PROMPT 3 FORMS
This is for prompt three only. Entries are accepted until January 12th, 11:59 p.m. EST. You can reserve a spot before writing for the prompt, but please only do so if you think you can finish by the deadline. Do not hold slots from others who can meet the deadline.
This is being posted on the 5th so you have the full week to write, but prompt 2 entries are still being accepted up until 11:59 p.m. EST tonight, so don't worry, if you haven't finished prompt 2 yet, you still have time to do so!
Results for prompt 1 will release either today or tomorrow, so stay tuned for results real soon!
Please do not add unnecessary information to the form.
Poetry, short stories, and flash fictions are accepted. Word count limits for each:
Short stories - 2.5k to 10k
Poetry - 100 to 500
Flash fiction - Anything on or below 1,000 words
Those are hard limits, so any short stories below 2.5k or above 10k, poetry below 100 or above 500, and flash fics above 1,000 will be disqualified based on Google Docs' word checker, so please run it through Google Docs first to check.
Your link to the entry can be anywhere, so it doesn't have to be published on Wattpad. You can send us a Google Doc link if you'd like, as long as the permissions are set properly and we can see it.
Please do not back out after filling a form. Since this is meant to be judged within a week, you will be majorly inconveniencing us if you back out. If an unexpected situation occurs and you need to back out for whatever reason, please do so at least 48 hours before the weekly prompt closes (so, in this case, please let us know by January 10th).
Prompt 3 slots: Up to 25
Taken slots: 14/25
General info: Just so you know, you don't have to have the prompt word-for-word in your entry as long as it's clear your entry is based on the prompt. You can also tweak it where the prompt doesn't come until the very end of the story and things like that. You have complete creative freedom as long as it is clear the prompt impacted the entry. Also, you can reserve a slot without having to ask, don't worry! Feel free to fill out the form as long as you think you can finish within a week.
Prompt: It's snowing outside, but everyone's at the town square, ready to witness the grand celebration. You're at that New Year's party, too. Right before the clock strikes midnight, you hear a voice whisper in your ear, "I really think we can do so much better, so how about we try again?" The clocks strikes midnight, and everyone cheers for the new year as the date appears all around you: January 1st, 2020.
