Part 5 - Another Letter
—Ginny's POV—
All through Headmistress McGonagall's speech and the opening dinner I couldn't stop thinking about Harry and Luna. She's bi, Wow, I can't believe I guessed that, but how do I tell Harry, that I'm breaking up with him. My thoughts weren't interrupted once, even when Neville spilled his pumpkin juice on my lap or when Hermione tried to get my attention, to tell me about some new book she'd gotten over the summer.
When the dinner was over and everyone else had eaten, a few of the students began heading back to the commons. I stayed in my seat stuck in thought, what do I do from here? Harry's been my everything for the last 7 years...he was my first true love and now I have to break his heart. Out of the corner of my eye I see Luna walking towards me, her blonde hair bouncing up and down on her shoulders, her tulip earrings with it and her peculiar glasses are perched on the top of her head. As she gets closer she says "Hey, Ginny are you okay? I saw you from the Ravenclaw table. You didn't eat anything all night and you didn't socialise with anyone." I look at her blankly "How bout I walk you back to the Griffindore common room." She says. I nod, and we walk off.
When we arrive at the painting of the fat lady I hug her goodbye, at first when we headed towards the common room there was silence I couldn't think straight. We talked and walked, tomorrow we will send Harry his letter, I know I'm not going to sleep tonight. I say the password as Luna wisks around the corner of the corridor. I smile and enter the common room.
Morning - September 2nd
After breakfast in the Great Hall, Luna and I meet at the bottom of the owlery. I couldn't eat anything, and I'm still so scared to send Harry his letter. We climb the stairs and when we reach the owlery, I remove the letter from my pocket, I was writing the whole night, I really didn't know what to say, all I knew was that it had to be done. Luna grabs my hand and squeezes it tightly, "You can do this!" She says, reassuringly. I take a deep breath and then it's all a blur, the owl flies off and without the slightest regret I turn on my heal and leave. I hear Luna mutter something about staying for a little bit and something about sending a letter to her dad. As I walk down the stairs I realise there is no going back.
—Luna's POV—
Once Ginny had left the owlery, I whipp out my letter, it's address to Harry Potter:
Dear Harry,
I've wanted to tell you this for ages but I feared you didn't feel the same way. I have feelings for you for a while now and I just wanted to tell you, how I felt before it's too late.
Love from,
Luna.
I can't do it, I think to myself, what about Ginny..? I stuff the letter back into my pockets, and run to catch up to Ginny.
