btw peter, tony, and steve aren't superhero's in this story...they're just normal people :)

Tony was hesitant sending Peter to school to next morning. His gut feeling was telling him something would go wrong, but his husband was telling him otherwise. "Tony, I think you're overreacting. We can't keep him from going to school forever." Tony didn't want to argue, so he just let it be. "Come on, Pete, let's go!" Tony gave Steve a quick kiss goodbye and they were out the door.

Little did they know, Tony's worst fear would come true that very day.

Everything was still. Tony was sipping coffee, while Steve was reading the paper. Peter was practicing his times tables, quietly in the back of the classroom. Everything was peaceful until....

Three bombs shook the city, striking fear into the citizens. Tony looked at Steve, a single tear streaming down his face. It can't be, he thought to himself. It can't be. Suddenly Steve gasped, his eyes widening.
"Peter."

At Peter's elementary school, they went into a shelter in place. All the kids took cover under their desks, shielding their bodies. Most kids were crying, calling out for their parents. Poor little Peter just wanted his dads to come and save him.

Tony and Steve ran out to the car, pushing through all the panicking people. "Steve, come on!" They got in the car, and raced to the school. It appeared the school was one of the bomb targets, as half of it was crumbled into debris. Tony and Steve prayed their son was still alive and went into the side of the building that was still intact.

They searched through every classroom, yelling out their sons name. "PETER! PETER! PETER STARK-ROGERS!" Tony felt the pit in his stomach growing. This is it, they thought. Our son is dead.

Their luck began to turn when they heard a familiar little voice in the distance. "DAD! POPS!" It was Peter. He emerged from all the dust and debris, and ran into their arms. "Oh, Peter. Thank God you're safe. Come on let's get out of here."

Steve picked Peter up and they made their way out of the building.
