"You look great for 100, Killia!" Gabby exclaimed.
"Uh huh. Thanks. Do you mind sending the actual spirit I summoned now?"
She ignored me and spotted John over my shoulder. "Oh! Are you that fairy boy's familiar?"
"Yes. I am the shit's familiar," I said through gritted teeth. Fucking angels. Their heads were full of clouds and fluff and nothing gruff. I mean, yeah, I was an angel myself, but I borrowed demonic power. That was a huge no no to them.
"Hi," John said cautiously, looking at me. He stayed a good distance away.
Smart kid.
"And how are you?" She said in a high pitched voice. She braced her hands on her knees and leaned down.
"Great."
Gabby was only a normal angel, and she was absurdly young at thirty four. I had a sixty six year advantage on her.
She frowned at the shit's lack of answer and stood straight again. "Well then, Killia, what did you need again?" She spotted my dark wings and the disapproving look on her face deepened in disgust.
I ignored her. Fuck her judgemental ass. The only reason she was even a Gabriel was because my sister recommended her and I'd grudgingly agreed to promote her from possible Gabriel in training to the real one when Gabby had been sixteen.
"Well, first off, Miss Gabriel, I want that spirit I chose to summon, because I sure as fuck didn't call you. Second, I'd like for you to leave and not report to Anthony that you found me. Third, it's within my power to wreck you if needed, so as long as no one suddenly finds out where I'm living, you'll be fine." I gave her a nasty smile, stretching my long blackened wings to give my words a bit more of a threat.
Her face was pale and she quickly swallowed. "Uh, yes. Here's your earth spirit."
I nodded. "C'mere, shit."
Gabby's eyes glowed in anger as John padded towards me obediently.
"That is very disrespectful to the fairy race, Killia," she stated coldly.
I leveled my gaze at her. "I think it's disrespectful and intruding to assume my fairy owners have no rules for me, or to try to correct me in ways they do not attempt." Hoe, I added silently in irritation.
She turned red and stepped to the side as John peeked around my waist, his eyes wide and expectant. I rarely blew off on people in front of him, and I assumed he hadn't been expecting to see another angel.
"Lia, why are her wings white and yours are black?"
I shrugged. "I use different powers than they do, John."
"And you should not do that," Gabby said stonily as she kept forming the spirit.
"I think it's cool that Lia can do what normal angels can't. She already taught me elven magic."
Gabby's eyes narrowed in anger. "Killia. Elven magic is for elves, not for fairy children."
"Once again, Gabby, my fairy owners have rules. John, we don't discuss lessons in front of strangers unless we have permission, okay?"
He nodded solemnly and shrunk behind me again.
"It's here," Gabby mumbled. The spirit's cocoon trembled, like the little guy inside was excited to meet us.
"Good. Now go." I stepped into the circle, efficiently ending the connection and making the circle disappear.
I glared at the dust she left behind for a few seconds, as if I could laser beam her through the past with my eyes or something. Then I gently took the cocoon in my arms, turning.
"Okay, then, shit. Ready?"
Ah! Okay. Hi.
So, for starters. Sorry about the picture that failed to be placed in the last chapter. It completely went unnoticed and I didn't realize it hadn't been stuck on the page until I checked over the published version. I didn't want to unpublish it and pore over my anxieties about why it didn't stay on the page, so I left it. I'll be sure to post the picture next time.
And I think I figured out a schedule! I'll either have two new chapters uploaded every month or one chapter on the first of every month. Let's see which fits best!
Otherwise, see y'all next time. Bye!
