Chapter 7: Garroth's "Girl"friend

*Garroth's POV*

"Garroth! Are you alright?! My Irene, you look petrified! Did something happen?!" Aphmau freaked out, as she checked me over rapidly. I swear, she acts like a mother way too much.

"I'm fine, Aph. Just...a little shaken up."

I gave a small, nervous laugh, biting my lip. All of the events that happened with Gene today, honestly did scare me. How could they not?! I've dated Gene before. I know the things he can be capable of...it's terrifying. I honestly just want to go home, lock myself in my room, and never come out of it again.

"Okay, honey. Let me know, when you're ready. I've been worried about you," Aphmau pulled me into a hug, rubbing my back. She was honestly the sweetest friend ever. I wouldn't trade her for the world.

"Wow~. That your girlfriend, Garroth?"

Is that supposed to be offensive towards me or Aphmau? Because if that's towards me, it's not really working. And if that's towards Aphmau, then someone's going to be left with a mark.

Aphmau let go of me, and we both turned around. We were then faced, by...you might've guessed it.

Laurance.

"G-Girlfriend?!" I jumped a little, feeling my face heat up. Why was he accusing me of having a girlfriend?! "She isn't my-"

"Relax, bro. She's cute. You got a keeper," Laurance chuckled, running a hand through his hair.

You poor, dumb child.

Aphmau laughed, snorting a little. I shot her a glance, but she just continued to laugh. "Girlfriend! That's so funny! Garroth's-"

"My girlfriend isn't here. So, I don't appreciate you claiming one of my best friend's, as my proclaimed...girlfriend," I interrupted Aphmau, crossing my arms. Aph gave me a confused glance, and Laurance did the same.

Did we just accidentally say that we had a girlfriend?

I think we did...

Too late to go back, now.

"You seriously have a girlfriend?!" Laurance glanced me over.

What was so shocking about me having a girlfriend. Yes...I'm hella gay... But it's not like he knows that...

"Uh...y-yes..?" I said in a questioning tone. I have no idea where I was going with this.

"Garroth?" Aphmau looked me up and down, chuckling slightly. "You have a girlfriend."

"Y-yes, I do! A-and she's really pretty, and sweet...a-and real..," I laughed nervously, knowing Aphmau had already seen through my lie.

Laurance stood there, still giving me a confusing look. Hopefully, there was no way he could tell I was lying. Maybe, if he figured I had a girlfriend, he wouldn't question my sexuality! And then, if Gene were to say anything... He wouldn't believe him! I am so freaking smart. I deserve a cupcake, after this.

"Well...uh...I gotta head over to Homeroom. See ya later," Aphmau waved goodbye, as she skipped off somewhere.

I looked at Laurance, who was dazed, watching Aphmau leave. Like I said before, pig. It's honestly disgusting. And, it adds on to the list of reasons, why I hate him.

"Hello~" I snapped my fingers in front of his face, snapping Laurance out of his trance. "You kinda...spaced out there."

"Dude! Isn't she like... really hot?" Laurance dreamily smiled, and I rolled my eyes.

"She is a beautiful young lady," I glared at Stupid Laurance, I crossed my arms again. "I don't really appreciate you talking about one of my best friend's like that."

"Aww. What's the matter, Garroth? You upset you can't have her?" Laurance joked, laughing to himself.

I rolled my eyes again. "I don't need her. When I am already dating a nice girl."

"Aww, that's cute. Who's your girlfriend, then? I'd love to meet her," Laurance smiled, looking around.

Think of something!

"Uh...she's...got long hair..? And uh...blue eyes..? And she's like..," I stared off into the distance, trying to think of stuff guys liked in girls. "... She's like, a cheerleader, and stuff! And super pretty. Yeah, totally..."

Totally fooled him. No way he can see through that.

That was sarcasm, wasn't it?

Of course it was sarcasm.

"Really?" Laurance's grin grew, as he leaned against a locker. "Have you-"

He was cut off by the bell ringing. Laurance sighed a small bit, but I wasn't sure why. He stood up straight, fixing his hair.

"Wanna walk to Homeroom?" He asked me.

"Obviously, that's where I'm going..."

Have I mentioned how much I hate him?

~~~
*Laurance's POV*
Lunch.
And where am I?
In the courtyard, with Gene and his friends. He invited me out here, for lunch. Unfortunately, I'm pretty sure it's against the rules.
I was right.
Know where I am, now? In the Principal's office. Guess who else is also here... Garroth! Maybe, I should explain what happened...
~~~

~Earlier That Day~

"Laurance, come out with us to the Courtyard, for lunch," Gene beckoned, his friends- Sasha and Zenix- lingering behind him.

"Why?" I questioned, gathering my belongings and lunch.

"Just because," Sasha shrugged, playing with her silver hair.

I picked up my lunch, throwing my bookbag over my shoulder. "Isn't that against the rules, though?"

"If it were against the rules, would we be asking you to do it?" Gene had a sly grin on his face. It sent shivers up my spine, but I'm not sure why.

"I guess not..."

I gave in, following them out to the Courtyard. They lead me out to the tree in the center, all of us sitting underneath it. They had some small talk, and I continued to eat my lunch.

"Hey, Laurance," Gene grinned, looking around. He came over to me, looking around once again. "Hold onto this for me, will ya?"

I nodded, not questioning him. I trusted Gene. He was a cool guy. Gene handed me a small box, gesturing me to put it in my bookbag, which I obliged.

"What is in it?" I curiously asked.

"Nothing much. Just-"

"Laurance! You aren't supposed to be out here!" I heard a voice call from beside us.

Turning around, I was faced with Garroth. His fists were balled, and he stormed over to us. Looking the group over, his face drained of colour.

"Hey, Garroth!" I smiled at him, standing up.

"L-Laurance...c-come with me. N-Now!" Garroth snapped at me, grabbing a hold of my wrist.

I was confused by his actions, as he began to pull me over to the school building. He was surprisingly pretty strong, despite being so small.

"Garroth? What's the big deal?"

"Y-You shouldn't be hanging out here. E-Especially with-"

"Garroth Ro'Meave. Laurance Zvahl. Care to explain, why you two are out here? Where is your passes?" A strong, feminine voice asked.

Looking up, we were faced with a tall woman. She glared down at us, her hands placed on her hips. The principal.

"M-Miss! I-I can explain-!" Garroth started, dropping my hand.

"To my office, now."

~~~
So, here we are, now. Sitting across from the principal's desk, watching her fiery gaze.
"So, that's the story, huh?" She leaned her elbows on the desktop, glancing in between us.
"Y-Yes, Miss!" Garroth hastily nodded, looking like he wanted to start crying. I feel terrible...
"Alright, Garroth. You can head back to class," the principal nodded at him, and Garroth nodded back.
"T-Thank you, Miss," Garroth grabbed his bookbag off the ground, walking over to the entrance.
I started to stand up as well, but the principal stopped me. "Not so fast, Zvahl. I need to speak a few words with you..."
Oh no...
