Episode - 2-7 Accident Suspicion
"Man... If I can't be in the Spelldrive tournament, then what's even the point anymore?" Grim said. Abby looked at him. "Wow, uh, melodramatic much?" She said. The three ghosts appeared and noticed grim mood.*
"What's wrong, Grimmy? Something got ya down?" Ghost A asked. Ghost B answered his questions. "He's sulking because he can't play in the Spelldrive tournament." Ghost B answered him. Ghost C stares at girm.
"If you wanna play Spelldrive that badly, why, we can play with ya! I was the team captain ninety years ago, you know. The girls in the stands couldn't get enough of me!" Ghost C said proudly. Abby rolled her eyes as she looked at grim.
"Yeah, but wouldn't we need seven people? It's not a real match, so who cares? Let's just play!" Ghost A said. Abby sigh when she them outside as she watch them play when leans on the gate just watching them. Crowley show up.
"Good day. Playing some Spelldrive?" He asked. Grim mood is sour again. "Aaand here comes the Fun Police.
There goes my good mood, right down the drain." He said sarcastically. Abby hit him. "Behave." She muttered quietly.
Crowley smiled at them happily. "I'm pleased to see you're all getting along. Quite pleased indeed." He said cheerfully. Grim didn't listen to abby advice. "Yeah, they just keep comin' back anyway. Might as well get along, I guess.
Did you want something, or..." He said.
"I have a request to make of you both. Why don't we take this inside?" Crowley said quickly. Abby blinks when she nods bringing them into the lounge as she looks at him. "Seriously? MORE requests? Ain't a part of your janitorial staff anymore, y'know!" Grim said. Abby 'shhh' him. "Enough!" She said as well.
"Oh? You DO recall that I never promised to cover the living expenses you've been racking up, yes? Hard work can be a beautiful thing, Grim. I'm sure you agree, abby." Crowley said. Abby nods her head. "That why i said, behave." She said there gritted teeth to grim. As grim felt small.
Crowley clear his throat. "I'll get straight to the point. There has been a rash of students being hurt in suspicious incidents on campus lately. I'm here to ask you to investigate the matter." He explained to them. Grim listen as he tilr his head confused. "Suspicious incidents...?" He questioned.
Crowley nods his head. "Yes. Students falling down stairs,
getting burns from boiling water, and so forth. The specifics of the incidents differ, but the nurse's office has had a clear spike in patients over the last few days. With yesterday's incident on the stairs, we now have ten wounded students. We're just fortunate that none of the injuries have been life-threatening...yet." He explains to them.
Grim still had his head tilt to the side. "Ya sure it ain't just kids bein' clumsy?" He asked. Crowley shakes his head. "I'm sure many of our students are too distracted by the upcoming tournament to focus properly. But this is far more accidents than we've had in past years. Furthermore, all of the wounded students were considered contenders to make their dorms' teams." He said.
Grim eyes lit up. "Ohhh, this is getting interesting!" He said. Abby crossed her arms. "So you don't think they were accidents, then?" Crowley eyes sparkled a bit. "An excellent deduction, abby. However, we have no evidence of foul play. All of the accidents happened in public spaces, and all of the witnesses said the same thing: "it looked like he was just being careless." He said.
Grim smile. "Sounds like they were just bein' careless, then. Case closed! Glad we could sort that out. Bye!" He said. Abby held grim. "Hold on, there might something else to this. This doesn't seem right and sound right as well." She said.
Grim grumbled to herself. "But this has got nothin' to do with me! I can't even participate in your dumb tournament! So what do I care what happens? Ptooey!" He said. Abby sighed heavily. "Your so unbelievably annoying." She said.
Crowley chirped in. "what if I allowed you to participate in the Spelldrive tournament?" He asked. We both had wide eyes. "PARDON-MOI!!!!!!" Grim said surprise. "Should you solve the case, I'll generously permit your dorm to enter the Spelldrive tournament. What do you say to that?
Surely you're dazzled by my altruism?" Crowley said happily.
Grim was shocked and confused on what he heard. "Myah... Myahaha!" He said. Crowley continued talking. "As a participant, the whole world will lay eyes upon your majesty. Just imagine the cheers echoing from the sold-out stadium seats! 'This year's most promising rookie, the mighty Grim, has taken the field! Hurrah!" And so on." He said.
Grim eyes sparkled and smile happily. "Oh, man. It's like I can already taste it..." He said but was cut by Crowley. "Ah, but of course, you have refused my offer. How unfortunate. Let's forget this ever happened." He said. Grim stop him. "No, wait! WAIT! I'm in! I'll do it!" He said.
Crowley peek with one eye open. "What's that? You'll do it, you say?" He asked. Grim nods his head. "If you'll let me into the tournament, you bet! Right, abby!" He said. Abby looked at them as she smiled nodding her head. "Let's catch the culprit and enter the tourney!" She said excitedly.
Grim remembered something. "But hold on a sec. Don't we need seven players? What are you gonna do about that?" He asked. Crowley nod but open his mouth. "As school headmage, I will simply perform a magical miracle to fill out your team somehow." He said.
Grim fist his paw into the air. "Sold! You got yourself a deal, good sir! C'mon, Abby, we got a crime to solve!" He said happily. Crowley at them both. "I'm counting on you both." He said.
