Origin: A Maltese is a cat with silver fur, kinda like Mercury's hair.

Opinion: So my opinion for this ship is basically the same as for Poison Rose and Negatives. Even though Blake and Mercury both have some dark spots in their past I still can't see them as a couple. Again it's the whole "Mercury made Yang look bad and he helped attack the school" so I don't think Blake would want to be with him. However I do have to admit that this is my least favorite RWBY girl x Mercury ship. Why? Let's go back to what I said earlier. Mercury made Yang look bad. Now with Weiss and Ruby they forgave Yang pretty quickly. Blake however did not. She didn't believe what Yang did was an accident. Blake began worrying that Yang was becoming like Adam because he was hurting people and claiming it was an accident and that's what Blake believed Yang was doing. That entire scene made me upset and mad at Mercury so that's why I don't really ship them. Again I will say though that they could become friends if Mercury gets redeemed. But as a couple I can't see it.
