Chapter 49: Clash
Proofreader: SMV2454
And so, the midterm exams have passed with much fun and enjoyment. It was quite an impressive experience for us. Haha, I almost threw up. But it seems the university took pity on us poor students and decided to give us a break from academics for a while, turning to organize some revitalizing activities, namely the inter-faculty sports events.
This is the time everyone has been waiting for because not only do we get a week off from classes, but it's also a time for fun, getting to know friends from other faculties, and showing the unity and cooperation within our own faculty. Even though it's tiring, it's worth it. ^^
Today, there are several sports reaching the finals. The stands, cheerleaders, and cheer squads will compete tomorrow along with the final football match and the closing ceremony. Sports are a great remedy, haha. We've been competing for three or four days now, and it seems our faculty hasn't won any medals or awards yet. It's always the architecture, law, engineering, and business faculties fiercely competing for the top spots.
But my faculty isn't like that. We don't care about the awards. We just want to have fun. The other day, we played football against the engineering faculty. I don't know who thought of the matchups, but the engineering faculty has been the champion for eight years straight. Our fine arts team, with our long-haired guys running around causing chaos for the referees, lost 4-0. But even though we lost the match, we won the hearts of the audience. ^^ Where else can you find such a hilarious football team?
[T/n: 4-0? It's not that bad. I thought it could be worse 😂]
Most importantly, my Nong Code, Din, competes in almost everything. As a good Phi Code, I have to carry water and cold towels to cheer him on from the sidelines.
Yesterday morning, he competed in running, then played football a bit later, and in the afternoon, he played basketball. He only won the running event; he got eliminated in everything else. Haha, but it's okay. Our faculty doesn't mind. We're here for the fun.
And this afternoon, my friends and I squeezed through the crowd to sit right by the football field, waiting to watch the semifinal match between the Engineering and Law faculties. Of course, we had to come and cheer for our good friends.
Tan and Beer, today these two have to put the word friend on the sidelines to come and fight in a fierce rivalry. We didn't know which side to cheer for since both Beer and Tan are our friends, so we just watched for fun.
The atmosphere is very lively, especially in the stands of the Engineering and Law faculties, who are singing cheers to support their athletes loudly. The announcer's voice, the music from the management tent, and my friends Q, Fang, and Mick, and I are sitting in the central stands opposite the cheering stands.
The rest of our friends are busy with other tasks. Chan is helping as a judo referee, a youth gold medalist, while Phum is helping his faculty with the stage and sound setup for tomorrow. I don't know where Toey has disappeared to, but he definitely dragged Matt along. Actually, I was busy too because I had to take care of the athletes, but Fang ordered me to come. Haha, our faculty isn't even playing, Fang, but we have to support each other closely, right?
"P'Champ ka, shall we hand over the duties to our honorary commentator?" said the event's announcer, who is also a student.
"Sure, P'Woon krub. And the person who will be the commentator for today's epic football match is someone everyone knows well. I guarantee there will be screams when I announce this. Ah!"
"Of course, P'Champ. And without further ado, please welcome Phi Pan Panyapat, the vice president of the student organization!"
"What?!"
"Damn."
"Damn."
"Damn" (Like Nong Kao and Nong Peach, haha).
[*Sorry I don't know who Nong Kao and Nong Peach are.]
We exclaimed and peeked towards the management tent. Pan himself was sitting there, smiling and waving at the screaming crowd. Well, today's football match is going to be interesting.
"Oh my gosh, P'Pan! P'Pan! Who should I watch now? So many options." screamed a girl below. Is there still someone who mistakenly likes him?
"Is he using his power to push himself forward?" Mick still has a different view at this point.
"Hello everyone, hello to all the seniors, friends, and juniors. At first, I was coming by helicopter, but the field was too small, so I decided to ride my bike here, haha." There were boos and laughs from all directions. "So, let's hear it for the Engineering team! And now for the Law team! And the Political Science team, I heard you got eliminated, haha. Today, I'm not here alone..."
Then he introduced another friend who would be commentating with him. The music blared as the football players from both teams lined up on the field. That was it, the screams came from all directions. We had to cover our ears. The girls sitting above us screamed non-stop.
Q, did you bring me to the wrong place? I think the girls aren't here to watch football; they're here to see the players, haha.
Green even left the stands to point out the players, "Number 10 is Green's. Number 6 is also Green's." It's time to claim the players. "Who should I cheer for? Beer is handsome, Tan is cool. I'll take both, haha."
"Hey, what about Q?" I asked.
"That's a given. I'll keep him on the shelf for when I'm in need." Green replied, making us laugh.
"Are you going to possess me? I have a protective amulet, you know. Hey, Green, don't go near the field. The players might get scared thinking a gorilla is coming for them. Come back up." Q said, kicking Green, who retaliated with a slap.
"Hey, fresh chicken is out of stock, so you come here to bite people?" Green retorted.
[T/n: Green meaned Q is a monitor lizard - Ai Hia]
After exchanging nice words with Q to her satisfaction, Green went back to screaming above us. Now, both teams sent their captains to gamble. Oops, I mean, both teams sent their captains for a coin toss to decide who would get which side and who would kick off first. It was Beer and Tan standing handsomely in front of the referee. After tossing the coin, they patted each other's heads and hugged, saying something that made Green's group scream even more.
"Ahhh! Handsome guys hugging! I'm thrilled! The girls are starving, haha.".
"Hey, are they enchanted with consecrated rice or something? Just Tan and Beer, and you're already screaming so much that my ears hurt." Q turned to scold Green's group, who screamed even louder in response, haha.
"Ahhh! Go P'Beer! P'Beer is so cute when he plays. Stay calm and play well, P'Beer!" We turned to look at the girls sitting above Green's group.
Seeing people scream for our friends, we couldn't help but laugh. Like, what do you see? The girls only see the handsome and cool exterior, so they like them. I wish they could see their true selves. Let's see if they'd still scream, haha.
[T/n: Look who's talking! Someone fell for "the handsome and cool exterior" at first sight, then fell harder when he saw the other's interior. Hahaha.]
"P'Tan is so handsome, but it's a pity he has a faen. I heard he/she's very possessive." one girl said.
"Of course, with his looks and wealth, who wouldn't be possessive? If it were me, I'd follow him everywhere." another girl replied.
A group of girls sitting a little bit next to us was delirious. Fang glanced over and made a sound in his throat, haha. Calm down, man.
"But aren't P'Beer and P'Tan friends? All the guys in this group are so handsome, especially P'Phum." another girl said.
"Ah, yes! P'Phum is like a god. Ah, I forgot to tell you, Oh, yesterday Pin and I saw him." one girl said.
"Really? When?" Oh asked.
"In the evening at the central library. He was there reading with his friends. And when I went to get a book, he was right there. He turned and smiled at me. I almost fainted. He's like a prince, more handsome than a celebrity. His face is so clear, he's so tall and cool..." the girl gushed.
"Really? Too bad P'Phum isn't playing. If he were, I'd scream by the goal." she replied.
[T/N: Karma comes so fast.]
I glanced over too, my ears perked up at the mention of Phum. Q and Mick chuckled, haha. Even if you scream by the goal, you'd only get to scream because P'Phum is...
Mine.
[smv2454: possessive are we? 😏]
In the first ten minutes of the game, the ball stayed mostly in the middle, but Engineering seemed to have more possession. As it reached the twenty-minute mark, Engineering started to attack, with commentary from Pan making the audience both excited and amused.
"There are girls cheering for number 9 from Law. Go P'Beer!"
Beer waved with a gentlemanly smile, eliciting screams from his faculty's stands.
"Oh, come on!"
When the ball went out, Tan ran to retrieve it and saw us sitting there. He smiled at Khao Fang, and those sitting near Fang were probably delirious, thinking that Tan was smiling at them, not knowing...
"With such good support, Engineering is sure to win." Q teased.
"I agree. My faculty is clearly better than Beer's, plus we have a university team football player." Mick added.
"Yeah, I'm so jealous of Tan's boyfriend." I chimed in.
Fang remained silent, staring at the field, before smacking us all on the head. Ouch, that hurt!
"What do you get from teasing me?" Fang asked.
"Get hurt." Mick replied, still cheeky. You still dare to provoke him, Mick?
"There's only one ball, you know, and they're all fighting over it." Pan's co-commentator began.
"Yeah, twenty people chasing one ball around a field. Don't you feel sorry for me?" Pan joked, imagining himself as the ball, haha.
[T/n: Yeah, wouldn't it be easier if everyone just had their own ball?]
"They kick me, they throw me, don't they feel sorry for me? I'm both bruised and sore. Only the goalkeeper loves me, holding me in his arms. But... in the end, he kicks me farther than anyone else, haha."
"Pachara passes to Chayodom. Chayodom, oh, a long shot from eighteen yards, just missing the crossbar by about three wa (six meters) and two sok (one meter). What a pity!" Pan's commentary was hilarious.
Hahaha, how much is three wa and two sok, Pan? I feel like he doesn't really say anything about the game on the field.
[*Wa (วา) and sok (ศอก) are Thai unit of measurement]
"Team, can we see that in slow motion again?" Pan imagined the slow-motion replay, even though there wasn't one. Isn't my friend amazing?
Anyone who wants to talk or be friends with Pan needs to understand the rhythm of his life. Know when to think deeply and when not to overthink. Sometimes, you have to use a lot of imagination because he likes to live in his own thoughts, creating stories and firmly believing in them.
Once, in our first year, Pan thought he had a heart condition and became obsessed with the idea. He spent the whole day thinking he was dying of a terminal heart disease. In the evening, while we were drinking, he kept saying he was about to die from heart disease. At first, no one believed him, but he kept repeating it and even started crying. We got scared and rushed him to the hospital, only to get scolded by the doctor.
"If you have so much free time, take your friend to a mental hospital." the doctor said.
[T/n: Did you guys take the doctor's advice seriously?]
It turned out he had imagined it all. Tan and Q almost beat him up for it.
"My friend Kawinphop will take the corner kick. Just walking past the girls makes them scream." Pan said, making Tan, who was about to take the corner kick, lose his balance from laughing.
[T/n: Someone asked me Tan and Fang given names. I'm not sure if I answer them yet 😅. Tan's given name is Kawinphop and Fang's is Jinrathaphat.]
"Today's event wouldn't be possible without our kind sponsors. We'd like to thank Glico Pocky, Yamaha Fino motorcycles, and if you love water and Pan, you need Milo." So are you selling motorcycles or Milo or Sakura fish food?. "Also, thanks to Hanami crackers, Laurier sanitary pads, and 3K batteries." My friend was on a roll.
The first half ended in a 1-1 draw. In the second half, Engineering took the lead with a goal from Tan. During injury time, Tan, showcasing his skills as a university team football player, scored another goal, leading Engineering to a 3-1 victory. His friends ran to hug him as the final whistle blew.
"Oh wow! What a beautiful goal by Kawinphop, number 21 from Computer Engineering. That was an amazing goal!" Pan exclaimed.
"How amazing was it, Pan?" his co-commentator asked.
"It was so amazing that it couldn't go any further, Khun Bass, haha." Pan joked.
Tan ran away from his friends who were trying to hug him and came towards us. He took off his shirt to reveal a message on his white undershirt.
"THIS GOAL IS FOR MY WIFE."
Pan read out loud, causing the stadium to erupt in screams. It showed how confident Tan was that he would score. Well, he is a striker after all.
"Ahhh! I'm going to faint! P'Tan!!!!!!" the girls in the stands screamed and swooned.
"I'm jealous. Who is it? Who's the lucky one?" They started looking around.
Tan smiled widely and pretended to kick the ball towards Fang, who was now blushing all over.
"You idiot." Fang muttered.
...
..
.
Today, there will be a closing ceremony for the sports event, along with cheerleading competitions, cheer stands, parades, and the final football match. But nothing has garnered as much attention as the basketball final between ...
The Engineering and Architecture faculties.
As everyone knows, Engineering and Architecture have always been rivals. I don't know what tradition this is, but these two faculties have always been at odds. According to those close to me, it's all about "pride". It isn't edible, but it's cool.
It's as if the work that they do has to clash often. Architects design and engineers build, there is often repulsion because architects don't think about construction possibilities and engineers don't have design imagination. The reason is pointless but it's no surprise that the gym is packed today. Yesterday's football match had a lot of people, but today's basketball game makes it look empty in comparison. There's barely any standing room. One half comes to cheer, the other half comes to watch people hit each other, hahaha.
But I have connections, so I got a reserved spot, haha. Even so, I had to rush to the university early this morning.
Why early? Because Phum is competing. We came in separate cars this morning. Phum left earlier to help set up the sound equipment for the cheer stands. Before leaving, he reminded me repeatedly to come and cheer for him.
So, today, our whole gang is here to cheer for him. The seats Phum reserved for us are right behind the players' bench. Very exclusive, probably so he wouldn't let me out of his sight . Am I here to watch you compete or for you to watch me?
I felt sorry for Fang, though. One side is his junior, and the other is his faculty. So, he sat with his arms crossed, watching quietly. But the real pity is that I don't know how many goals Tan scored yesterday. Today, Fang is wearing a long-sleeved shirt, but my sharp eyes can still see the red marks on his neck, haha.
"Hey, did Engineering select players based on looks rather than skill?" Chan shouted, teasing Phum's team as they prepared to enter the court.
It's not entirely untrue because Phum and his friends, whom I don't know, look like a team of celebrities. No wonder the gym was overflowing with both real and fake girls. Besides the Engineering guys, the Architecture team, led by Kluen, was no less impressive.
"And why is the dentist here? Finished your swimming competition?" Phum threw a towel at Chan's head.
"I didn't want to stand out, so I let the juniors shine."
"Really? I think you're just too old to swim." Q pushed Chan's head.
Haha. Serves him right. He probably used up all his energy doing something else and had none left for the competition, that dentist.
"Peem, can I have the armband?" Phum stopped in front of me.
I, Q, Chan, and Beer were sitting in the first row of the stands. Tan, Fang, Pan, and Mick were sitting in the row above us. Next to them were Green, Gigi, Katie, and their gang. I thought I came early, but Green and his gang must have camped out since the gym wasn't even open yet, haha. Look at them staring at Phum, their eyes are glazed over, haha.
"Oh, here it is."
I searched my bag for the soft black armband with the checkmark symbol for Phum. He was in such a hurry this morning that he forgot it and called me to bring it. It looks cool on him because it contrasts with his uniform. Today, Engineering is in white, and Architecture is in black.
"Have you eaten?"
"Yes, I have. Worry about yourself. If you lose, I'll let you walk home."
"What if I win?"
"Then you'll get the championship."
"I don't want the championship. I want Peem."
I was speechless. He laughed, pleased that he had rendered me speechless. Are you drunk on basketball, Phum? He put on the armband and teased me without a care. Our friends seemed to enjoy seeing him flirt with me.
The whistle blew for the players to take the field.
"The game is starting. Give me some encouragement."
"Encouragement isn't for sale. Do you want to eat here or to go?" I joked.
"I'll take this one home."
Woohoooooooooo!!! The crowd hooted and hollered.
"Is your father ordained? Why the hell are you booing?" I retorted.
"Alright, alright. Don't be shy. Just give Phum what he wants. We'll close our eyes." Q teased, pretending to close his eyes and wink at me.
Damn, I'm embarrassed.
"You're so cute, Shorty."
Don't start, Phum!
"Handsome, please, Handsome. Use the correct and appropriate term for me. Now go, your friends are waiting... and su su na!"
"Thanks^^" Phum patted my cheek before joining his friends.
They huddled together, shouting "Engineering, fight!" to boost their morale before the game. Their cheer was so loud that it was followed by screams at 18 million decibels.
"Go P'Phum!"
"He's so handsome, so cool. Nong Phum!!!!!"
"Ahhh!!!!!! Kluen!!!!"
Yeah, the crowd went wild. When both teams took the field, they shook hands. Kluen saw me and waved with a big smile. I smiled back and mouthed, "Fighting." Phum glanced over but didn't say anything. My boyfriend has grown.
After our talk at my house, Phum seemed to accept Kluen. He probably realized who I truly love. Kluen still calls me, chats on MSN, BB, and Facebook, and Phum doesn't mind. See, when we understand each other, life is happy. ^^
But Phum did say, "I'll use him to deal with anyone who messes with you." Purely evil +_+.
"Hey Q, who do you think our hot friend is cheering for today?" Chan asked, winking at Q. They were talking over my head.
"Come on, Chan. It's obvious. But I'm worried there might be a boxing match in the middle of the basketball game."
"Hehe." said a handsome guy sitting above us with his arms crossed.
I must have done something to him yesterday, and now I'm getting payback.
The sight of Phum and Kluen standing face to face, staring each other down for the ball, might have enchanted the crowd in the gym, but it made me quietly sad. Why are they both so tall? Why am I so unfortunate? Nooo!!! But looking at their heights, they seem about the same, though Kluen might be a bit bulkier.
Even though Phum and Kluen were standing there, I looked past Kluen. My eyes weren't tilted, but my heart was, so I only saw Phum. Swoon! >_<
As soon as the referee tossed the ball up, both Phum and Kluen jumped to tip it, and Kluen was faster. The Architecture team got possession. The sound of shoes squeaking on the floor filled the gym as both teams ran to guard and steal the ball. Engineering scored first. Phum dribbled past number 6 from Architecture and made a beautiful three-pointer.
The crowd screamed, and Phum smiled at the cheering girls before winking at me. People around there all melted, haha. You're so bold.
"Green, I can't take it anymore. I want to give myself to Phum."
"Oh, my dear pervert friend, even if you lit incense and knocked on his coffin, Phum wouldn't see you because the real deal is here." Green said, giving me a sweet look, making Katie glare at me.
"Why is your husband flirting with Phum?" Katie snapped at Gigi, who quickly clung to my arm.
"Don't accuse my husband, Katie. Peem just lost his mind and wants a husband like us." Gigi said.
[T/n: 🤣🤣🤣]
"Gotcha!" My friends chimed in, backing Gigi.
"Gigi, I'll smack you against the post." I threatened, though I've never hurt a type two woman.
"Oh my, such a sharp tongue. Beer ka, please help me." Gigi switched targets, leaning on Beer's shoulder. Khun Chai Beer couldn't laugh any more, his body froze, unable to move, haha.
"Do you follow us to every game, Green?" Q teased.
"You bitch! Who said I follow you? We followed Beer. Beer, yesterday we cheered for you at the football game." Green said, acting shy.
"Uh, thanks." Beer said, smiling awkwardly and nodding at Green and Gigi. How come you can't speak when faced with pretty girls, Beer? Haha.
"Cheer for Beer? Which bar? So I can avoid it." Q joked again.
"Idiot! Handsome but dumb, my dear husband. I meant cheering for Beer, not being a beer girl." Green retorted.
"Oh right, I forgot. Who would take a deep-sea hippo like you to cheer beer? The customers would die of shock."
"Gigi, hold him. If I don't get Q as my husband today, don't call me Green Pratunam ." Green declared, making everyone around laugh.
Haha, it even got to the point of physical violence. It was a nice break from the intense competition.
"Enjoying the view of my brother?" Fang, sitting above, pushed my head.
"Yeah, just like you were watching my friend yesterday." I replied, making him go silent.
I just noticed that Phum and Kluen play the same position, shooting guard. Haha, they're going to run themselves ragged. Naturally, they have to guard each other, which might lead to some clashes.
But even if they clash, it's all within the game, no dirty play. They're both manly about it. I'm not cheering for either Engineering or Architecture; I'm cheering for Phum and Kluen. Whoever has the ball, I cheer for them, haha.
Isn't it a coincidence that they're both wearing the same number, 10? And coincidentally, I was born on the 10th too. Haha, I hope it's just a coincidence.
The atmosphere in the gym is intense. The crowd is having a blast, with drums from both sides creating a lively atmosphere. The screams and cheers are nonstop. It's a close and fierce game, fitting for a final. The play is very fast. Architecture is better at rebounds, while Engineering focuses on sharp attacks. If they get into Architecture's zone, you can bet Engineering will score.
"Ahhh! Nong Kluen!"
After a long struggle for the ball between Khluen and Phum, Kluen made a beautiful long shot off the backboard. Every time he scores, there's this scream. Sometimes, they scream just because he touches the ball.
"Oh man, my heart is going to explode. This is so intense, but cool. I was this hot when I was หนุ่ม (young-used for men)." Pan's voice echoed.
"So, you're old now?" Tan asked.
"Now I'm เอ๊าะ (young-used for women), right, Mick?"
"I don't know, I'm just handsome." Mick replied. Let them continue their madness.
[T/n: Whatever you say, Pan! 🙃]
"P'Q!!!" Here comes the troublemaker. Can he say anything other than "P'Q"?
"P'Q, Toey won a gold medal!" Toy ran up, grinning and holding his medal, with Matt panting behind him.
"What did you compete in, Toy?" We almost immediately lost interest in the basketball game.
"Sepak takraw."
"What?! Sepak takraw?!"
"Yes, sepak takraw. We just beat Law."
"............"
Silence.
"Yes! My wife plays sepak takraw! Haha! Didn't they give you the ball to cover your mouth after the game, Toey?" Q teased, making Toey pout. They started bickering.
I turned back to the game. Oh, I can barely breathe. Every time Kluen touches the ball, there's a scream. When Phum shoots, there's a scream before it even goes in. I can hardly catch my breath. They clash often. By the end of the first quarter, I was almost having a heart attack. It's very close. Engineering is trailing.
After leaving the court, Phum must have been so hot that he forgot and took off his shirt, causing the gym to erupt in screams.
"Ahhh! I need blood! Nong Phum is so fair-skinned!" The girls, both real and not, screamed from afar.
Phum quickly put his shirt back on with an awkward smile. Haha, if you didn't put it on, I would have covered you myself.
[T/n: ah, P'Peem is so possessive.]
"Tired?"
"Tired. Give me a kiss for encouragement." he panted but still had the energy to tease.
Q and the others booed loudly. Have you guys ever been hired to boo at an ordination ceremony?
"If you dare." I smiled and puckered my lips to tease him.
[T/n: Phum, if you don't dare, I'll do it.]
Phum chuckled before sitting down on the floor and using my legs as his backrest. Ew, his back was all sweaty.
"Shorty, wipe my face." he looked up at me with puppy eyes.
"Do you want to be famous?" I lightly pushed his head and handed him a cold towel and open a bottle of water. If there were fewer people, I might have wiped his face. But here, huh, I didn't dare. Phum is already the center of attention.
The game continued, and by the third and fourth quarters, I felt like I was watching an NBA game between the Boston Celtics and the Los Angeles Lakers. It was intense. And then the time was up, the game ended with the victory of Engineering, who narrowly won 103-97.
Before leaving the court, Kluen walked up to Phum and extended his hand. The gym fell silent. I was on the edge of my seat. Phum looked at Kluen's hand, then at me, and after a moment, he shook Kluen's hand. The gym erupted in applause, singing, and drumming.
Winning or losing isn't important; it's a natural part of competition. What matters is sportsmanship, and both Phum and Kluen showed everyone that they are true sportsmen who won the hearts of the audience.
"Whew."
"Wow, you even sighed. You're amazing, making your husband and your mistress get along." Q teased.
Damn you, you buffalo!
[T/n: Sorry I don't know the male equivalent of " mistress" 😂]
...
..
.
After the intramural sports event ended, athletes were selected to represent the university in upcoming inter-university competitions. But that's not what caught my attention. The issue is that Phum became the captain of the basketball team, and Kluen also made the university team. This wouldn't affect my life much if I didn't have to wait for Phum to finish practice every evening. Y_Y My simple life cycle is just that.
I was sitting and drawing, waiting for Phum to shower and change after practice.
"Peem."
Thud!
"Hey! What the heck? If your throw had hit my handsome face, what would you do? Damn you."
Kluen had thrown a basketball that nearly hit my head. If I had looked up 0.01 seconds earlier, my nose might have been broken. He smiled charmingly, slung his bag over his shoulder, and sat next to me with the basketball. I could smell his body wash.
"Still looking good, haha." Kluen teased, leaning over to look at my drawing. "What are you drawing? Did you draw this with your eyes closed or with your feet?"
"In a few minutes, I might use my feet to kick your face, Kluen." I replied, laughing as he playfully pushed my head.
"How long are you going to flirt with my boyfriend?" Here comes my personal grim reaper, Phum, standing with his hands in his pockets, looking at Kluen like he's an asshole.
"A long time." Kluen replied, winking at Phum.
They stood there staring at each other like they were about to fight. If they were Siamese fighting fish, they'd have had three batches of babies by now. I just shook my head at them. They practice together every day and bicker every day. Don't they ever get tired of it?
[*During courtship, Siamese fighting fish stare at each other. Eye contact stimulates the female to produce mature eggs in her belly.
But which one has eggs in his belly?😂]
"You're too much." Phum turned to me, annoyed. Kluen chuckled.
"What? I didn't do anything. We were just talking. So, are you two ready to go?" I packed up my things, ready to leave.
"Want to grab dinner?" Kluen asked casually. I looked at Phum.
"Sure." he replied just as casually.
These guys and their pride.
Now, the three of us ended up at a popular pork leg rice restaurant behind the university. The place was packed with students, and we almost didn't get a seat. As soon as we sat down, we became the center of attention.
Understand this: at this table sat the former Engineering Moon and Architecture Moon, both incredibly handsome. Who wouldn't look? But I think people were more focused on Phum's arm around my shoulder. What two guys do that? I'm embarrassed, stressed, and have a headache. Should I take two packs of migraine pills?
"What do you want to eat?" Kluen asked.
"Anything. You order." Phum replied.
"How am I supposed to know what you want to eat?" Kluen retorted.
"It's a pork leg rice restaurant. What else is there to eat?" Phum shot back.
"Well..."
"Enough, you two. Stop arguing. I'll order." I had to mediate again. Ugh, exhausting.
"Eat a lot of fat, you'll get fat. Don't eat na." Phum said, pushing the pork skin off my plate.
Nooo! "But I like it." I looked longingly at the piece of pork skin.
"Hehe." Kluen chuckled from across the table.
"What are you laughing at, Kluen? Are you switching sides now? Supporting Phum?" I asked.
"What? I didn't say anything."
"You laughed at me."
"You're being ridiculous, Peem. I'm starting to feel sorry for Phum."
"See? Now do you understand who's really lucky between you and me?" Phum said, ganging up with Kluen. I'll throw both of you into the pot of pork leg stew!
After we finished eating, Kluen went home, and Phum and I drove back to our place ^o^. Phum hummed along with the radio, and seeing him in a good mood made me smile too.
Phum must understand the relationship between Kluen and me now. Otherwise, he wouldn't let Kluen get close to me. Phum may have a sharp tongue, but he's kind-hearted. But I still wonder what they talked about the day I dropped Kluen off at the bus stop.
"Phum, why do you let me talk to Kluen? What did you guys talk about?" He smiled at me, took my hand, and kept his eyes on the road.
"It's men's business. You wouldn't understand, Peem."
O_O
=_=
>o<
You son of a bitch! I have a dick too, you know! Fire-breathing!
