Chapter 30
Third Person POV . . .
As Jane lay unconscious under the cherry tree, while locked up in her nightmare, the match in the real world was becoming much more tense. Nearly everyone on the benches were on the edge of their seats, they could not help it when seeing Torch and Zues at their limits. The score was still a tie (2-2). The hole area was filled with silence, the match also dragged a huge group of audience around the field.
"I never thought the match would be this tense", Choi mumbled under his breath, as he eyed the two players on the field.
The intense glares the two wounded players were striking each other could have cracked the earth open, but suddenly Torch dashed towards Zues with his glare still plastered on his face. This game was turning into a battle, and not a natural friendly soccer match. For a split second he noticed a slight smirk appear on Zues' lips, but he ignored the strange behaviour, and dashed through the wind like a shining blade, and with each step bright, red flames surrounded him.
"You can smirk as much as you want! But I will not let you win so easily!", the frustrated red-head yelled, running past Zues, without the slightest effort. Zues kept standing still for a second, before swiftly stealing the ball from Torch, that none were able to see him even running. A wild smile emerged at Zues' face as he ran to the goalpost, but the unexpected happened. Torch was somehow able to match his speed, and easily stole the ball from between the wild boy's feet.
"Just so you know, A was training this hole time! And not sipping tea!"Torch's voice was filled with passion, determination, and confidence. Ever since he gave up on using the "Alias Rock", he was not only beating up bullies at the streets, but also always practising at the backyard of the orphanage "Sun Garden", along with Gazel. Every afternoon they would practice until one of them would pass out. It became a habit, but it also caused him to fall asleep during classes at Raimon Academy. All that hard work was not going to go to waste. He was not ready to lose the first person he cared about the most in hid life yet. Not Ever.
Just like that, he reached to goalpost himself, and scored the goal. He had no time to celebrate, and fell head-first to the ground. He did what he could, the rest was up to Gazel, Leo, and the rest of the Korean team. Leo hastened towards his team-mate, and shook him lightly, hopping he would not have to carry him to the infirmary on his back.
"Hey! Baka (idiot) don't die on me!", he yelled, shaking the red-head like a mad-hatter, until he received a straight punch in the jaw.
"What the hell?! I just finished an intense match! And I am still not allowed to sleep?!", Torch complained standing up, and brushing the dirt off his jersey.
Leo's eyes twinkled happily at his idol, and he punched him gently on the shoulder, whiole giggling at his friend's childish actions, but once they turned towards Zues, he was lying on the floor unconscious, while breathing heavily. All the joy left Leo's eyes, and he bustled to his cousin ; shook him with tears filling his sea-blue eyes. This time, he was not acting, he was actually worried.
"Zues! Zues!", he kept calling his cousin's name over and over again, but Zues did not move a muscle, and kept lying on the floor with a painful expression covering his face.
Leo kept sobbing beside him, but he was not the only one who had someone special. Not far, Gazel kneeled beside Jane's unconcious body, and gently placed a strand of her hair, behind her ear.
" Your not yourself, but I find a way to bring you back. After all, I still owe you alot more for saving me", he whispered, while smoothly stroking her pale cheek.
" It's taking over", he mumbled, staring at the purple rock dangling from her necklace.
He knew as much as Torch, that the Alias rock will slowly eat away her energy, before placing her life at stake, and causing her to forget how fun soccer is.
Once Torch noticed the silver-haired male, he rushed towards him, while stumbling a few times from fatigue. Torch's face went pale, once he noticed the dangerous state Jane was placed in.
" We have to go to the hopital, Now!" he ordered, carrying the sleeping girl on his back, and looked at his cold-hearted teammate with concern for the first time in a while.
" Y-yeah, Sure let's go", Gazel hesitated, standing up, and nodding determinedly.
He could not help the twinging pain in the center of his chest. Everything was happening so suddenly. This night was supposed to be a simple party, but suddenly it seemed as if the world turned upside-down, and the events took a terrible turn in his life.
In the end, Zues and Jane were taken to the nearest hopital. Things were wild in there, docters and nurses wood run around madly, and I would only be accompanied by Leo, Torch, and Byron. Leo seemed like the most nervous one between them, he was playing with his finger irritatedly, and was biting his lower lip painfully.
"Calm down kid!", Torch yelled slamming his had on the blonde's back, causing get him to moan in pain and agony.
" No need to be so hard on me! " Leo complained, streching his arms upwards.
" Not my fault your such a baby!", Torch yelled back, pointing an accusing finger at his team-mate.
"Why you-", before he could finish speaking, Byron slapped them both on their heads, and they both cursed under their breath in agony.
Gazel was unable to stop himself from giggling at the silly quarrel the three boys were having. So much has happened, and yet these three were able to make him laugh at the most regretful momments. Maybe it was not such a bad idea to have friends to cheer you up.
