Chapter 20

Third person POV  . . .

On their way back to the 'Fire Dargon' building, Jane kept sensing the presence of someone watching her, and it certainly was not Gazel.  The manager noticed the girl's uncomfortable expression, but thought it would be best to discuss things later. Gazel was aware as well, but he did not have the same patience as Belletrix. He tugged Jane's arm, and whispered coldly into her ear, " What's wrong? Having you worried about something will be a disadvantage to th team."
A small sigh escaped the girl's lips, and she turned to the street they just came from.
" I will catch  with you later, I have something to do", Jane did not give Gazel the chance to reject, and ran away into the distance. Without wasting a second, Gazel dashed after her, leaving Belletrix to drag all the bags of kimonos to the base.

Jane stopped in her tracks once she heard a crackling laugh echoing around her.
" It has been a while . . . .  Jane", the familiar voice sent chills down her spine, and she noticed a slim hand on her shoulder. She could not believe it, the man she thought was finally gone from her life has come back to haunt her.
" What are you doing here?", she asked venomously, brushing his hand off her shoulder.
The atmosphere was heavy, and Jane felt like she would just want to disappear. Another chuckle emerged from Ray Dark, and he patted the girl's head, with his devilish smile never leaving his face.
" I just need a small favour . . . .", Jane felt her body stiffen at his words, as she waited for him to continue. The tall man was pleased by the the girl's silence, and pulled a necklace out of his pocket with a smirk on his face.
" I need someone to test my new weapon, and I thought you or Jude would be the best choice", he said , dangling the necklace in front of the girl's face, and patted the girl's shoulder from behind. Jane's eyes were locked on the purple crystal dangling from the necklace. Her breathing became heavy, and she felt her throat running dry.
" What's wrong? Old memories? I thought you wanted to be stronger? Or did your love tangle?", he asked , swinging the little crystal left and right.
" That's not it, before I felt totally meaningless, but now I have teammates who need me as much as I need them", she replied, rubbing the small sapphire necklace around her neck.
" You really think you will be able to win your next game? You make me laugh", he replied, stepping in front of her with the smile vanishing from his face.
" Yes, all of us are practicing hard for the next game!", the teen girl replied defensively. Ray Dark simply chuckled, and took too steps towards her, before kneeling down in front of her, with the alias rock shimmering in his hand.
" You might understand once you play against ' Inazuma Japan', but for the mean time keep this with you, and I am sure you will use it when necessary", he said, handing the necklace to the girl, who hesitated for a minute, before accepting his gift.
" Just keep in your mind that I don't need it", she said with a straight face, shoving the necklace into her pocket.
" I will be looking forward to your games Jane", Ray Dark commented, as he walked away into the distance, but what the girl did not notice the familiar figure behind the shadow of a tree. Gazel was unable to hear their conversation clearly, but the one thing he surely knew was that the necklace had an alias rock attached to it. Doubt poured in his mind, was Jane going back to dark power? Will she let go of him, or will she reject the crystal? He could not determine what the innocent girl was up to, but he was certainly never going to let her go. Once Jane left his sight, he walked back to the 'Fire Dargon's ' base, knowing Jane will be in her room when he arrives

Jane's POV . . .

I was quite surprised to see Gazel at my door, and hesitaited to greet him.
" W-why are you still awake?", I asked, trying to break the awkward silence. He frowned at me, stepped inside, and shut the door with a loud *bang*
" Are you okay?", I asked, looking at his bandaged cheek, with worried eyes.
" It is pointless hiding it", he hissed , slamming his hand against the wall behind me, missing my face by an inch. My hreat was pounding mad, I was even holding my breath.
Gazel stared at me coldly, before moving his attention to my pocket, and looked back at me.
" I will never let go, so please don't turn to that twisted man", he whispered into my ear, and shoved his hand into my pocket. I flinched at his sudden action, his dull eyes were still locked with mine. ' He knows! He saw me with Ray Dark! What did I do?!', I argued with myself inside my mind. My eyes widened when he pulled the small alias rock from my pocket, and narrowed his eyes at me.
" I knew it . . . Your going to agree to his invitation", he hissed angerly.
" I am not taking it", I mumbled, my eyes following the necklace, as he gripped it angerly.
" Then why did you accept it?!", he shouted, his glare frightening every bone in my body.
Without thinking, I wrapped my arms around his waist, and buried my face into his chest , with tears of confusion emerging from my eyes, but I quickly stopped once I felt a bumpy texture under his shirt.
" Take your shirt off", I ordered, totally ignoring what happened a second ago, and placed a serious face on. He eyes widened at my order, and a look of uncertainty covered his face.
" Just do it already", I glared at him angerly. Something was defiantly wrong with him, and it wasn't embaresment, but fear and guilt. His hand left the wall, and he stepped away from me, but I took a step closer. His body froze in shock, but I kept taking closer steps, until I was able to hear his heavy breathing. His shoulders finally slumped, he let out an exhausted sigh, and took his shirt off, revealing his bandaged chest.
" You have no right to get into my business if you hide secrets from me", I mumbled, as flashbacks of him in Alias Academy appeared in my mind. I couldn't bear the horrid feeling rubbed my temples, as I trembled slightly, and fell to my knees.
" Jane?!", Gazel called my name, as him pulled me into an embarce, making all of the fear to slowly fade away.
" This is all my fault, if I never met you, if I never played soccer none of us would be in this situation!", I complained, with salty tears streaming down my cheeks. Gazel broke the hug, and cupped my cheeks in his hands, and said, " If you never met me, nor love soccer, I would have stayed heartless without any emotion". With those words, he whipped my tears with his hand, and pulled me closer to his chest, where I peacefully fell asleep , while hearing his heart's calm, steady beat.

Gazel's POV . . .

I stared at the alias rock, which laid on the ground untouched, and looked back at the innocent girl in my arms.
" I can't let you go, not now, not ever", I mumbled, shoving the purple rock into my pocket, before carrying Jane to the plain bed, placed a quick kiss on her lips, and exited the room hoping that things would be better next morning.
