Blessings

Today I awoke

with heartbeat and breath

as my feet hit the floor

I thought to myself

What a joy to be blessed

to be loved and forgiven

Despite all the mess

By a God that I

    put to the test

He cared for me

    when I

    couldn't care less

I should be in Hell

But He saved me His best

My ticket punched

to Heaven instead
