Chapter 16

Jane's POV . . .

The sounds of my footsteps was the only sound to be heard through the hallways, it was as if nobody existed. A sigh escaped my lips once so reached Torch's room.
" Here goes nothing", I mumbled, before slowly opening the wooden door in front of me, with my plams feeling sweaty. Surprisingly, the room was extremely clean, no trash was to be seen on the floor, and the white, silk bed was neatly fixed. I couldn't help, but gasp at my surroundings. My eyes trailed to the corner of the room, where Torch sat with his hands rapped around his legs tightly, and stains of tears were seen on his face.
The atmosphere around him was dead scary. A dark shadow was covering his face, and he was bitting he lower lip painfully.
" Torch", I called to him, talking slow footsteps, while feeling the pulse of my heart becoming quick.
" Just go, I don't want to hurt anyone anymore", he hissed, with his dark aura turning more gloomy, and dangerous. I ignored his warning, and sat next to him with pity filling my eyes. Never have I seen Torch acting this way, it even made me on the edge of tears
" It fine. You don't have to worry", I whispered, giving him a kind smile to ease his pitiful mood, but for some unknown reason, he did not reply.
"Torch?", I patted his shoulder hoping to gain a reply. Suddenly, he wrapped his arms around me, and pulled me closer to his chest.
" Can we stay like this? Just a little more?", he begged, tightening his embrace, and weeped silently, with droplets of tears soaking into my shirt.

"No way! I thought you were mister aggnorant?! Get hold of yourself!", I shouted, pushing him away from me forcefully. The red-headed was stupified, with his sun-like eyes widening. His expression softened a bit, and he allowed one more tear to roll down his left cheek, before whipping it with the back of his hand.
"Snap out of it! I was simply running away!", he complained to himself, while slapping his cheeks, until they became red. One of the facts I discovered through playing soccer, was that if you let someone fall deeper into sadness, guilt, anger, or any type of negative mood, it will cause nothing more than chaos to the team.
"That's the Torch I know!", I cheered, ruffling his hair cheekily.
"Hai! Let's go practice!", my mind was astonished by the red-head's actions, and smiled satisfactionly.

Hour after hour passed, while me and Torch practiced in the empty field.
" Jane! ", Torch called, before making a long pass to me. The ball swiftly flew in the air, and my eyes were locked on it the hole time. Just when the ball touched the floor, I quickly dribbled it towards the goalpost without wasting a second.
" Thunder Wolf!!! ", I shouted, focusing all of my energy into the ball, and kicking it towards the goalpost with a huge lightning wolf behind it. I gently landed on the floor, and happily watched my shot dash into the net.
" Wow that was amazing!", the voice certainly did not belong to Torch, since it was much more lighter, and less rebellious. I turned my attention to the side of the field where the voice emerged from, and to my surprise I saw Leo, with a small grin on his face. Torch seemed astonished as well to see his fellow teammate, and managed to give him a huge grin somehow.
" I see you got better Torch! Is it okay if I practice with you?", Leo asked, running towards us, with his blond bangs swaying across his face.
" If you can keep up!", the red-head replied, and placed his hands on his hips proudly.
I decided to tag along with them, and said, " Hey Leo, don't let him get too aggnorent!".
The blonde gave me the thumbs up, and stood at the goalpost.

Third Person POV . . .

After hours of practice, all three friends collapsed under a tree, which was located beside the field. Each one of them was breathing heavily, because of their hard training.
" That was some practice, dont you think so Jane?",  Leo suggested, with his bright  smile plastered on his face.
" It sure was", Jane agreed, closing her eyes in satisfaction, and clicked her tongue.
" But let's not forget I was the best out there", Torch added, while brushing his fingers through his smooth, crimson hair. The other two teammates giggled at their friend's aggnorance, as sweat dropped from their chins, and was soaked into their jerseys.
" He surely doesnt like showing weakness",Leo commented, once she noticed the red-head slowly dozing off to sleep.
" Anyway, I have get going, and check on Gazel. You won't mind staying with him Leo, would you?", Jane asked, standing up, and waiting for the blonde's answer to take her leave.
" I don't mind! Once he wakes up, I will tell him to apologize to Gazel tomorrow! You have nothing to worry about Jane!", he replied, smiling brightly, with his blue eyes glisting like stars. The innocent girl gave her friend one last look, before walking back to the hallways, of the building.
