Hair for Christmas at the burrow.

One of Elena's favorite holidays was Christmas. She loved spending time with her guardians and the traditions that they shared. Elena had spent the first few days leading up to the holiday getting gifts for all of her friends and family members. (see below)

Cedric, got him a new book on transfiguration spells. He had plans on becoming a professor one day, and loved transfigurations as a subject.

Mr. and Mrs. Diggory, she bought them a blank photo album so they can capture every moment and hold it in a special place.

Lyall got him some new quills and ink and a new kettle for his tea.

Remus got a dozen chocolate bars, and a new sweater she had been working on with Mrs. Weasley when she went over for visits.

Mr. and Mrs. Weasley got a used record player with some records to go along with it. Lessons were included free of charge.

Bill got two books about ancient civilizations around the world. Something she hoped would be beneficial if he became a curse breaker.

Charlie got a medium sized stuffed dragon that was charmed to get warm when you said the words "Flame".

Percy got some Quills and new journals to write in

Fred and George got some Hiccough Sweets and chinese finger traps, along with some chocolate frogs.

Ron got a few chocolate frogs and some toy cars that muggles liked to play with in town.

Ginny was given a new doll that looked like her, and some chocolate bars and a sugar quill.

When the night before Christmas came the Lupin family would gather together in their new Christmas Pjs, cups of hot cocoa, and read a Christmas story by their fireplace. Elena loved the simple tradition and was always the first one down with the book of the night picked out. Sadly this Christmas Lyall and Elena had spent it alone, Remus was not feeling well that week and looked like death itself had come to visit.

Christmas morning Lyall and Elena spent the morning opening gifts and making chocolate chip pancakes with bacon for breakfast. Then they cleaned up and got ready to go over to the Diggory's for their Christmas gathering. Elena and Lyall liked the closeness of their family and the Diggory's. Cedric was beyond excited to see his friend. She would tell him about her adventures with Fred and George while Cedric told her about the times he went to work with his dad.

Lyall gave Elena a new pair of shoes called Converse, which were pink and she loved them.

Remus gave her some chocolates and a book about safe potions for teens (knowing that he had to be very careful about the book choice, she was a wiz with that bloody cauldron)

Cedric gave her a book filled with fun facts about magical items

Mr. and Mrs. Diggory gave her a camera to take pictures with. Something she was quick to use every chance she could.

After the gathering was over Elena and Lyall went back home to spend some time with Remus who had come over after resting all day. While he still looked run down, Elena was just happy that she was able to spend some time with him on her favorite day.

The next morning Elena woke up after everyone else to be greeted with waffles, eggs, toast, and ham. Lyall and Remus were just placing the juice on the table when she came down, still dressed her in Pjs and hair a tangled mess. All three enjoyed the meal and the company before Lyall made the comment that after they ate breakfast and cleaned up they were invited to the Weasley's home for the afternoon. Elena quickly scarfed down her meal, much like Ron would when eating, and brought her plate to the sink. She made quick work to clean the dishes already there, along with her own, before cleaning the counters, and running off to her room to get dressed. Lyall and Remus merely chuckled at the young witch and waved their wands to finish cleaning up the mess left over. When Elena came back down her hair was down in curls the top was green and as the hair went down it turned red in the spirit for Christmas. She was dressed in jeans and a nice enough blue shirt knowing that she was going to be playing with the boys outside after gifts. She rounded the tree to grab the presents for everyone and placed them in the bag that Lyall had charmed with an extension charm.

When Elena was all done and ready to go Lyall walked down and the two floo'ed to 'The Burrow'. Lyall went first knowing that if Elena went first she would be holding up the chimney. When Elena got there she was quickly pulled out of the fireplace by the twins bringing her into a big hug with a mumbling of 'Happy Christmas'. Then slowly everyone started hugging on to the young girl and saying 'Happy Christmas'. Elena of course returned the hugs and smiled with each of them. When she was done hugging everyone she returned back to the bag she dropped and brought it over to the middle of the room. She opened the bag and started pulling them out one by one. When she was getting to the last of the gifts the girl nearly fell into the bag herself before Bill and Charlie grabbed onto her legs to keep from falling in. They pulled her out and she handed them their gifts with the biggest smile on her face. Everyone loved her gifts, Mr Wealsey was excited for his new muggle item and was already making plans to bring it into his shop to work on it. Not that he wanted Molly to know about it.

Gifts from the family:

Mr and Mrs Weasley gave her a scarf, beanie, and pair of gloves.

Bill gave her a book on counter curses, and book about potions which he had placed some notes in there for her that he had learned in school

Charlie gave her a book about magical creatures only found in america

Percy gave her a journal and chocolates

Fred and George gave her some acid pops, chocolate frogs, and a coupon for 1 free prank to whomever she chooses

Ron and Ginny gave her some candy as well, and helped to make the items with Mrs. Weasley.

Elena loved all of her gifts and planned to put that coupon someplace safe. After the gifts were opened and the room was cleared the kids all went outside to play some rounds of quidditch. Elena was teamed with Charlie and Percy while Bill played with the twins. Charlie wanted to see how well she worked with him, and wanted to even the game out. Only Chasers and Keepers. Percy and Bill were keepers while the rest were chasers. The game ended after an hour when the twins kept getting distracted and began showing off their tricks to Ginny and Ron who were keeping the score below. When dinner came around Elena and Lyall had left to go home, but the girl promised to come back again to spend more time with them before the end of break. She kept her promise and was found hiding away with the twins getting into some kind of trouble or another more often than not.
