THIRTY-THREE
You
For the first two days of the last week of school, everything seemed to be going well and not that terrible. We all had a bunch of free time in classes, some people weren't as douchy, and everyone was pretty excited for the end of the year prom. I never went in previous years, but I did change my mind yesterday. So maybe I was a little excited for tomorrow.
Connor and I met at our usual spot, sat down, and enjoyed our lunch.
"Everyone's so fucking loud," Connor complained after gulping down his water. "What the hell do you think it's gonna be like when we're in college?"
"I don't really know," I shrugged. "Might be kinda scary." I all of a sudden became a little anxious about the future. Okay, maybe more than a little.
He looked at me. "Oh come on, you'll be fine. You'll get the acceptance letter to the college of your dreams, and before that you're gonna end up as valedictorian or some shit-"
"No, that's Alana," I corrected, gulping down my food. "Or Gianna maybe, the girl is super smart."
The dreaded bell could be heard through the door, signaling the end of lunch. Connor stuffed his trash into his bag and stood up along with me. "Oh hey, prom is like, tomorrow right?" he asked.
"Yep," I opened the door to the slightly crowded hallway where the usual ruckus was being made. This time I wasn't surprised. It was almost the end of the school year. By the time the teacher yelled "Class dismissed," everyone ran out of the building.
Gianna came up to me while I was at my locker. "Hey, what's up?" I asked.
"Wanna go shopping for prom outfits?" She excitedly asked. I shut my locker and thought about it.
"Sure," I smiled and shrugged as I walked out with them.
Gianna clapped her hands together. "Great! Let's go now so we'll have more time to hang out later. That is, if you can Y/N."
"No problem with that," I nodded.
We saw a car roll by and it stopped in front of us. Zoe pulled down the window in the driver seat, also revealing Connor in the passenger area.
Looks like he's trailing along with us. Honestly, perfectly fine with me.
"Get in losers, we're going shopping!" she called out and laughed.
Gianna hopped in after me. I sat behind Connor and tapped his shoulder as the car started to move. "Hey."
"Oh yea," Zoe began before Connor opened his mouth, "He's coming along with us."
"That's cool," Gianna nodded.
I smirked as I patted him again, "Perfectly fine with me."

I yawned and tried to keep my eyes open as Gianna, Connor, and I waited patiently for Zoe. After what seemed like an actual eternity, she finally stepped out of the dressing room with an armful of outfits. "I finally got one," She smiled sheepishly.
"'Bout fucking time," Connor said while stretching. I looked over at Zoe, who looked about ready to shoot something back at him. I quickly stood up as well.
"Alright, we all have our shit together so let's just go pay and stuff."
We did exactly that and headed out into the parking lot afterwards. I got into the car and slid into the uncomfortably hot seats with Connor.
"Have you ever been the only dude in a girl group shopping for prom before?" I teased while nudging his arm.
"Oh shut up," he breathed out. I smiled and gazed at him. "What?"
"I'm just amazed that you're able to put up with me." I giggled.
Zoe gagged in the driver's seat. "Can you guys keep your pants on till we get home?"
"Fuck you," Connor shook his head as he almost kicked the driver's seat.
"Zo, watch out!" Gianna nearly yelled, keeping her eyes on the road.
"Oh no," Zoe muttered as she slammed on the break, making everyone lean forward. "The traffic."
I looked at Connor who rolled down his window and peeked out. Sure enough, the congested intersection was jammed with vehicles. He then immediately rolled it back down because of the various noises.
"We're gonna be here for a while."
"No shit," I muttered. "We might as well spend the night here."
No one in the car said anything else and we only let the obnoxious pop music fill our ears. It didn't take long for Gianna to turn the radio off.
"You got an AUX?" She asked. Zoe, full of regret, shook her head.
"Forgot it."
As the car was slowly moving, I felt something fall on my shoulder. I turned to look at Connor's head that was sweetly resting against me, and his eyes that held a million stories were tightly shut. I shifted a bit more so he'd be more comfortable. Just seeing him so calm made my heart melt.
"Now that is adorable," Gianna chuckled while looking back. I smiled sweetly at her and then at Connor. I reached and wrapped my arm around his waist. His hand that rested on my lap twitched when I intertwined mine with it.
I chuckled at his very light snoring and leaned my head against the window, loving every second of the moment.
I was actually about to doze off myself before we finally heard Zoe say, "We should be almost home now,"
She looked back and forth to make sure everything was clear. "And.. we're out!"
Later, we were parked into the Murphy's driveway. I glanced at my boyfriend, who was still sound asleep.
I shook him slightly. "Con," I whispered, "We're home."
He fluttered his eyes open a bit. "Seriously?" He groaned as his head fell back on my shoulder.
I bit my lip and opened the car door. "Alright then," I took Connor's arm and threw it over my shoulder. "Your parents are gonna think you're drunk as fuck," I giggled while maneuvering out and stepping on the sidewalk.
I practically dragged him into the house. He definitely walked, but there was dragging. "Hi Larry," I casually greeted his father on the way up the stairs.
"Is he okay?" He asked, standing up.
"Yea, he's fine. Just super tired." I assured him before making my way to Connor's room. I tried setting him down in his bed comfortably but he just straight up plopped down.
"Thanks Y/N.." he croaked out exhaustedly.
I grinned and took his shoes off for him, placing them neatly near his door. "Of course, Con."
"I'm... so.. fucking... tired," He mumbled as I threw a blanket over him.
"I know," I whispered.
Damn, even his tired and exhausted self is too much for me!
