Chapter 2:

Chapter 2 folks.

Also, I'd like to say, Lace is not a Yandere, no one in this story is a Yandere.

Some will just be a bit obsessive and protective.

I mean come on, a girl has a small obsession with someone and it automatically makes them a Yandere?

Guess that means Hinata's a Yandere.

I'm just not into Yanderes, at least I'm not into extreme Yanderes that will kill every single person just for looking at me or tie me up and keep me trapped.

Honestly, I never got the appeal of that, but whatever.

You and Lace had finally arrived at Peach's castle.

The both of you stood at the outer entrance with the drawbridge over the moat being up.

"Are you nervous (Y/N)?" Lace asked looking over at you.

"A little..." You replied with a chuckle. "It has been a while since I last saw the princess."

"I'm sorry that I cannot offer you comfort." Lace said sounding ashamed.

"Please Lace, you just being here is comfort enough." You said giving her a smile which made her place a hand over her chest to calm her rapidly beating her heart.

"Th-thank you (Y/N)." She stuttered. "It makes me happy knowing that."

"Like I said, you're my friend and you're one of the people I trust the most." You replied once again walking up to the moat.

"If only you knew how much that means to me." Lace thought walking up to the door as well.

You were just about to fly over the moat, knock on the entrance and ask the princess to lower the bridge for Lace when suddenly:

"HELLO!"

Lace immediately went on guard and gripped the hilt of her blade while you looked around to find the source of the voice.

"Up here!" The voice yelled again making you and your bodyguard look up as you hovered back beside Lace and landed next to her once again.

Up in the sky riding a cloud was none other than...

Lakituette:

"You must be the special guests Peach invited over, it's nice to meet you both." The girl greeted as the cloud flew down to your and Lace's level. "I'm Lakituette but you can just call me Laki."

"Oh, it's a pleasure, I'm (Y/N) and this is Lace." You introduced happily while Lace kept her guard up and glared at Laki.

"What is your business with my king?" Lace demanded slowly unsheathing her blade.

One of your disembodied hands however, flew over to her side and gently pushed the blade back into it's sheath while her hands were still on it.

"Oh, the Princess told me to keep an eye out for a cute, handsome spider guy and let him in when he arrives." Laki giggled making you blush a little and Lace glare at the cloud-riding woman.

"O-oh...okay then." You said looking up to avoid eye contact something Laki found cute.

"Yep and I'd say you more than fit that description." Laki flirted giving you a wink. "Handsome and cute are definitely what I'd use to describe you."

"W-well...coming from a beauty like you, it means a lot." You replied making Laki giggle and Lace grumble in jealousy.

"Okay okay, it was nice meeting you, but we really shouldn't keep the princess waiting now should we?" Lace asked and you realized that she was right.

"You're right, sorry Laki, but we should really go see the Princess now." You said while clearing your throat to regain your composure.

"Oh boo, I was hoping to get to know you better." Laki said with a cute pout.

"Forgive me, but who knows we'll meet again and then we can hang out." You assured making Laki smile.

The Lakitu girl then did something that shocked you and made Lace very angry.

She leaned in and gave you a kiss on the cheek.

Safe to say you and Lace were redder than a Maxim Tomato for different reasons.

You from embarrassment and Lace from rage.

"I'll be looking forward to it (Y/N)." Laki said with a wink before flying back towards the castle to lower the drawbridge for you both.

Meanwhile you stood there with a shocked look on your face as you caressed the cheek Laki kissed.

It had been some time since you were kissed at all, the only other time you were kissed was so long ago by...

"(Y/N), we should get in." Lace said snapping you out of your thoughts.

You saw that the drawbridge was down now and you and Lace could finally walk in.

"O-of course..." You stuttered shaking the red off your face and proceeding towards the front door of Peach's castle.

Lace let you pass her as she gave you a concerned look before sighing and walking after you.

Meanwhile:

"Okay, here you go." Peach said as she handed a letter to a Delivery Toad.

"Fret not Princess, I'll deliver this letter safely to Princess Daisy in Sarasaland!" The Toad said giving a salute.

This was a letter to Daisy informing her of your return.

Peach had told Daisy a lot about you and the Tomboy Princess really wanted to meet you.

"Thank you very much, be careful out there." Peach cautioned giving the Delivery Toad a pat on the head.

"Your highness you need not worry yourself, the mail will be delivered no matter what, this I promise!" The Delivery Toad declared before jumping out of the window through the glass much to Peach's shock.

The shock was from the fact that they were in her room...on one of the top floors.

"I'm okay!" The Delivery Toad yelled from outside. "THE MAIL SHALL REACH THE DAISY AND BE READ ONLY BY HER!"

Peach sweatdropped and stood there for a few seconds trying to process what happened.

Suddenly the door to her room opened and Toad stepped in.

"Princess, he's here!" Toad declared snapping Peach out of her thoughts. "He's waiting by the front door."

"O-oh, I'll go let him in." Peach said before running out of the room and downstairs.

Peach was extremely eager to see you again after all these years, she was sad when she heard you left, she always had a crush on you.

She couldn't wait to see how much you changed and what you've experienced.

Meanwhile:

You and Lace stared up at the front door of the castle you had just knocked on waiting for it to open.

You could have teleported inside but that would be rude.

Thankfully you didn't have to wait long as the doors opened.

You couldn't help but smile as on the other side of the door to greet you and Lace was your old friend Princess Peach along with a few Toads.

It had been so long since you last saw her and you had to admit, she grew up beautifully.

Her bright sky blue eyes, her shiny golden blond hair and fair skin.

Her elegant pink dress was perfect on her as well.

You remembered pink was always her favorite color and said color was in almost every one of her outfits.

You respectfully bowed to Peach.

"Your Highness, it's a pleasure to meet you." You greeted making Peach giggle.

"(Y/N), we're friends and you're royalty as well now aren't you?" Peach asked making you look up at her. "So there's no need to be so formal."

You rose from your bow and awkwardly rubbed the back of your neck.

"S-sorry...I thought since we hadn't seen each other in so long you'd be a little mad at me." You stated while 2 of your disembodied hands tapped their fingers together shyly.

"I was a little at first, but I mostly just missed you." Peach said walking up to you and giving you a hug.

"So...you said I was handsome and cute despite not seeing me in some time?" You asked hugging back and Peach once again giggled.

"I always thought that, even when we were kids." Peach said seperating a bit to look at you. "And that hasn't changed at all."

"Well, the same applies to you." You stated your Blush intensifying. "You've only gotten more beautiful since I last saw you."

This made Peach blush as well and place a hand on your cheek.

As this was going on, Lace stood there and while she did feel a bit of jealousy, even she had to admit this was adorable.

"Oh, who's this?" Peach asked finally taking notice of Lace's presence.

"Oh, this is Lace, my friend and bodyguard." You introduced.

"Oh, a pleasure to meet you Princess." Lace said with a graceful bow.

Peach smiled and gave a curtsy back.

"The pleasure is all mine, a friend of (Y/N)'s is a friend of mine." Peach said and they both rose again.

She once again turned to you and took your hand.

"Come on, there's so much I want to show you and so many people I want to introduce you to." Peach said pulling you inside.

You were relieved Peach wasn't angry at you and she doesn't seem to have changed that much from the girl you used to know.

She still seemed kind, caring and as bubbly as ever.

You wondered though, if she still had the same sass she always had as a child.

As you got pulled in Lace followed close behind and once everyone was inside the doors closed behind you all.

Within the castle you couldn't help but marvel at the interior as Peach kept pulling you along.

Castle Interior:

It wasn't that much different than from the last time you saw it, though the portrait of Peach was new.

Looking at the stained glass portrait of the princess you couldn't help but recall the stained glass portrait in your own throne room...though you wish you didn't.

You came to a halt and pulled free from Peach's grip staring up at the portrait with a solemn look.

Peach tilted her head in confusion at your sudden mood change while Lace gained a worried look as she knew exactly what the cause was.

Back in Floralia she offered to remove that accursed glass portrait but you refused as you just didn't have the heart to completely let go of her yet.

Lace understood, she really did, it was hard to let go of someone you cared about, especially someone you loved and it happened so recently in your case.

Still, she wasn't sure if keeping imagery of that woman was good for you.

"(Y/N)?" Peach asked worried as you kept staring at her portrait. "What's wrong?"

You snapped out of your thoughts and stared at Peach and then at Lace, both girls looked worried for you.

"Oh, it's nothing Peach, your glass window just reminded me of something." You said rubbing the back of your head and giving her a smile.

"Oh, what is it?" Peach asked curiously.

"We'll talk more once we're in the dining hall." You stated. "I'm rather hungry."

Peach still seemed a little worried, but brushed it off for now.

"Okay (Y/N), I'm excited for you to meet Maria and Louis." Peach said as she once again began guiding you and Lace to the dining room.

As you both followed along with the Toads Lace walked beside you and whispered:

"You know you can't avoid telling her right?" Lace asked.

"I'm not." You replied softly. "I just want to enjoy our reunion before I bring things down."

Lace seemed unconvinced but you assured her.

"Lace, I promise by the end of this, after we've eaten, she'll know." You stated.

"Very well (Y/N)." Lace sighed trusting you.

It's true, you really did plan on telling Peach how you became king.

It was only fair after all.

You left without telling her and stayed away for a really long time, so lying to her now and keeping things hidden would just be a scummy move.

That month you spent getting Floralia back in order was also time you spent steeling your nerves and gathering enough courage to actually tell her.

Before that, you wanted to eat.

"Thank you." You said nodding at Lace before placing a hand over your stomach. "I can't wait to eat, I didn't have breakfast this morning."

Hearing this seemed to shock Lace as her eyes went wide and stared at you.

"What?" You asked with a raised brow.

"YOU WHAT!?" Lace screamed suddenly shocking you, Peach and the Toads making everyone come to a halt.

"L-lace?" You asked extremely confused.

"What's going on?" Peach asked.

"Princess, (Y/N) did not have breakfast!" Lace yelled pointing at you and Peach herself gained a shocked look.

That shocked look then turned into a stern one as the Princess placed her hand on her hips.

"(Y/N), why didn't you have breakfast?" Peach asked sternly walking up to you confusing you even more.

"I-I was busy..." You stuttered nervously. "I didn't have time to eat..."

"BREAKFAST IS THE MOST IMPORTANT MEAL OF THE DAY!" Both Peach and Lace yelled as you and the Toads back up a bit.

Peach immediately grabbed your hand and began pulling you along much faster towards the dining area.

"We need to get food in your stomach right now!" Peach stated as she dragged you further into the castle.

Meanwhile:

Maria and Louis were waiting for the Princess to arrive trying their best to resist eating all the food and especially the large cake the size of a small house in the room.

To take their minds off the food they made small talk.

Well...Louis talked, Maria listened.

"So, what do you think (Y/N) looks like?" Louis asked trying to avoid looking at the cake.

"Hm..." Maria pondered before shrugging.

"Yeah, I guess we'll see, Peach did say he had 6 hands though." Louis said resting her head on her hand as she placed her elbow on the table. "So he's clearly not a human."

While Louis was happy to wait and see you for herself, trying to guess what you looked like helped with getting her mind off the food before her and her sister.

Another description of you from Peach was that you were quite attractive, at least in the Princess' eyes.

Suddenly, the doors to the dining area burst open catching the sisters' attention.

There by the door stood Princess Peach with you.

"I'd like to feed him some spaghetti!" Peach yelled out.

"Hello." You said softly with a small wave.

Once the initial shock wore off and the sisters noticed you they each had different reactions.

Louis went completely red in the face as she looked away to hide her Blush.

Meanwhile Maria simply narrowed her eyes at you and thought:

"He ain't touchin my Spaghetti."
