Tasha'sPOV
I couldn't believe she'd gotten him in the end anyway. It wasn't fair! She wasn't supposed to speak! She was not meant to goddamn reveal that Giana- the mini-bloodwhore in the making- was his. She was meant to let Giana become my step-daughter! I would've then succeeded when filing for custody with Dimitri. But no, she just had to open her selfish mouth and reveal Dimka's affair with her, ostensibly ruining his reputation. Thanks to her lack of impulse control he just had to go from a slightly slammed and condemned marriage to a totally condemned and unacceptable one!
"Rosemarie Belikova!" happily screeched an excited Lissa. I watched on as she tackled her best friend and guardian into a hug. At the sight of the rings that had been so close to symbolising my marriage to Dimitri on her finger and Dimitri standing behind her with Giana perched happily on his hip... and the sound of Lissa constantly calling her Belikova or mrs or wife... I felt absolutely sick.
"Giana, how do you feel about Mommy and Daddy being married? And how nice is Daddy?" Lissa cooed with genuine curiosity and a warm smile. She really would make an amazing Mom when the day came, unlike her friend who'd been a child when a seasoned guardian and grown man had knocked her up.
The tiny mini-Dimitri beamed and giggled. And I begrudgingly found myself still thinking it was adorable and cute, that she was. But then again, she was his Belikova baby, she was nearly 100 percent him all over again in looks except for her nearly-black hair. Her personality on the other hand, was nearly 100 percent her mother's.
"Daddy is perfwect," she said sweetly. Dimka blushed under the high praise of his daughter. "I lub Mommy and Daddy together."
"Belikov, what's it like being a husband?" asked Christian as he emerged from the kitchen. "To Rose here, no less?"
As if Dimitri wasn't already radiating enough, he managed to brighten even more. "Well for now, it's brilliant. Especially because of Roza."
Rose turned unusually shy. "Comrade..." I hated that nickname! It had never made sense and had always elicited a reaction in him my 'Dimka' never could.
"Yes Roza?" Dimitri looked at Rose as if she were the meaning of life or something. He'd always looked at her that way. It was sick and wrong.
"Can't we unload the car, Giana needs to go down for her nap soon?"
"Don't you three want-" Lissa started and I was just left confused on top of feeling sick and heartbroken. But when Rose clarified I couldn't believe I had the capacity to feel so much sadder and that much more betrayed.
"We're here until we can find a house either nearby and outside the wards, or until we're accepted enough here at Court to be granted a house or apartment that's not a guardian dorm."
Translation, I thought, Dimka's retrieved his belongings to move in with that whore and their bastard child. This was all happening too fast! But then again, of course it was when he'd taken her as his bride on the day he was supposed to have taken me as his wife.
