Ash Ketchem has finished his journey in the Kalos Region and is now looking for a new adventure. When Ash hears about a new region, the Soko Region, he couldn't help but want to head out right away. With Pikachu by his side Ash sets off on a new journey to the Soko Region with Professor Oak's grandson and old rival, Gary Oak.

In the Soko Region three new trainers Richie, Zoë and Andy are starting their own journeys. Before heading out to face the Soko Region Gym Leaders they must go and receive their Starter Pokémon from Professor Aspen in Magnolia Town. Along the way the meet Ash and Gary and they're not the only people these new trainers meet. A Mysterious girl name Luna helps them on their journey through the Soko Region, but there's something about her that makes them all wonder the same thing.

And will Ash finally meet his Father after all this time?
