You knew Ichimatsu in high school since freshman year. However, you two barely talked. He was always quiet and shy though some perceive him as rude and lazy. At first, you thought of him as rude and lazy too. You would see the times people have tried to say hello to him and he would never say hey or wave back. He would bump into you and never say sorry. One of those times you almost tripped and he looked at you, then looked back and walked away as if nothing happened. He would always wear a purple sweater and barely participate in gym class. Sometimes you'd find him staring at you with a frown and dead eyes.

 However, those times were in freshman year. In sophomore year, you both were put in some similar classes. You had 4 periods with him if you include lunch. The other 3 were math, English and art. Then. that's when your perspective of him started changing.  He was unproblematic and would be a pushover. He let others copy his work and just did what others told him to do most of the time. 

You caught him staring at you with a frown on his face. You mouthed "what?" He didn't react. You both were sitting across each other working on an individual assignment. You snapped his fingers at him and he blinked and had a confused expression.

"Whats wrong?" you asked. He widened his eyes and apologized.                                                                   "I was lost in thought.. sorry if I stared at you in the wrong way, I'm just so tired," he said. You nodded and said it's okay with a smile. He really wasn't so bad after all. You realized this was the first time you two have talked and smiled at yourself. A few days later you were walking your way home. You stopped at an ally, seeing cats. You looked around and saw nobody was around. So you walked in. 

You were petting them and they looked so happy. They were strangely clean and looked well-fed.           

"Someone has been taking good care of you guys huh? So cute aww wook at who's a good kitten? you are!" you said to them. You giggled to yourself. After you said that though, one paw punched you on the face. Later on, they were purring and you had fun with them. You were unaware of how much time has passed however. 

It;s been 30 minutes and you noticed how the sky started to change. You waved the cats goodbye and exited out the alley. You looked behind you and spotted Ichimatsu. You wanted to say hi but he had his headphones in while looking at his phone. He was also holding a bag that had a cartoon cat stamped on it. You squinted your eyes figuring what it was but looked away as soon as you noticed Ichimatsu's face starting to look away from his phone.

As months passed, you and Ichimatsu became friends. You both liked cats and had a similar taste in music. You both had similar interests in things. You realized how much of a good person he is.  Some people thought you both made a cute couple but you both would immediately say 

"EEEWWW NOOOOO!! NO WAY!" 

Deep down though, you developed a crush on him. You knew he didn't feel the same way though. He said he liked this other girl. He said her name is Totoko. You wondered if you could ever meet her. He said his other brothers had a crush on the same girl. Damn that's tuff.

Your feelings eventually went away in senior year.  In Junior year, you both started being distant. He was being more focused on his studies more than anything. You were bummed out by this and at one point cried because you cared about him a lot and didn't want to lose him.  But you didn't know what to do. He was just always busy.

However, in senior year, you caught him being beat up outside near the alley that had cats in. You rushed over there and threatened to call the police if they don't stop. The 2 boys smirked at you and walked towards you, leaving Ichimatsu on the ground. Your knees were shaking.

The brown haired guy stood on front of you. His dark brown eyes looking at yours. He put his fingers under your chin and made you look up to him with your face near his. 

"What? Are you his girlfriend or even a friend? This guy is a loner and a loser! He's nothing but pathetic and trash! He's also a thief! You know how much money he owes me! $30!"                           "That doesn't mean you should beat him up for 30 fucking dollars you fucking twat!! Look at him! He's bleeding!! For thirt-" Before you could finish, he pushed you to the ground. 

"Shut the fuck up dumbass. Watch your mouth unless you wanna end up like him too-"

"DONT!" Ichimatsu yelled out. "D-don't lay a finger on her..please," he said. His voice sounded so weak. You reached into your pocket and luckily you had $50 on you. Good thing you had a part-time job.

You took out $30 and shoved it to the boy's hand.                                                                                                  "Here, Ichimatsu gave me this earlier. Have it, since he owes you and this money is his," you lied. The boy smirked and looked at Ichimatsu. The boi winked and put 2 fingers up.

"Okay, we'll stop bothering you now. See? So you did have money! Well tootles lil' bitch," he said as he walked away. Ichimatsu tiredly put up the middle finger to him. You rushed over to him and helped him stand up. 

"I'm sorry..." he muttered. " You really didn't have to do that.." You smiled and look at him.               "It's okay, just don't do that again. Anyways, um.."                                                                                                 "Y/N...I'm..I'm sorry for being so distant. It's ju-"                                                                                                      "Ichi, you have your reasons. don't sweat it. Just.. talk to me when you have the time, okay?"

He looked at you with red on his cheeks. He smiled and nodded. 

"I have to go.. thank you y/n, I owe you~" and walked away. You said goodbye and walked away. You wondered why he blushed and started remembering the times you two were really good friends.  You smiled and happy that you met him. Too bad that in a few days, you both were going to graduate...

Then the day came. Before you left with you family to celebrate after telling all your friends goodbye, Ichimatsu called out to you and hugged you. He hugged you so tight you had to slap his back repeatedly because you were going to pass out. 

"Ahhh sorry!! I'm just..going to m-miss you.." You both blushed.                                                                    "I'm going to miss you too..." You replied. You both looked at each other, in silence.  He put his hand on your head and give you a light ruffle. "Gotta go, my family is shouting to come. Bye Y/N.I hope we meet again," With that, he smiled and walked away. You had tears in your eyes.  

"goodbye..." you muttered.
