story." Alex explained, logging into the laptop. "It's about two gay lovers who cannot be together due to their families, and end up dying in the end."
"So, a gay version of Romeo and Juliet?" I stated.
Alex nodded. "Yeah, basically. I'm doing it as an assignment, so that's why. We have to take a Shakespeare classic and make it more modern."
I nodded in understandment. "Well, that's cool."
"Hey, does this sound good to you?" Alex asked, reading a bit from his project. "Alexander held his beloved's hand and he gave him [Jonathan] the molten lead. 'Tonight, my love,' Alexander started. 'We shall feast.' The two then downed the molten lead and shared one final kiss, being their longest and most powerful one they ever shared." Alex looked at me. "Too Shakespeare-ish?" He asked.
"No, not at all!" I answered. "Is there any reason why the lovers are named Jonathan and Alexander?"
"Shut up, I was writing this a while before I gave you my number." He said, blushing. "So call it fate, or whatever."
I laughed. "You're cute when you blush." I said without even realizing what the fuck I was saying. Next thing I knew, I was all red and Alex was smiling.
"I'm cute, eh?" He asked, leaning over the table, closer to me. "What else am I?"
"Bookish, a-a writer?" I said unsure. Alex smiled and leaned closer. If I leaned foreword, I would be able to kiss him. Oh, I'd love that. I think Alex knew that, because next thing I know, he pulls my head closer to his, and then our lips met.
I felt all those emotions swell up inside me once more. The love, the lust, the hunger, the passion. I wanted more, I needed more. He tasted like coffee with a mix of energy drinks, making me guess that he hasn't really slept well. Once we pulled away, I looked at his eyes. The familiar sparkle I saw a year before.
"Did you feel it?" I asked. "The passion?"
Alex nodded. "The hunger?"
"Yeah, and love?" I said.
Alex nodded. "Along with lust."
"Burning like a flame?" We both said it at the same time.
I blushed. "Alex, would you like to-" I started.
"Yes." He cut me off.
And just like that, I had a boyfriend
