October 2: Lira is 3

Ever since Lira turned 3 It's been hell.

It wasn't as much as when she was 2, but it's just as bad.

Lira recently started talking a lot. Talking non-stop and making problems non-stop.

I was in the kitchen making lunch when I heard a noise. I ran out the kitchen and saw Lira on the floor with pieces of a broken vase around her.

"Lira! What did you do?" I quickly grabbed her and placed her on the couch while I went to pick up the pieces. Right when I finished, she went missing.

"Lira?" I called. I ran over to the kitchen and I didn't see her. "Lira!" I yelled while running around the house. Then I heard the sound of moving chairs.

The only chairs in the house are the ones in the diner. Uhg...how is she so quick?!

I ran over to the diner to the see one of the chairs missing. I then ran over to the kitchen to see if she was there. "Lira!" I yelled while running to the kitchen. Then I saw her on top of the counter, trying to reach the cookie jar.

"Lira!" I quickly ran over to get her. I placed her down and knelled down in front of her. "Lira...you can't do that. You have to wait till you eat to have dessert. If you don't you might get a tummy ache."

"I want cookie." She said while pouting. I placed my hand on her hair and smoothed it back. "I'm sorry baby but...you can't have a cookie."

"I WANT COOKIE!" she yelled while trying to figure out which way to cross her arms. "Lira you-"

"COOKIE NOW!"

"No!"

"Cookie!"

"NO!" She then ran to the chair and knocked it down.

"COOKIE!"

She's acting like a demented child!

I calmly walked up to her and slapped her hand. "Don't do that."

"Cookie..."

"No."

She then pushed the chair again. "Cookie."

"Lira stop. You're not getting a cookie."

She then began to stomp and yell,"I WANT A COOKIE!!!"

"Lira stop!"

Only if she was older. I would slap the-- calm yourself Lucy.

I grabbed her shoulders and tried to make her stop jumping. "Lira, listen to me. No cookie. Stop being bad."

Her eyes started to tear,"But-but-but I want cookie!"

Then the door began to open. I looked over to the door and saw Natsu. "DADDY!!" Thank the lord. Who knows what I would've done...

"Hi my little burst of flames." He picked her up and threw her in the air. Then he caught her and he squeezed her tightly.

I walked over to them and sighed, "Hi, Natsu..."

"Whoa, someone's not happy to see me."

"Oh no, it's not that, it's just...Lira's been keeping me on my toes..."

"What did she do this time?"

"Cookies..."

"Cookies? Hah. Just like me. I love me some cookies."

"Well so does she. She loves them enough to throw chairs..."

"Chairs?"

I nodded my head and he began to laugh. "She's gonna be a fire mage," he said happily.

I glared at him,"She's not learning any fire magic."

"Why not?"

I opened my mouth to speak but no words came out.

This isn't an argument worth fighting over...

While eating lunch, Lira smiled at us. "Hmm...Isn't someone happy," Natsu cheerful said.

"YEP!" She shouted.

"Not too loud Lira..." I warned.

She gasped and covered her mouth with her hands. Then she placed them down and began to whisper, "My birthday is soon~"

Natsu chuckled and asked, "How did you know that?"

"I hear daddy and mommy speaking about my birthday."

I looked over to him and smiled at her, "You're right. Your birthday is in 2 days."

"Will I get lots?!"

I smiled and said, "Only if you're a good girl. Can you promise Mommy and Daddy that?"

"Lira Promises to be a good girl!" She said with a big smile.

*** October 4 Lira's birthday

We had Lira's birthday at the house like every year so far. She has no friends, none of my friends have kids, and I guess the reason for her not having friends is my fault. I guess I fell a little embarrassed of having a 4 year old kid at the age of 20. However, Levy did come over with her boyfriend. I still don't know his name, but a friend of Levy's is a friend of mine. I just hope he's nice.

Ding! Dong!

"Coming!" yelled Lira while running to the door. As she opened it, Levy came in with a open arms, reaching over to Lira.

"Hi sweetie. Wow, you've gotten so big!"

"Hi aunty!" Lira yelled excitedly. While Levy hugged her, I saw a big box arriving at the door.

"Hey Levy, how am I suppose to fit this through the door?" said an unfamiliar voice.

I looked over and saw a man with long black hair and multiple piercings on his face and arms. "Uh Levy...who's that?"

"Oh! That's Gajeel. He's gonna be your uncle Lira."

"Uncle?"

Uncle! What the-

"Gajeel, just leave it there." He dropped the box and we walked out to see what it was.

"IT'S HUGE!" Yelled Lira while looking at her rideable toy car. She quickly jumped in and started to experiment with it. "Wow, Levy...you didn't-"

"Calm down. It's all for my adorable little niece~ Besides, It holds 2."

"What's that suppose to mean?"

"It means, when she gets her little brother, she can ride in it with him."

"In a million years will I be popping out another kid."

"Okay, but you wont be saying that when you see how lonely she is."

I looked over to Lira. Does she really need a sibling? I mean, she does look lonely...but it really hurts to give birth!

Suddenly, Gajeel came up to me and showed me his hand, "Hi, I'm Gajeel Redfox. It's nice to meet you."

"Lucy. Lucy Heartfilia." Then Levy elbowed my shoulder and teasingly said,"More like Lucy Dragneel."

I rolled my eyes,"That'll be when we finally sign the papers."

"Where's Natsu?" Levy questioned while looking around.

"He's coming soon, he's getting the cake."

"Mommy! How do I work this thing?!" Lira pouted.

I walked over to her and grabbed the instructions. I looked at it and I was confused.

"Levy! Can you come here for a second?"

I looked at her and asked,"How do we work this?"

"Oh! We already set it up. All you have to do is press that petal and vuala!"

Lira looked at the floor and she tapped it with her foot. Then it moved. She looked at me with a surprised face. "Mommy...it moved."

Then she tapped it again and she started to drive.

Levy and I walked back to the house while Gajeel watched Lira. "So, do you know what type of magic she uses?" asked Levy.

"No...not yet. But, I'm hoping it's celestial magic."

"Why?"

"I want to give my kid my keys when I retire. Like my mom gave me her's."

"But what happens if she's not a celestial mage?"

"Well...I don't know."

I don't know why it bothers me to think that she might end up with fire magic...it might be because I want my little girl to be like me, but she's not...

I looked over to the window and saw Natsu. "Uh Levy, can you keep Lira distracted while I help Natsu set up?"

"Sure."

I ran out over to Natsu to help get the stuff in.

After the party, Lira started acting strange. We walked up to her and I whispered yo her happily,"We still haven't given you our gift~"

"Mommy, I want to have something really bad."

Natsu and I looked at each over. "What is it?" we asked.

"I want a brother."
