A/N: Alright, this book just reached 1K reads.. THANK YOU ALL SO MUCHH AAA!- I did not expect that- Anyways.. for that I made a new twist.. ;))

Also, the story starts after 2 hours because of them getting ready for the day and stuff from the previous chapter, as well as trying to know how to use their tablets.

Summary: Veteran being jelly all over again- some.. new things starting.. and.. flashbacks?

Warning: Cringiness might be experienced cause, this whole book probably is cringy at it's finest anyway-

(Also, one of the scenes are inspired by some aul books as well!)

• Veteran's POV

[Current Time: 7:09AM]

"So, what tasks do you have?" I asked Player. Player takes out his tablet and checks. "Oh, my first one is in Medbay, Inspect samples?" Player says. "Alright, let's head there first then let's go to Admin, I have swipe card there." I said. Player nods in agreement. "Okay! Let's go!" Player says.

We both went to MedBay and Player started inspecting each bottle sample to see which one was poisonous for the crew or which one isn't.

As Player was inspecting the samples Captain came in, from what I remembered.. he doesn't have a task in here.. Why would he be here?...

Captain walks over to us or.. to Player specifically..

"Hey Player! What're ya doin?" Captain asks Player. Ugh, can't he just leave us alone for 1 second? God he's annoying.. wait.. what the hell.. I thought. Player looks over to Captain. "Oh, hey Captain! Just uhh.. inspecting these bottle samples." Player says.

I have no idea why but I really don't like Captain, he's just- annoying for me.. especially when I just wanna be alone with Player he just randomly comes out of nowhere like some type of NPC in a game.

"Ooh~ need some help?" Captain asks. "Oh! No I'm-" But before Player finishes his sentence, I interject. "He doesn't need help from you." I said. I quickly realized what I said and apologized.. what's wrong with me today what the heck- I thought.

Captain didn't seem offended tho.. he seemed to enjoy it? Man, people here sure are weird- not that I'm not..
Player sure was confused tho.. great- way to go Veteran.

"O-kay.. anyways.. I don't really think I have a task in here so.. I think I'll go BUT! I have a question for Player before I go." Captain says. "What is it?" Player asks. Captain was for some reason smirking?.. Uhh..

"Wanna hang out later, Player?" Captain asks. For some reason I really did not like the sound of that.. "Well.. I was suppose to hang out with Veteran today.." Player says. "Yeah, so you can't hang out with him." I said, a little bit defensively.

"That's alright, I do still have to do other uhh.. Captain-ny stuff anyway." Captain says. "Alright so uhh.. can ya go now?" I said. I once again, quickly realized what I said and apologized. I need to get a mental help check, or probably a therapist now.. I thought.

"Okay- Well then, See ya Player!" Captain says while walking away. "Bye Captain!" Player says while waving. "Mhm, bye." I said, plainly.

When Captain left, Player went back to do his task.

• Player's POV

Okay.. that entire scenario was- definitely weird..

I got a little bit confused? It seems like they were both fighting in some way?? Okay..

I was finally done with inspecting the bottle samples and threw out the poisonous bottle sample.

I decided to ask Veteran what that whole.. fiasco was about since it seems like he was upset with Captain for somethin'.

"Veteran, what was that about??" I asked. Veteran looked shocked I asked about it and crossed his arms. "It's nothing." Veteran says. I'm no idiot. "Sooo.. you think I'm an idiot?" I asked. "What? No!" Veteran says. "Obviously you were mad at Captain about something, what is it?" I asked while putting both of my hands in my hips.

For some reason he.. hides his face with his free hand?? I'm- confused.

"Just- He's just annoying me as all.." Veteran says. "What is he annoying you with exactly?" I asked. Veteran finally shows his face again and sighs. "Nothing.. nevermind, let's just- go to Admin already, you're done already aren't you?" Veteran asks.

I sighed. "Fine, and yes, I'm done." I said. "Alright, let's go.." Veteran says. He takes my hand and leads me out of MedBay. We both didn't really talk during that moment since.. we just didn't, it would be awkward to start it at that moment anyway..

We got to MedBay to see Bro swiping his card, Ninja was next to that line. Great.. we're gonna have to wait for those two to be done now.. I thought. Me and Veteran went at the back, the back of Ninja. Veteran get's closer to me and whispers. "Aw man, this is gonna take forever!" Veteran whispers.

I sighed. "Yeah.. probably." I whispered back. Once Bro was done swiping he quickly left and I don't mean just walking, he straight up ran! Poor guy, he really doesn't wanna talk to Ninja after that.. morning. Ninja took his turn to swipe his card, it took him only once to ace it. I was a little shocked since it takes a while for the scanner to really respond.

"Dude, how did he do that?" Veteran whispers. "I have no idea." I whisper back. Ninja left the room as well, leaving me and Veteran alone in Admin.

"Alright, my turn!" Veteran says. He took his keycard from his side pockets and started swiping, of course he didn't make it first try unlike Ninja.

*+ 10 minutes later..*+

That kept repeating for a while now..

Veteran seemed like he was about to break down in anger by any second now.. I do not wanna see that happen. "I.GIVE.UP!" Veteran says. He suddenly smashes his head on the table causing him to take a step back and put his head on the wall, he wasn't bleeding tho.

I quickly ran to him, worried. "VETERAN WHAT THE HECK?!" I exclaimed, worryingly. Veteran's head was down so he had to shot his head up to see me properly. "Uhh.. I'm fine!" Veteran says. Clearly, he wasn't. I helped him back up, he seemed to be struggling with balancing himself.

"Vet, don't do that.." I said calmly. He quickly had a confused face all over him. "V-Vet??" Veteran asks. "Oh, sorry! Heh, thought of a new nickname y'know?" I said. I was just actually lazy to pronounce his full name as all but.. if I'm honest.. the nickname I gave was pretty adorable. Wait- adorable?- alright, I seriously need to get an alone time with me and myself only later- I thought.

"Ohh, alright.." Veteran says, he was still a bit dizzy from smashing his head onto the table, kinda surprised how it's not bleeding or having any external injuries on his head at all.. he's THAT strong??

"Anyways.. time to get this over with.." Veteran says. Once he finally got his balance back he once again tried, and failed. He let out a sigh.

"Yep, I'm just go-" But before he can finish his sentence; I went over to him and helped him.

I put my hand on his hand where his keycard was, swiftly and smoothly glided his hand across the scanner and..

Card Accepted

Those two words are the only things I and Veteran probably wanted to hear.

I took my hands off his and smiled at him. I was just so happy that grueling 10 minutes of him suffering was over since- I don't think anyone would wanna see their best friend suffer, y'know?

• Veteran's POV

"Yep, I'm just go-" But before I can finish my sentence he went over to me and.. wait what-

He puts his hand on top of mine where I'm holding my keycard then..gracefully glides it through the scanner..

I felt a warm sensation in my cheeks.. I was pretty much blushing? It's confusing.. WHY AM I BLUSHING WHAT THE FU- I thought.

I don't know why I was blushing either, it's not like I like him nor anything so I have no idea what's going on..

Card Accepted

Once I heard those two words come out of the scanner's speakers Player took his hands off of mine. Until now, I was blushing but just a bit, not as noticeable.

Player after then smiles at me which- is probably one of the purest smiles I've seen in a while other than that time Captain was jumping after finding out Stoner stopped smoking.

Okay, that is just adorable.. I thought. "Uhh.. Thanks.." I said. "Yeah, no worries!" Player says. After that whole.. scenario of events, I store my keycard back to my side pockets and went along with the day.

We both left Admin.. I was still thinking.. why the hell did I blush at that moment?

I made it to the conclusion that it's just because he helped me and I felt really pleased about it, nothing else.

*+ 4 hours later..*+

2 more tasks to go..

Me and Player have done two out of four of our tasks.. mine probably took longer ever since that Admin fiasco happened, Although, Player's task in Electrical took longer. It took him 20 minutes to figure out how to upload data, I basically had to help him do so.

After helping him out it took an extra 10 minutes to wait for the data to get uploaded and downloaded into his tablet, Meaning that the entire process of just downloading and uploading files and data to your tablet tales 30 minutes! Crazy right?

Those 10 minutes were just us talking about our tasks, how hard they were and something related to those.

He wasn't as pissed when it comes to these things, he was more chill then I was. Although he was still upset and said some- not really nice things at least he didn't injure himself like I did- I kinda like that, being a ragequitter is the last thing I wanna become by the time I lose to him in games; I'd rather stay mellow and neutral.

Sometimes, the others would also have the same tasks as us so we have to wait for them. We also met Greaser on the way, needing to do a task in Communications.

Player and Greaser definitely did not like each other, they almost had a fight.. I had to stop those two before one of them decides to throw punches, Player may look like a softy, but he's damn strong..

I can confidently say that after- that day- After comforting me and all.. he went to Greaser- and oh boy.. Greaser won't be forgiving Player after getting beaten up by him anytime soon.. and Player's only 5'5! And Greaser's literally 5'8.. Player sure knows how to fight better than I do.

Overall, the first day doing our tasks? Not bad..

It was kinda tiring but.. tomorrow will be much more tiring.. Since I, the task giver gives the tasks I know what or which tasks everyone has to do. The first day will have 4 tasks for each crewmate to train them and let them start out, the second day tho, we will have 5 tasks, and that's gonna be for everyday.

Some tasks may be shortened then the others but some tasks may be longer.

That might not make it easy for us but I'm sure we'll get through this mission.. as long as we finish it.. and we arrive to those two exoplanets.. we can get through this.

Once me and Player were done doing our tasks we both decided that- we were too tired to even hang out at this point, I mean.. we both would love to hang out after a pretty long while of doing our tasks but we both know that we'd rather have some aline time for our leisure hours.

We both headed our own dorms, feeling relieved and relaxed that half the day was over.

• Player's POV

We were finally done with our tasks, it sure took a while..

I went back to my dorm, feeling down. I guess I lost a lot of energy from just doing tasks huh? Great.. now I wonder what will happen tomorrow when we get another extra task..

I decided to use my leisure hours just to relax, and not stress about what will happen tomorrow cause that might mess me up.

As I was laying in bed, clothes changed. I was wondering what to do during my freetime.. What could be fun and interesting to do?.. I thought.

Then I thought of something, music!

Sometimes when I'm bored I strum my guitar, yes I play the guitar. I play it usually when I'm bored or wanna vibe to music that I strum myself!

I walked over to my closet and took it out.

The guitar was given to me by a special someone.. a special friend of mine whom.. I guess you can call him my actual first friend, if they didn't leave me.. I could have had an actual friend back then..

The guitar was dark red and had wood for it's material. It was a Ukelele. Though what makes it special is the crown sticker on it.. it's the last thing he added before leaving me..

*+ Flashback +*

(BEFORE WE GO HERE.. Player does not remember his friend's name nor face because he was in a certain accident back then, you will see in sooner chapters!)

"NO! Y-You can't go.." I said.. "I'm sorry.. but I have to.." someone says.

"B-But.. why can't you stay?.." I asked. He thinks for a moment. "My dad.. we have to go to another country if- if you get what I mean by that.." he says.

Whom was I talking to? My friend.. his dad got a new job somewhere else.. meaning he had to leave me behind.

"Why d- do you need to go?.." I asked once again, tears falling down from my face. My friend's crown shattered seeing me that way..

He came over to me, hugged me as tightly and comfortingly as possible. "I promise one day, one day we will meet each other again.. I promise it this time Alex." My friend said.

Who is Alex you may ask? That was my name. Player is just another name you can call me.

"B-But.. what if we don't meet again?" I asked him, sobbing in his arms. "I'll make sure we meet Alex, I promise you.." My friend said, tears also falling down from his face.

We both let go of each other.. he suddenly took something from his luggage, a.. guitar?..

I knew how to play the guitar.. he knows that as well.

"Alex, this was gonna be my gift to you for your.. birthday but.. it looks like It's gonna be an early birthday gift huh?" My friend says. He gave it to me and I took it from him and started crying even more.. I didn't want him to go..

The guitar was dark red, it had wooden material and also had a little sticker my friend always has in almost every item he owns, a crown sticker. He would always have that sticker to everything..

"T-thank you.." I said. "Don't cry.." My friend says. We both hugged each other for the last time.. tears were also in his eyes.

"Come on! We gotta go!" My friend's mom says. We both let go, he smiled at me and.. so did I.

He ran towards his mom, luggage in hand and waved at me goodbye.

"Goodbye.. Alex.." My friend says.

"I- goodbye.." I said, waving my hands. I was still crying..

Dum saw me and ran towards me. She tried comforting me as hard as she can but.. I will truly miss him.. my first friend.

My eyes were prickled with tears.. I wiped them with my hands. I started playing my guitar, no, his guitar..

I played my guitar, strumming songs.. I used to play for him.. we would always play and sing a bunch of songs.

Sometimes, we would dance together as I play, sure I wasn't able to dance properly while playing but it was enjoyable nonetheless.

We both would sing songs for hours, dance as I play with my old ukelele back then. It was probably the fondest memories I have with him..

Just singing songs all by myself makes me feel.. lonely. I just wish.. we can see each other again.. maybe soon?..
