Sans knocked impatiently on the door to Alphys' lab. Ayu was barely conscious, her arm wrapped around Sans' back for support, and he was carrying his brother in his own. Surprisingly, the door opened within seconds. "I-I saw everything. C-come in." She said urgently. They walked into the lab, Ayu limping heavily on an injured leg. Alphys took a strange remote from a drawer under her desk, and pressed a button. The metal fence blocking the escalator opened up. It led up into a dimly-lit room, full of hospital beds, and what Sans assumed were life-support machines. He walked over to one of them, laying Papyrus onto it gently. Walking to the bed to its right, he did the same for Ayu.

After Papyrus' and Ayu's wounds were bandaged, Sans and Alphys sat in the first floor of the lab. She had shown Sans the footage of their battle. "how does she... i thought humans didn't have magic..." Sans questioned Alphys. "W-well... There is, um, one explanation." She started. "B-but... It just... Seems impossible." She continued. "what is it, alph?" He asked. "There's the p-possibility that she has monster DNA in her blood, and, um, possibly her soul..." She explained timidly. "I know it s-sounds stupid, but it's the most l-logical conclusion I've come to so far...". Despite the footage of the fight making it obvious, he was still shocked. The shy child he helped back in Snowdin was actually a half-monster hybrid. "As for Papyrus, h-he'll be fine... It's not r-really anything too serious." She said, giving him at least something to be happy about. "good. thanks, alph." He said, relieved.
