Chapter 14 - Who Needs Fourth Walls When You Have BeccaWise4's Imagination?
Before you read any further, I want to apologize to anyone who's voted for my story. You'll see why later in the chapter.
Reader's POV
"Wait. How am I supposed to do this alone? A whole army of really good fighters got destroyed!"
Rebekitah just chuckled. "Who said anything about you doing this alone? Let me ask you this. Are you the only one who's ever read this book? Judging from the number of reads, there's just no way you're the only one."
Rebekitah snapped her fingers. A shadowy figure appeared next to you. You looked at him and jumped back. "This is another reader. Doing the math from reads and chapters in both books, I'd say that at least 45 people have read and are reading this book. You guys are our only hope."
Several more shadowy figures appeared around you. Rebekitah grunted and fell to her knees, her hot pink eyes flickering into ocean blue. "Prepare yourselves. I've used all my power to summon you all. I will fall unconscious when this shield falls."
She fell forward. The shield began flickering. "Don't...worry about me! Remember, this...is Becca's mind. Anything can...happen!"
The shield dropped as Rebekitah fell unconscious.
The figures around you began materializing (Again with the non words!) their weapons.
You smirked and materialized a/an (f/w) in your hands.
You saw Becca's eyes and smiled happily. The defeat and hopelessness had disappeared, being replaced with joy and determination.
You raise your (w) in the air. "For the sequel!" You shout.
"FOR THE SEQUEL!!" The readers echoed.
Becca's POV
"FOR THE SEQUEL!!" The readers shouted.
I laughed. Despite the situation I was in, I laughed. "Oh, Rebecca. You think you'll win this one? When the readers want a sequel, there's no stopping them."
She snarled and walked over to me. She gripped my hair and yanked back, causing me to yelp and forcing me to look in her eyes.
"YOU THINK JUST BECAUSE REBEKITAH HAD A BACKUP PLAN THAT YOU'LL WIN?"
I smirked but said nothing. She sighed and backed up. "I SUPPOSE WE'LL HAVE TO EXECUTE THE FINAL STEP OF THE PLAN A BIT EARLY. SLENDERMAN, YOU KNOW WHAT TO DO."
Slenderman nodded and released me. I was still weak, so I just fell to my knees. Before I could get back up, a tentacle wrapped around my midsection, trapping my arms. One also wrapped around my legs, trapping them as well. I was lifted back into the air and was hanging a bit behind Slenderman.
Slenderman began running away from the battle, Rebecca following close behind. My eyes went wide when I recognized the general direction they were heading. I figured out what she was going to do. She had the exact same plan as me!
"HELP!!" I yelled. "SOMEB-----" A tentacle wrapped around my mouth, shutting me up.
Nick's POV
I blinked back tears as we ran towards the Washington Monument, Becca bouncing slightly in my arms. I glanced once at our base. Our destroyed base.
Jin got out safely, but he had been unable to disable the bomb.
Becca's eyes were still black. She wasn't dead, so I didn't know if Ross was lying or had just been wrong.
I ran into the monument and saw that AK had laid some sheets down. I placed Becca on them and sat back against the wall next to her.
Sky.... Sky had sacrificed himself, pushing himself and Ross over the edge of the roof.
I put my head in my hands and let the tears flow. Becca...you can defeat whatever is holding you back. If you can survive a zombie transformation, you can do anything!
Reader's POV
"HELP!! SOMEB-----" The voice got cut off. Your eyes widened as you realized who's voice that was. You glanced in the general direction of the voice to see Rebecca and Slenderman running. You called over a few readers and pointed at the retreating figures. "Slenderman and Rebecca have Becca. We need to stop them before they...do anything terrible to her."
They nodded and began running towards Rebecca and Slenderman. You took one glance at the battle behind you and cheered. The remaining creations of Rebecca's had been destroyed and the cage containing Becky broke. You yelled at the remaining readers and Becky and ran towards the other ones who were running. You heard the swift patter of footsteps behind you.
Were coming, Becca. Just hang tight.
Becca's POV
"MMMMM!!" I yelled. It was muffled by the stupid tentacle thing.
I struggled as hard as I possibly could, but it just wasn't enough. Rebecca just laughed at my futile attempts.
Then, I noticed many, MANY figures far behind Rebecca. I looked at Rebecca, trying to not draw attention to the army of readers and Becky coming.
I kept struggling. Suddenly, a faint but painful static sound filled my head. I yelped and stopped struggling. It felt like a roach was crawling on my brain or something. It stopped after a few seconds. I just limply hung there, not wanting the pain to be worse.
I clenched my fists as I felt Slenderman slow down. Rebecca kept running forwards to something. Oh no...please don't be....
I heard her laugh. "ENJOY YOUR LAST FEW MINUTES OF FREEDOM, BECCA. IT'LL BE THE LAST THING YOU'LL EVER ENJOY."
Slenderman moved me around so I could see what she was talking about. My eyes went wide and I shook my head rapidly, struggling to get out.
It was the Sub-conscious cage. As long as the body stays alive, anything locked in there will stay there...permanently. There was no key. All you'd have to do is throw the person in, shut the door, and chant some weird words. And when the body did die, you'd die anyways because the sub-conscious would die with the body.
Slenderman walked towards the cage. He released my legs and mouth, but I was still trapped. "NO! YOU CAN'T PUT ME IN THERE! THIS IS MY BODY!" I yelled.
Rebecca walked over to the cage and patted a bar. "NOT FOR LONG. SOON, IT WILL BE MY BODY."
Suddenly, a rock hit Slenderman in the back of the head. His grip on me tightened, causing me to gasp.
I winced. "See...what I mean...Rebecca? I-If readers...want a sequel...they're g-gonna get it!" I rasped. It was getting really hard to breath.
The army and Becky stopped about 15 feet away. Why'd they stop?
That's when I felt the metal against my neck. Shakily, I glanced down and saw a knife pressed to my throat.
Suddenly, a lightning bolt struck the ground between us and the army.
STOP!
Rebecca's knife disappeared as a female stepped forward. She looked EXACTLY like Rebecca...except the eyes. Her eyes were hazel.
It was not supposed to go like this! She yelled.
"Who...are you?" I whisper.
She sighed. I'm BeccaWise4. AKA the author of this book.
She placed her head in her hands. It wasn't supposed to go like this....
I gasped. "You're the...person who was...talking to me and...Red that one...time." *COUGH* "Slenderman, could...you loosen up a...bit? C-Can't...breath." I winced.
I felt the grip around my midsection loosen, but nowhere near enough for me to get free.
"BeccaWise4, why can't you just make it so I can be free and stuff?"
She looked at me and ran her hand through her hair. I have ADHD. I was on a sugar high last chapter. I had already published it before I could evaluate the consequences. Now...I just have to go with the flow of the story. I am unable to do much to alter the course of this book.
She walked towards the readers, examining them. I can't do much...but I can do this!
She snapped her fingers and disappeared.
Umm...nothing happened....
The readers looked confused. I groaned. "DON'T JUST STAND THERE!!! YOU NEED TO STOP REB-----"
Slenderman slapped a tentacle across the back of my head, knocking me out.
Reader's POV
"DON'T JUST STAND THERE!!! YOU NEED TO STOP REB-----" Slenderman knocked Becca out.
You turned back to the army and Becky. "Becky, what do we do?"
"What? I'm not...ugh, never mind. Stop Slenderman from putting Becca in that cage. All 4 of us know the words to lock anyone away in there forever."
You nodded and turned around, pointing your (w) at Slenderman. "CHARGE!" You yelled.
Rebecca's POV
"CHARGE!" He/She yelled.
I rolled my eyes. "SLENDERMAN, STOP THEM PLEASE."
He nodded and activated his static noise.
A painful static noise rang in my ears. I fell to the ground, gritting my teeth and clutching my head. "NOT ME! THEM!!!"
I...am doing it towards them! I think that weird girl might've made my static noise direct only to you! His voice filled my head as the ringing stopped.
"JUST STOP THEM SOMEHOW! GIVE ME BECCA."
He handed Becca to me before engaging the army. Most had swords or bows, but...
S**T!
One of them had a/an (w)! That's Slenderman's weakness!
I drug Becca into the cage and walked out, shutting the door.
CLOI FY GELYN I FFWRDD AM BYTH... CLOI FY GELYN I FFWRDD AM BYTH... I repeated these words in my head. It was Welsh for 'Lock my enemy away forever.'
I sighed, the sound of battle fading. It was just me, Becca, and the cage.
I lifted my hands, palms up, to shoulder height. I closed me eyes and said the phrase. "CLOI FY GELYN I FFWRD-----"
I was cut off by a body tackling me. I yelped at the distraction. I had been too focused on the words. Breaking the concentration caused me to be disoriented.
I was shoved to the ground as glowing ropes wrapped my arms and midsection. I was forcefully picked up. I struggled against the ropes, but not as much as I'd hoped. My disorientation caused my mental power to fail. I was defenseless.
Two separate pairs of arms replaced the one before. The figure walked in front of me and smirked. I glared at her and snarled. She just laughed. "Awww...is Rebecca the defenseless one now?" Becky sneered.
I tugged against the people holding me. It was no use. My mind was muddled.
I glared at the cage as they opened the door, pulling the semi-awake Becca out. She was rubbing the back of her head.
She walked over and smiled smugly. "I think y'all...know what to do."
My eyes went wide as they pushed me towards the cage. I struggled as hard as possible, but I only received a slap to the back of my head.
They shoved me inside, shutting the door and leaning on it. I saw Becca's eyes flash purple as she raised her hands the same way I did. "YOU CAN'T DO THIS, BECCA! YOU CAN'T LOCK AWAY YOUR OTHER HALF!" I yelled, desperately trying to get out.
Her eyes closed as the cage began to shudder. I lost my balance and fell against the bars.
"Cloi fy...gelyn i ffwrdd...am byth!" She yelled.
"NOOOOOO!!!!" The cage bars began closing up the spaces between them.
"YOU WON'T GET AWAY WITH THIS, BECCA!!!! I'LL BE BACK!!!!!!" I yelled as the bars closed themselves.
The glowing ropes gave me a little light in the darkness. I sat back against the wall and cried.
"I SWEAR...I'LL BE BACK...."
Becca's POV
OK. Here's where I say sorry to all the people who voted on my story. >.<
"YOU WON'T GET AWAY WITH THIS, BECCA!!!! I'LL BE BACK!!!!!!" Rebecca yelled as the cage closed.
I shivered a bit. I was still feeling a bit weak, but I could at least hold myself up.
A reader (You, from the Reader's POV) came up to me.
"Becca...you might want to see this...." He/She sighed. I could see tears welling up in his/her eyes.
I nodded and followed him/her. The sight I came upon was...heart-breaking.
There must've been 40 or so readers here in all. 10 that I could see were injured, and...4...dead....
I wiped away my tears. In the distance, a figure approached rather slowly. It was Rebekitah!
I ran to her and hugged her tight. "You guys are OK...you guys are OK...." I whispered.
Rebekitah pulled me off and nodded. "I need to send your readers back home."
I nodded and ran over to the readers. "Thank you all...SO MUCH. Without you, I'd be in there...." I pointed to the closed up cage. "...instead of out here. Rebekitah will send you all home. But...first...the fallen...." My voice cracked slightly.
Slenderman was gone, but he didn't die alone. 4 bodies lay broken on the ground, their throats crushed.
Rebekitah knelt before 1 and opened her book. A glass panel appeared a few feet away.
A name popped on the panel, signifying whose device this was.
I wiped my tears away as Rebekitah moved Vixen back to the real world.
The next one.
I shuddered as yet another one of my readers was returned home. God rest their souls...please....
Next.
I looked away as she moved Moon out.
Finally....
I just collapsed to the ground, the tears flowing freely. They died...for the progression of a story.... I'm so sorry Vixen, Moon, Jay, and Wolf. Please forgive me....
Rebekitah then popped up several at once, each with their username. The injured needed a bit of help getting through, but otherwise, the readers waved bye before going home.
Soon, it was just me, Becky, and Rebekitah. And the cage.
Becky sat down next to me and hugged me. "I'm sorry, Becca. I wish I could've done more...."
Rebekitah had a few tears coming down her face. "I just wish I'd been there to help."
I chuckled a bit before standing up. "You did more than enough, both of you. Rebekitah, if you hadn't summoned the readers, I'd be in that cage, not Rebecca. Becky, oh my God. You fought Smile Dog like a pro. You didn't give up. I'm so proud of both of you."
Suddenly, my vision flickered. I fell to the ground, but I wasn't worried. Becky and Rebekitah weren't, either. "Finally. It seems like forever since I've seen the gang." I whispered.
I closed my eyes, a smile on my face.
We won....
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I'll admit, I was a little sad writing this, lol.
Yep. Those 4 Wattpadians died. Sorry Vixen, Jay, Moon, and Wolf. I needed names of people who've read my book. I couldn't ask for names cuz that could've given away too much info. :(
Smash that vote button at hyper speeds, Hyperfans!
I'LL BE BACK....
