Opinion: So aside from my art I haven't really talked about Steven Universe on my profile so this is a good way to start. I absolutely adore this ship! But the funny thing is I don't really know why. I began watching the show last spring and when Lapis showed up I don't know I guess the whole storyline of Steven being her only friend and healing her gem was really cute to me. Now keep in mind that I've only see the first season and half of seasons two and five so if I misspeak forgive me. From her first appearance Lapis was very cold and closed off and she didn't want to get close to anyone due to her fear of the Diamonds. However Steven, in his own adorable lovable way, is able to help Lapis open up and accept his friendship. It's obvious that aside from Peridot Steven is her closest friend. I just love their pure innocent friendship and I think that they would make a wonderful couple. Also can we talk about how much Lapis's new form looks like Steven's outfit? Just saying. However I do acknowledge that this ship probably won't be canon because I'm 99.9% sure that Stevonnie/Connverse will be canon because they've been setting it up since season one but that's a note for another day. I even wrote a one shot starring this ship and drew fanart of what I imagined their fusion to look like, if they ever do fuse I mean.
