Shining Dynamite
It is raining in the city;
Water is falling on the street.
It pours across the cement,
Then from gutters into the deep.
Upon the puddle-flecked street;
Dazzling neon lights shine.
Their light spills onto the water,
Thick and full as wine.
Yellow, orange, red and blue,
A melting rainbow of liquid light,
The surface is dappled with color;
Illuminated in the dark of night.
My footsteps splash into puddles;
Droplets are lit up in the air.
It's a chaos of shining dynamite,
An explosion of life and flair.
