- Why is this an issue?

In today's media-saturated society, we are bombarded with images of romance and 'the perfect couple'. However, realistically, this generated image is hard for us to achieve. Additionally, the terms 'romance' and 'sex' are used to mean the same thing - even here, on Wattpad, if you choose to read a romance novel, the romantic bit is supposed to be the sex - no wonder so many of us are confused about it all. Sex and Romance are also seen as essential to human nature, which obviously isn't the case, but leaves some of use feeling 'abnormal' or 'broken'. Romantic attraction is different to sexual attraction and people can have different preferences for each, depending on whatever it is they feel. Emotional attraction may also differ in each aspect - and although all are fluid and can change, none are interchangeable.

- What are we hoping to achieve?

We would like to raise awareness and acceptance of the various different romantic orientations. We would also like to diminish the effects of social stereotypes and media representations - people experience a plethora of types of attachment and not all are accurately portrayed, many not portrayed at all. We are hoping to change that.

- How can this be done?

With your continuous support of Project Awesomesauce, we will be able to accurately and sensitively get accross the information that could help others so much, in terms of understanding themselves and those around them. Writing, both informatively and creatively, is an incredible platform to generate understanding, which is what we ultimately want to do.
