Chapter 10
Chapter 10
While I was waiting for Franklin to get back to me, I emptied the glass of the most alcoholic apple juice I've ever had. He knew I was upset. On how his friend put me in this situation. He might know what we did, but he could probably be thinking about the last time what went down at Paradise Beach.
He could be my last straw. He could bring me to his friend or just push me away like the last time. I kept looking at him from the counter to where I was sitting to see any actions he would take next.
As I saw him coming back to my spot, I tried acting up like I was still dreading it. When he got closer to me, I could feel my chest pumping so fast I felt like I couldn't keep up with it anymore.
"Hey, Atissa," he called me and I looked at his face and puffed my eyes out like a puppy. "I've been thinking about this thoroughly because I don't think Kons would like it when he explicitly requested not to be bothered, but sure, I'll take you to him."
My eyes widened and I couldn't contain the feelings. I immediately stood up and grabbed my purse as if I was already ready to leave.
"Okay, wait, sit down first and I'll tell you why what I told you," he said, putting his hands on my shoulder, slowly putting me back on sitting down. I did what he asked. "I will take you to him, but that's just because you insisted and you wouldn't let go of it, alright?"
I squinted my eyes, but I didn't say anything.
"The reason why he requested not to be bothered is because he's at their home and dealing with some personal stuff. I don't want to do this, but if you will keep me out of the picture, we'll be good. We can be friends."
I smirked. "That's fine by me. It'll take it all. So, when are we leaving?"
"Now. It seemed like you already finished your drink, too."
"I was too thirsty I guess."
He chuckled. "Come on, let's get out of this place."
I followed Franklin out of the rooftop bar. I was too giddy following him as the only thing in my mind was all I could say to Konstantin when I got to see him again. As we headed downstairs and got out of the premises heading to his car, I was like a kid he would bring into an amusement park.
As soon as we got into his car, I quickly hopped inside the front passenger seat and put the seatbelt on me so he would see I won't go anywhere else, but to our only destination—and that's Konstantin's house. When Franklin settled in the driver's seat, I was grinning at him. He chuckled as if he knew it would come to this point.
Franklin started driving the car. "It would only take us fifteen to twenty minutes before we get there. It wouldn't take us long so I hope you will prepare yourself once we get there."
I smiled at him. "I'm always prepared, Franklin. You don't know me yet, but Atissa Aramouni always comes prepared."
He smirked, nodding his head. "Well, let's see that when you get to see him face to face."
"I don't care."
"Alright," he said, shrugging off. "Remember, this is the only thing I would do for you. I'll take you there and my job will be over. I can't save you if you would do something stupid."
I patted his shoulder. "Don't worry, bad girls don't make bad decisions." I winked at him and he laughed it off.
"I believe in you. Now, let's go to Psarou. . ."
As we were on the road, I left Vaia a text message that I left the rooftop bar and if ever she would come to see me there, I wouldn't be there anymore. She didn't reply to me so I don't she will come when all of her attention is all over Argus. Fuck that man. He slowly took my best friend away from me.
"What is he doing back home? Does he have daddy issues?" I asked Franklin and he laughed at it. "What? Why are you laughing? Am I right? The last time I saw him, it seemed like his old man got mad at him. How old is he, huh? A grown-up man like him who has daddy issues was so funny."
He smirked, shaking his head. "Look, I have little to no idea what was going into his life. It was his indifference to his father. I just got here in Mykonos a few weeks ago as I have signed a modeling contract with my agency in Athens. I was just here to visit him and have fun while waiting for them to give me a project. I'll be out of this island soon enough when they got a job for me."
"I see. . . How did you become his friend then?"
"We met when our mutual friend introduced us to each other. We just became brothers and he welcomed me with open arms every time I visited Mykonos. He offered me a free stay in their resort."
"Oooh," I swooned. "Maybe you were the reason why his father got mad at him?"
He creased his forehead and looked at me quickly, confused as to why I would say that. He put his attention back on the road while trying to make sense of the statement I said.
"What do you mean?"
I chuckled. "Well, you were staying in their resort for free when they could be earning from their guests. His father might think Konstantin was gay because of you."
He laughed at it, shaking his head. "Now, I know you were just making all that up. His father knew me. I met him many times. I'm not gay. Kons not gay. We're just good friends. He wouldn't. . . Never mind."
"Hmm? What are you going to say?"
He shook his head. "Nothing. . . I just want to remind you again, don't do anything stupid, okay?"
I cock my left brow. "I won't. . ."
I didn't mind how long we were on the road, but when Franklin announced that we just arrived in the neighborhood, I started lurking around and there I saw by only looking at the window that rich people lived in this area. He drove into one of the huge mansions. As I thought we already parked the car so we could go inside, Franklin stopped me from getting out of the car when the gate in front of us automatically opened. I was surprised when I saw no one behind the ten-foot tall gate.
"What the fuck? He's that rich-rich?"
Franklin laughed. "Yup. That was the same reaction I had when he brought me here before. I felt like I shouldn't step foot in this place. If I haven't mentioned it yet, this car was his. . ."
"Oh. . . I see. . . Why don't you just admit you were his boyfriend?"
Franklin chuckled. "Oh, man. How can I make you believe we're not together?"
I shrugged off. "Well, I don't know. . . That's what I just know and what was I seeing. . ."
"Well, I guess you should know better," he said. "Once we got inside, I would see him first and then you'll take it from there. If you need me to give you a ride back to your place, I would do that. Let's just go inside first and then. . . Be ready."
"As I said, I'm always ready baby," I smirked proudly, even though I could feel my heart pounding so shallow.
When he drove the car inside, I couldn't help, but looked around and let my jaw drop on how luxurious this place looked like. Franklin stopped the car in front of the main door entrance where two people were waiting for us. We both got out of the car and a chauffeur took the keys from him and there was a maid who attended to assist us.
Franklin told the maid who we came here for. I was amazed when they got us in because of him. I guess, they were boyfriends. That was an easy pass for him. As we stepped inside the house, I was even more stunned by how huge and elegant it was.
The place was so bright with lights opened in the ceiling. The white walls were so bright and clean, and the paintings hanging on each side down the hall made the place look so intricate. Even the smell was like I was in a five-star hotel, obviously, they own multiple beach resorts on the island, and their home would smell like one.
"Liked what you're seeing?" Franklin asked.
"No, this is crazy!" I muttered, holding onto his arm as if I would get lost at any moment. "How many times have you been in here?"
"Not so much," he said. "I think this would be my third time here. . . Just like what I said to you earlier, I am staying in one of their beach resorts. I could only go here when he told me so. . . And clearly, he didn't, so I'm screwed."
"Don't worry, I'll save you on this one," I said, tapping on his arm just to let him know I decided to put him in this situation.
When we reached the living room, which was only one-eight of my apartment, the maid told us to wait while she would call her boss to let him know he had visitors. We sat down on the couch, and I couldn't help but look around. Above us, there was a huge chandelier. I think there were two more floors above us. I haven't been in this kind of place before.
"I hope everything's fine. . ." Franklin uttered.
"Everything will be fine," I added. "He's your boyfriend so he won't be mad at you."
He laughed at me, shaking as I persisted in calling them boyfriends. He noticed how I kept looking around. I was also surprised when another maid came to our spot holding a tray. On that tray, there is a pitcher of orange juice and two glasses. There were also small packets of brownies on the side.
We just looked at each other and I didn't mind if I looked so hungry, but I just grabbed one packet of brownie and poured some juice in my glass. When I asked Franklin if I should pour one for him, he declined. Later on, while I was munching on the small tasty brownie, the maid who came to assist us earlier went back without Konstantin. I started to wonder, but then she called Franklin to come with her as Konstantin requested to talk to him.
Franklin let out a sigh as he stood up. I stood up as well with so much confusion set in my face. "Wait. What about me? I was the one who needed to see and talk to Konstantin. Why does he only want to talk to Franklin?"
Franklin put his hand on my shoulder. "I'll talk to him first. Remember what I've told you earlier? He wasn't expecting any visitors today. I'll talk him out of it and hopefully, he will talk to you."
"No, he should talk to me. That was the only reason we came here."
"Yeah, yeah, Atissa. We'll make that happen. . . Just wait here for a moment, okay?"
I let out a sharp breath. "Fine. . ."
I went back to sitting on the couch while he followed the maid to wherever they would go. I was a little pissed off as this isn't what I expected to happen, but as I'm in his place right now, I wouldn't leave until I get to see and talk to him. I would make this place my home even if they would drag me out, I would stand on my drag. I can't just let someone fuck me and the ghost me after a few days. I won't let him do that.
As I was alone, I took all the brownie treats and put them all in my purse. These are all mine now. . . Or maybe, I could own something around here? They all looked expensive and glamorous. I could live with that.
