"Happy 50th reincarnation dearest! Are you finally ready to accept my help?"

50 times....she had died fifty times to the same shameful couple. You would think that Necroma would've been used to this after the first few times, but fifty times she had made a fool out of herself. This was getting out of hand very fast and it was all her ex-fiancé's fault!

Necroma was a proud user of dark magic, but she had to keep her passion hidden from the world. Her parents encouraged her to follow her dreams and attend the magic academy to find different magic to learn to protect her. However, she was hardheaded and continued to work in the shadows. When she got accepted into the academy, she would wait until after midnight to work on her darkest spells. Mind manipulation, necromancy, shadow creation, you name it, she could do it. None were the wiser and things were going well.

That is, until the perfect girl Blanche started noticing her dealings.

She was a commoner, but she had a fondness for light magic. She got into the academy on scholarship and was seen as a saintess of some kind. Her magic could heal the sick, wipe impurities, and bend light to her whim. It was this and her sweet nature that attracted Prince Sirius, her former fiancé, to her side and allowed them to fall in love. The two met in secret and the prince was planning to break off their engagement to finally date her. However, Blance had found her on the night of graduation casting a spell on the prince to curse him for his betrayal. She stopped her and promised not to tell the prince that she was planning to curse him.

Like a dullard, Necroma believed her.

At the graduation ball, Necroma was surprised to find herself being burned to the stake by none other than Sirius and Blanche, who cried fake tears as she burned alive. Angered by both of them getting off scot-free, Necroma uttered one last spell to make sure that she could get her revenge on both of them. She closed her eyes and allowed the fire to take her away, offering her soul in exchange for her wish coming true.

When she awoke, she was back in her body at the beginning of the school year.

The first ten times she followed the same things to avoid suspicion and mercilessly bullied Blanche. She cast many spells on the girl, but they would cancel out since she was pure and loving. Once people heard she was bullying her, she was expelled and banished from the kingdom. Necroma thought she was free from her death but found herself being chased down by the prince and killed.

The next ten were spent on trying to romance the prince on her side. Before Blanche could enter the picture, she placed a hypnosis spell on the prince to make sure he stayed by her side. This worked well until the graduation ball. Five times Blanche broke the spell by kissing him and the other five times she cast a counter-spell that broke the trance. Like the first death, she was burned alive.

The thirties were spent avoiding the two of them and finding an abandoned dorm for her to practice perfecting her magic. She was going mad from the constant deaths and wanted to find a way to reverse her fate. This was when she summoned the dark spirit Astros, who instantly took a liking to her. Astros were annoying and sly, killing her every time she showed weakness. This worked for the first three times before Necroma managed to find a slave seal spell and bound them together. Now, when she died, he would be reincarnated with her. He commended her for thinking on her feet, intrigued by what else she would do. And so, a partnership was born. Avoiding the plot made Necroma a saner person. She watched from the shadows as Blanche and Sirius got together, secretly waiting for a chance to get them back. This time though, she was poisoned on the night of the ball by the vengeful Clarissa, Sirius' sister who hated her guts and attended the school. Another time she died from being pushed down the grand stairwell by the prince's right-hand man, Sir Urgel. The final time she was run over by Blanche's friend at the academy, the girl claimed that she was in the way of their relationship.

Cycle forty saw Necroma obliterating the academy out of spite. How was it that she tried her best to make face and stay out of the way only to meet her untimely demise? She took Astros' advice and used her magic to slay all who stayed there in anger and got rid of Sirius four times. This time, her undoing was once again Blanche, who was empowered by the Goddess of Light. She shot a beam of holy light at her, burning away her entire body. This occurrence became common as she was killed in different ways during this cycle by the pure maiden. Astros even took over her body in the final death, being defeated by the power of love with Sirius and Blanche.

So here they were, fifty deaths in, and still no revenge plot. Necroma was getting tired of being reincarnated and was getting bored of the constant string of death. She sat at her desk with Astros floating about her head, his black hair covering her eyes as they tried to formulate a plan to kill the power couple. Multiple papers were on the desk along with voodoo dolls of the power couple, magic potions, and magic books.

"Astros..." Necroma started, rubbing her eyes. "There's no way to put this, but I think we've been tackling this issue wrong."

"Whatever could you mean dearest? I tried beating them, you tried outsmarting them, and we tried not bothering them. I think someone just wants you dead." Astros pointed out, propping his arm to the side.

"No I mean, we always get defeated at graduation and it's either by one of the two, both of the two, or one of their friends. Maybe instead of trying on the same day, we shoot for another day to get the two entirely!" Necroma went to the window, staring down at the students. "The school has nothing to do with my numerous deaths, but some outside force is preventing me from killing those two! They know I always try at graduation, so let's trip them up a bit." Smiling to herself, she fixed her hair up and made herself look good. "I know exactly when to do it."

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Prince Sirius, I think we should break off the engagement."

Necroma felt great standing in the gardens with him, arms crossed and eyes staring at his soul. The young prince that had killed her in multiple timelines stared in shock at her words. His kind face was a façade when she thought about it, causing her to drop her guard all those times before. Now he stood there, being dumped before the due date of her demise and before that pure maiden came to academy. Astros stood in the shadows, waiting as backup to swoop in and save her if the prince did anything rash.

Sirius coughed, feeling a bit perturbed by this revelation. "Is there a particular reason why you are asking me this?"

Necroma's face fell as she tried not to roll her eyes. "I just think you'll meet someone better than me in a few days and I don't want to feel like....dead weight." She gulped at her choice of words. "Besides, you have no feelings for me and nor do I feel anything for you anymore. Quite frankly, I wish you were dead and buried along with your fake attitude. Kindly step out of my life and never come by me again."

Now the prince was fully shocked by her words and grabbed her hand as she tried to walk by. "What has gotten into you Necroma? I never heard such vulgar language come out of that mouth of yours before! It is as if you are possessed by some demonic entity."

Necroma turned back and snatched her hand away. "I practice dark magic enough to know that it is you with the black heart here. I'm disgusted by you and I wish not to be with you anymore. I hope you have a good life with whomever you give your heart towards."

There was a pause that caused the air to grow cold around them. "You practice dark magic?"

Necroma knew the prince hated dark magic users, deeming them all to be evil wretched people that deserved nothing but death. As far as she knew, she was now evil and wicked in his eyes as of this moment.

She could care less though.

"So what? Not like you ever took interest in me long enough to know. I literally read books with dark ancient spells in them with you all the time. You practiced swordplay while I practice raising the dead. You made political alliances, I made spirit bonds. You've killed more people in your witch hunts than I ever did with my magic. The only difference between you and I is that I am not afraid to admit that I have done." Necroma smiled darkly as clouds started forming around her. "Some prince you are, a false prince who commands people to die for him. I'm sure you and that light magic wench will have a good life together while you continuously dance on my grave."

Sirius went to reach for his sword, but was stopped when shadowy tendrils grabbed his hands and legs. Necroma nodded at Astros, who manipulated the shadows and started to drag Sirius underground. The spirits holding onto Sirius were ones of the various dark magic users he knowingly slaughtered, wanting revenge on him as well. Necroma had learned from them that the prince unjustly killed them all out of petty revenge himself. Funny, the man she thought she knew to be smart and nice was just as evil as she was. She took pleasure into watching him be dragged to his personal hell while he pleaded with her to release him. Necroma turned the other way as Astros embraced her from behind and kissed her forehead.

"Ahh~! That was so pleasant dearest! The prince's screams are music to my ears!" Astros' eyes glowed brightly. "Now what about the light magic user?"

"Hmm....she should be here soon enough. I should prepare myself for her arrival." Necroma said before dodging a beam of light to her surprise. "What?"

Standing on the bridge in front of her was none other than the angry form of Blanche. Her eyes were glowing gold, meaning that the Goddess of Light was inhabiting her body. Said girl shot arrows of light that immobilized Necroma to the tree behind her. Astros vanished into the shadows, awaiting further instructions while growling at the appearance of the girl who killed him timelines ago.

"Necroma Necros, why won't you just accept your fate and die with dignity?!" The Goddess said through Blanche, walking forward. "How many times do I have to kill you before it gets through your thick head that you need to be dead so that Sirius and I can be together?"

Instead of being angry, Necroma just rolled her eyes. "Just how delusional can you get? You've killed me fifty times and got what you wanted already. What's the point killing me again?"

"No matter how many times I kill, you keep coming back! I've tried even killing you through my various characters. I wrote you out to die , so stay dead so that I can be together we Sirius!"

"Oh him? Yeah...he's dead now. Atoned for his past sins and everything." Necroma snapped out of her bonds, surprising Blanche as she backed up. "I figured out your little death games and how well you time them. I killed Sirius before you had a chance to show up, got better at my abilities to surprise you, and lead you right into my trap."

Before Blanche could reply, Atros appeared behind her and stabbed her clearly in the heart. Blanche's body immediately tried healing itself, but he continued to stab her multiple times with the poisoned dagger. Her healing powers couldn't keep up as the poison coursed through her body as a powerful light erupted from the now dead corpse. The Goddess, who was no more than a regular reincarnated writer, tried feeling through the time stream, only for black chains to wrap around her body. Necroma smirked as her soul was finally dragged to the Underworld. Atros hugged her body with glee, clapping as Blanche's body fell to the ground.

"Hooray! We got the jump on her while she was in her weakened state!" Atros pointed casually at the body. "What do we do now? I'm certain this time will be different since we killed the bastards beforehand."

For the first time in her life, Necroma felt free. No more having to plan, no more panicking, no more stress. Tears sprung from her eyes as she hugged her spirit friend.

"I'm just so happy to be alive."
