Chapter 22: Curiosity
*Laurance's POV*
"When are the other two coming over?" I asked Garroth, looking around his beautiful home.
"Dante just sent me a text, saying he's taking care of a few thing, then he'll be right over. He's with Travis," Garroth sighed, setting down his cell phone. "Well, w-what would you like to do, while we're waiting?"
I chuckled, trying to think of what we could do. I've never actually been to a sleepover, before. Heck, I rarely go over to friends' houses... Probably because, before last year, I didn't really have a friend group... My only real friend; before Garroth, and Dante, and all them; was Cadenza. And now, she's my sister...
"Hm...I dunno..," I looked around his living room, tapping a finger against my leg. "How about we go up to your room?"
Garroth bit his lip, his face colour darkening to red. "W-What is your obsession with going i-into my r-room?"
"Geez, Garroth...I didn't mean it like that," I teased him, as his face went darker from the embarrassment. "I dunno, what we could do. I thought...we could have fun in your room our something."
Garroth sighed, grabbing a throw pillow off the couch. Repeatedly, he kept hitting himself in the head with it, mumbling curses. What? Did I say something wrong? I don't think I-... Am I the only one here, that's confused?
"Laurance, you hurt me inside. You know that, right?" Garroth dropped the pillow he was previously bashing his face into, to look over at me.
"What did I do?"
Garroth sighed once again, as he walked off. I hopped up, following after him. He stopped at the base of his staircase, glancing back at me. We stood there, staring at each other for a moment.
"Well?" Garroth crossed his arms, his original colour returning back to his previously beet red face. "Are you coming?"
"Oh, alright," I lightly chuckled, following him up the stairs.
I cannot stress enough, how beautiful his home is. The Ro'Meaves are truly living the dream... Speaking of Ro'Meaves, I know that Garroth has brothers... Are they here? Did they leave with his parents? I wish I would be told things, instead of being left in the dark.
We walked down a hallway, decorated with pictures of Garroth's family. They were all so nice, and heartwarming. It made me smile a little. On our walk, we passed a room, decorated in pink butterfly, and little crown stickers. Odd...I don't remember Garroth having a sister... I'm pretty sure he even mentioned, not having one...
"Whose room is that?" I asked, pointing at the white door, bearing many, many stickers.
"Oh? That's my brother's room. You remember Vylad, right?" Garroth smiled, rubbing his arm.
"Wow...kinda feminine, dont'cha think?" I studied the door once again, a bit curious of what the inside looked like.
"Vylad has his interests. Where am I to judge him?" Garroth's cheeks were a light pink, as he shrugged.
He started walking again, and I stopped to glance over at another door. This one was also coated in stickers, but nothing like the one on Vylad's door. They mostly consisted of skulls and crossbones, pentagrams, names of bands that I partially recognized, and other strange things. All the while, I sign that said, 'Keep Out!' Hung on the center of it all.
"Before you ask, Alice," Garroth chuckled, walking back over to my side. "That's my other brother's room. Zane."
"Zane has some kind of taste," I nervously chuckled, scratching the back of my head. How were these three related, again? "And, did you call me 'Alice'?"
"Curiouser and curiouser. How curious you are very, very lately Alice," Garroth laughed, starting his walk again. Okay, now he's officially creeped me out. "Tell me, have you read a lot of books?"
"I guess you could say that." I swear, this boy is the strangest person I have ever met.
"Then you should know, that curiosity often leads to trouble," Garroth looked back at me, smirking. "Stop with all the questions, Alice. It's getting obnoxious."
Oh, wait a minute...
"Have I gone mad?" I caught up to Garroth, as he stopped in front of a door. This one was much more...bland, compared to the other two.
"I'm afraid so... You're entirely bonkers," Garroth giggled, opening up his room door. "But I'll tell you a secret. All of the best people are."
Garroth's room, was at the same time, what you'd expect from a teenage boy...yet at the same time, not entirely. His walls were painted blue, covered in posters. Mostly of anime, or pop bands. He his bed was neatly made, with a few stuffed animals littering it. He had a desk, with a computer, and a desk chair, that had his bookbag sitting on top of it. One thing that was kind of off about it to me, actually had to deal with his posters...
Now, don't get me wrong, everyone's interests vary... But, it's a bit odd to me, to see a lot of posters of...guys, in a teenage boy's room. Like...beefy, or, admittedly, attractive guys. I mean...my room may consist of a few posters...of...attractive girls, or something...like that... You know what? I'm going to just stop judging my friend in my head, now.
"Wow, your room is something, alright," I smiled at him, stepping into his bedroom.
"I don't know what you were expecting, Laurance," Garroth laughed, sitting on his bed. He patted the area beside him, and I took a seat next to him. "I'm sorry I'm more boring than my brothers."
"Yeah, you're so super boring," I rolled my eyes, glancing over at his nightstand.
There was quite the assortment of little nick-knacks atop it. There was an alarm clock, a few books, some pencils, and a little box... Garroth was right...curiosity is seriously going to get me into trouble, some day.
"Thanks, I know of my boring-ness," Garroth giggled, again. I rarely hear him giggle... To be honest, it's kind of adorable... And I mean that, in a bro-to-bro sort of way. Obviously. "Are you satisfied, Alice? Now that you've witnessed all of the glory of my average bedroom?"
"How long are you going to call me 'Alice' for?" I questioned, leaning back a little.
"Up until you stop questioning everything, Alice. But, seeing as you can't stop with all of the questions...I guess it's going to be quite a while."

*Garroth's POV*
The sound of our loud doorbell rang throughout the house. I jumped off of my bed, heading downstairs, and I could hear Laurance after me. As we passed it, I noticed that Vylad's door was wide open- signifying that he had probably darted down the stairs. Figures.
I made it to the base of the stairs, making a sharp turn. Sure enough, Vylad had answered the door before me. And wouldn't you know it, he was hugging Dante.
Now, don't get me wrong...I think they would be cute together in the end. However, right now... No. Dante needs to stay far away from my baby brother, currently. Maybe when they're both older, but not now! Ever since the whole Gene fiasco, I've been worried about my brothers and their relationships... Especially concerning Vylad and Dante, because of Dante's relations to Gene... I don't want Vylad to get hurt in the end...especially not in High School, like I did. Adulthood, is a different story.
"So, Dante," I broke apart the two, glaring a little at Dante. "Where's Travis?"
"Here I am!" I soft voice chimed, from behind Dante. Travis appeared, smiling lightly at me.
"Great! So, everyone's here, right?"
"Who'd you invite, overall?" Vylad asked, leaning against the nearest wall.
"Dante, Travis, Laurance, you and Zane," I said, running a hand through my hair. "But, Zane said he wasn't coming."
I heard a small 'awh', but decided that it was best to let it slide. What is with my friends, and having to date my brothers? Why is that a thing, that happens? I don't understand.
"Well, anyway," Dante smirked, pushing past me a little. "Who's up for some games?"
