*Garroth's POV*

"As of Monday, I now have a girlfriend! Now, we both have one! Great, right?!" Laurance grinned to himself, leaning against a surface.

I completely forgot I made up that lie of having a girlfriend! Damn it! Why did I think that was a good idea?! I am such a bloody idiot!

"Y-yeah, wonderful..," I rubbed my arm, glancing down at the ground.

My heart was hurting, really bad. I thought I had gotten over heartbreak... I suppose, I was wrong. I guess my heart was just in too much of a fragile state, to even be tampered with.

First, it was Gene's break up with me... Then, it was his constant repetition of bullying... Now, it was Laurance having to get a stupid girlfriend. Who is it, anyways?

"We should totally go out on a double date, this weekend! That'd be awesome, right?!" Laurance stood up straight, his grin growing.

I've never seen him this ecstatic... Must be nice...

"A-A double d-date..?" I bit down hard on my lip. "Y-Yeah...I would l-love t-to..."

If I were with you...

"Great! I'll talk to Lucinda about it! I'll text you the details. You got my number, right?" Laurance's eyes lit up, with excitement.

He's dating...Lucinda. Why am I not even surprised? She's so pretty, and charismatic, and a girl... Everything I'm not... I'm sure they'd be...great...together. Honestly, I hope they have a better relationship, then I did with Gene...and neither of them get hurt in the end.

"Y-yeah...you do..," I sighed, glancing into Laurance's beautiful, baby blue eyes.

"Oh! You wanted to talk to me about something, right? What was it?" Laurance bent down a bit, so we were eye level.

"Oh, r-right... I-I...just wanted t-to ask...if y-you wanted t-to hang out this weekend... B-But, you are p-planning that d-date, so..," I nervously chuckled.

"Well, funny how that worked out, eh?" Laurance laughed a bit, hitting my shoulder. I was probably blushing from the touch. My Irene...why does he do this to me? "So, I'll text you later, alright? Ima go find, Lucinda. Seeya, Garroth!"

Laurance waved goodbye to me, as he strolled off. I gave him a small wave, even though his back was turned. I let out one last sigh, turning around. I noticed a figure, lurking in the distance. I didn't even need to see them fully, to know who they were.

"Aphmau...you can stop being a stalker, now..."

*Aphmau's POV*

Garroth stared straight at me, and I didn't move. He crossed his arms, shaking his head. I nervously smiled, holding my hands behind my back. Maybe, if I'm lucky, he didn't notice me.

"Aphmau...you can stop being a stalker, now..," He called over to me.

Darn it! He found me out!

I giggled a little, going out of my dumb- I mean- absolutely amazing hiding spot. I walked over to Garroth- who was still blushing from the conversation he had with Laurance. I couldn't hear what they were talking about, but I didn't really mind. I was mostly just snapping photos on my cell phone.

"Hey, Gar. What's up, bruh?" I blew my hair out of my face, and tried to seem cool.

"Oh...um..," Garroth looked down at the floor, his blush darkening. "Did you...hear anything..?"

"Nah, I was out of earshot."

My best friend senses were tingling, and my inner protective momma overtook me. Something was wrong. Small Garroth was hurting (let's ignore the fact that's taller than me, alright? Alright.).

"Garroth, honey, you okay?" I stood up on my tip-toes, lifting his chin up with my finger. "What's the matter?"

"It's nothing, Aph..," Garroth lightly pushed my finger away, giving me a kiss on the cheek. That was his silent way of saying, something was wrong. "Hey, Aphmau...would you by any chance, be willing to join the cheerleading squad?"

Well, that came out of nowhere.

"What?! Cheerleading?! Why?"

"Because...I just think that...you would, uh...be a good cheerleader, is all..," Garroth's pitch was a little bit higher, signifying he was lying to me.

I rolled my eyes, standing on my flat feet. I crossed my arms, and shook my head at him.

"Why would you actually want me to do cheerleading, Garroth?"

"Fine...Aphmau, don't judge me, but... ImayhaveaccidentallytoldLauranceIhaveagirlfriend,butIdon't.HelpmepleaseAphmau."

I took a second, and deciphered everything he said. I've talked to him enough, through his panic states, that I know how to figure out his fast-paced speech.

"Why did you say you had a girlfriend in the first place?" I smirked, deciding to tease him. "Did you want to make him jealous~?"

"Okay, listen," Garroth huffed. "It was a spur of the moment kind of thing. I said I had a cheerleader girlfriend...with blue eyes. Damn it! You won't work!"

Garroth groaned, throwing his head backwards. I rolled my eyes, giggling. "Garroth, sweetheart, I know that I shouldn't be intervening with affairs such as this... However, I think I know just the girl, who will be perfectly suited to pretend to date you, for a while. She infatuated with you."

Garroth's smiled, chuckling to himself. "Aren't most? Girls seem to like me a lot. I know you did, too, Aph~"

"Remember, when we thought that we were married?" I asked, recalling a memory from our childhood years. "And that we were going to be happily together. What the heck was wrong with us? We were so naïve."

"Aww, I remember," Garroth's smile grew, as he dreamily sighed. "That was so long ago. Funny how much, we have changed."

"Especially you, ya big dork," I playfully punched his arm, and we both shared a laugh.

When we both settled down, Garroth sighed. He held my shoulders, slightly looking down at me. "Hey, Aph...thank you. I know, that you don't know what you did...but you helped me, a lot... You just, seem to pull through, like that... You're always there, when I need you. That's why I'm thankful for you, Dante, even Katelyn and Travis. So, thank you..."

I smiled softly, and it was my turn to give him a kiss on the cheek. Letting him know, that I'm always there for him. Even though, he already knows it...

"You forgot someone on that list of yours," I brushed my best friend's cheek.

"Who?"

"Laurance." Garroth's eyes widened, and his head dropped. "I heard about all he's done, to help you. He's a great guy...and I know that you aren't the most fond of him...but, I hope you learn to like him... Because, I may totally ship it," I muttered the last part, so he didn't hear me.

"Y-yeah...you're right... As always," Garroth looked back up, letting go of my shoulders.

"Now, you walk back home, okay? I'm gonna go to the gym, and have a talk with that girl. I'll give her your number, if she's up for it. You can explain it more to her after, okay?"

"Okay..!" Garroth chuckled, waving goodbye, as he started on his way. "Bye, Aph!"

"Bye, Gar!"

*Garroth's POV*
~Later That Day~

"Hey, GarGar! I'm home~" My mother sang, as she peaked in my room. "So, you got a boyfriend, yet~?"

I wiped my eyes quickly, not letting her see I was crying. Luckily, I was able to maintain myself in front of Aphmau and...Laurance. But, as soon as I got home...I couldn't help it any longer. I was too overcome by emotions.

"GarGar?" My mother's voice broke through the silence. "You're...crying... Oh, no... Did he-..."

"H-He has a g-girlfriend..," I managed to say, sniffling.

Mom instantly came to my side, holding me close to her. I allowed myself to cry, as she rubbed my back, and I laid my head on her shoulder. We stayed like that for a few minutes, until I eventually calmed down. She loosely let go of me, looking down at me.

"It's alright, my GarGar. These things happen. It's okay," she kissed my forehead, wiping away my tears. "Don't let this get to you. There's plenty of fish in the sea."

"T-Thanks, Mommy..."

"I'm here for you, okay? I'm going to go see your brothers... But, if you need anything, come and find me. I'll be making dinner in a few minutes, if you're up for it. If not, I can have Pea bring you up something. Alright?"

"O-Okay...b-bye..."

"Bye, GarGar. Feel better."

Mommy waved goodbye to me, as she got up. She lightly closed my door, blowing me a kiss. I sniffled a few more times, before falling backwards on my bed. After a moment, I felt a buzzing in my pocket.

Curious, I pulled out my cell phone. I had a text message, from an unknown number. I wonder if that's the girl...Aphmau wanted to "set me up" with. Probably.

Unknown: Hey, is this Garroth~? 💖

You: Yes, this is the right number... Who's this?

Unknown: Whoops, didn't mention who I was.

Unknown: My name's Ivy!
