Chapter 2

The Host Club

Since then, Haruhi and Rei had been together for the most time, making the Hitachiin twins jealous. Why was Haruhi spending time with the CEO of such a big company? 'He' isn't much different from them. Rich, tall, heck, even handsome too.

"It's just that he's quieter than both of you. And we actually share some interests," Haruhi told them with a straight face. The girls and even some of the teachers have been shipping Haruhi and Rei. Rei was full aware of that but she doesn't know about Haruhi. She was expecting attention but not this plenty.

The twins eyed Rei, up and down. "Hmm... We should ask boss if he can enter the Host Club."

"Host Club?" Rei asked, removing her earphones. While Haruhi and the twins were talking, she was in her seat reading the book and listening to music quietly. To the girls and the twins, there was a kind of aura that makes her look aesthetic.

"Yeah, Host Club," Hikaru said.

"Come to Music Room #3 later," Kaoru added.

"Haruhi, why don't you bring him there?" The two said in sync.

Haruhi sighed. "Fine. But if he doesn't want to come then he won't."

I don't mind, Rei thought, I have a few hours after school before work.

"I don't mind coming," she told Haruhi. Haruhi looked at her with the same straight face she was wearing a while ago.

"Let me tell you they're the most stupid people I've met."

"That's fine."

Haruhi sighed in defeat. "Don't say I didn't warn you."

They walked the hallway of the third floor towards the last room at the end. As they approached, Rei could see an ordinary pair of doors with a much more paler pink that almost looks like white. Before they entered, Rei pressed his cheek against the door and heard nothing. She turned to Haruhi.

"There isn't any noise inside," Rei said.

"Then they're surely there," Haruhi replied, opening the door.

At once, a bright light covered Rei's vision as rose petals showered on both her and Haruhi. Some were stuck on her hair and clothes which made her look like she ran through the rose garden.

Everyone was looking at her.

"Hikaru, Kaoru, is this the man who you were going to recommend?" The blonde host king asked with an incredulous look on his face.

"Well that never happened before," The raven-haired manager said as he glanced up from his notebook and look at Rei.

Haruhi was helping Rei remove the petals on her. Hikaru and Kaoru were looking kind of jealous in the background.

"He looks handsome, doesn't he, Takashi?" A cute voice from the 17-year-old martial arts master asked his tall, raven haired cousin.

"Hmm."

"My name is Suoh Tamaki, as you might have known since I am quite famous, the King of the Host Club." Tamaki waltzed towards Haruhi and Rei who had just finished removing the petals.

"Kyoya Ootori. Pleasure to make your aquiantance, Mashida-san." Kyoya introduced with a smile. Probably thinking of... you know... business.

"Rei-chan!" He was tackled by Honey making both of them fall. "I'm Mitsukuni Haninozuka! You can call me Honey!"

A tall shadow casted down both of them making both of them look up.

"Mitsukuni." He said and picked Honey up. Honey rode his back.

"Oh right! This is my cousin, Takashi! You can call him Mori!" The hyper blonde introduced cheerfully.

"Uhuh..." Rei said slowly still sitting on the floor.

Haruhi helped Rei stand up. "Guys, one at a time. It wasn't like this when you first met me."

"That was because we thought you were gay," the Hitachiin twins answered, now having the straight face. Haruhi sighed as Rei dusted himself. She looked at Tamaki.

"Suoh... Tamaki."

"Hmm?" Tamaki looked at her with a smile.

"Son of the Superintendent?"

"Yes. Also the President of the Host Club and known as the Host King," Kyoya interjected.

"I wasn't asking you." Rei shot Kyoya a cold glare. Kyoya looked surprised for a moment but composed himself. The hosts went silent. It was the first time that someone made the Shadow King lose composure with a glare.

"I, erm... Yeah," Tamaki answered unsurely, glancing at Kyoya.

Rei sighed and shook her head. "Should have known..."

"Should have known what?" Haruhi asked, half-oblivious to what was happening.

"Should have known that the Superintendent's son would own a club like this." Rei sighed once again. "Now I know why you warned me."

"Warned you about what?"

"That you guys are a bunch of idiots," Rei replied.

"Not all of us," Hikaru said.

"He's the Baka King," Kaoru followed.

"I'm not an idiot!" Tamaki exclaimed. Hikaru and Kaoru just shrugged.

"Do you want to join?" Haruhi asked.

"I'm sorry, but I refuse." Rei started walking away, Haruhi following shortly.

"He... refused?" Tamaki blinked.
