Opinion: If I had one word to describe this ship it would be adorable! This ship is so flipping cute! I mean I ship the entire shorty squad (Amethyst, Peridot, and Steven) as an OT3 but this ship is definitely my favorite out of the OT3. I just love their dynamic and for some reason I really like the enemies turned friends trope. I know at first Peridot hated the crystal gems (Amethyst included) but I'm so glad that she got redeemed (even though I do agree that every villain getting redeemed in SU is a little stupid). While this ship may not be extremely in your face like Connverse or Rubphire there are some subtle hints that are just so cute. Like for example Peridot leaning against a chair trying to look cool in front of Amethyst before ultimately failing and falling on her butt. Or Amethyst giving Peridot the most amount of nicknames out of anyone in the crystal gems. Oh and let's not forget Peridot looking jealous as Amethyst talked to Vidalia. Amethyst was also one of the only ones who tried to get Peridot to feel better and leave Steven's bathroom after Lapis left. Even in the recent movie there were some sweet hints of this ship. Like Peridot didn't even want to look at Amethyst because she thought that Amethyst still didn't remember who she was. So yeah this ship is very cute.
