Homecoming

Some characters will have multiple POV'S in this chapter. Also this is my first time using multimedia. Ever.

Chapter 25: Homecoming

Krystal's POV

"They're here!" Rosie trills sliding her phone into her clutch. "Are you ready?"

"Calm down and help me down the stairs," I grabbed my own clutch. "I can't do it by myself in these heels."

"Oh of course," she takes my arm. Once we reach downstairs my mom requests we pose for a picture.

"Smile ladies!"

"Ok let's go now," I said impatiently.

"Have fun and be safe!"

"We will!"

Outside Charles and Josh are waiting outside with their cars. Charles agreed to be Rosie's date for the night.

"Hi Charles!" Rosie waved. I elbowed her.

"You know they can see us right?"

"Rosie," he politely kissed her hand and opened the passenger door. She clambered in. He didn't say a word to me.

Dickhead.

"You look stunning," Josh pulled me in for a passionate kiss.

"You don't look too shabby yourself," I grin up at him.

He opens my door and holds out his hand to help me up. "Shall we?"

I take his hand. "We shall."

Reese's POV

I honked my horn for the fifth time. Could she be any slower? I didn't even want to go to this stupid event.

"Oh my gosh could you not!" She yanks open my car door. "I'm right here!"

"I got here ten minutes ago!"

"So? Learn to be patient." She slides in. I glare at her.

"Well?! Are we going or not?"

"I have half a mind to throw you out of this vehicle. While it's moving."

"Do it and I'll drag you down right along with me."

"Let's just get this over with," I shift the car into drive and floor it.

~~~~~~~
"Damn the parking lot is packed. If you hadn't taken so long we might've gotten a spot."
"Just shutup and stop ok! I won't let you ruin this night for me with your bad attitude!"
I turn to Kimora. She honestly looks upset and I sigh.
"Fine. I'll behave."
"Thank you," she smiles and adjusts her dress. "Look a spot just opened up over there."
I carefully maneuver the car and park it. There's already a long line at the door.
"Here's your ticket." I pull them out from my pocket and hand her one.
Now, time to wait in this long line.
Sebastian's POV
"I just want to say hi to her parents."
"You'll see them later!" I protested.
"Sebastian, unlock the doors right now."
"But-"
"Now."
I grudgingly unlock the car doors and she steps out. We walk to Cheyenne's front door and knock. The door swings open.
"Hi, you must be Lillian Cole, Sebastian's mother." Mrs.Woods exclaims. "I'm Raquel." They hug like old friends.
"Come in, come in, it must be chilly out there," she gestures us inside. Once the door is shut she faces me.
"It's nice to see you again Sebastian."
"You too Mrs.Woods."
"Cheyenne should be down soon, if you'll just wait a moment." She walks to the bottom of the staircase.
"Cheyenne, Sebastian is here!"
"Coming!" Her voice calls back.
My mom and Raquel immediately strike up a conversation, chatting animatedly. Just then a tall man walks in wearing pressed jeans and a sweater.
"Oh, this is my husband Damon." Raquel explains.
"Nice to meet you," My mom and him shake hands. Then he gaze flicks to mine and becomes hard.
"You must be my daughters boyfriend."
"Ummm yes sir," I reply uncertainly. We too shake hands and maybe I'm just imagining it but his grip is tighter than it needs to be.
Suddenly theres a gasping sound and I turn towards the stairs. My eyes widen.
Cheyenne descends the staircase in a slim little dress and fuck me sky high pumps. Her hair is straightened to it's full length and although I'm not a big fan of makeup because I believe in a girls natural beauty, I do have to admit that she looks great with it on.
"Oh sweetie," her mom dabs at her eyes with a tissue. "You look wonderful!" My mom agrees.
"Thanks." She stops in front of me. "Hey," her voice wavers nervously.
"Hey," then we smile goofily at each other and I clear my throat. "You look beautiful."
"Thank you." She smiles.
"Ok time for pictures!" We pose for at least twenty pictures and Cheyenne complains the entire time.
"That's enough. We're leaving," she takes my arm and drags me toward the door. I twist my head around to say bye to my mom.
"Have fun and be safe! Your father will be here to pick me up."
Once we're safely inside the car Cheyenne turns to me.
"See? That's what you'll be spending two weeks with."
"I think I'll survive," I smirk driving off.
Kimora's POV
"Ticket and school ID please."
"Here." I slap the ticket in her outstretched hand and flashed my ID. She opened the rope barrier and let me in. I stood against the wall waiting for Reese.
He entered after me and together we walked into the gym. We never had a theme for homecomings at our school, only prom did, student government just decorated the gym very nicely. Colorful streamers hung from the ceiling along with balloons and flashing lanterns. There was confetti all over the floor and a table for drinks. On the stage, the Dj spun some tunes. Save dat money by Lil Dicky ft. Fetty Wap was currently playing.
"So what do you do at these things?" Reese looked around uncomfortably at the crow of people. I laughed.
"You dance! Come on!" I pulled him toward the dance floor. He stood stiffly.
"Reese it's just like a house party except the people are dressed better, there's no drugs or alcohol, and you paid to get in."
He started loosening up and was soon moving freely to the music, a small smile stretching across his lips.
See? I knew he'd have fun.
Cheyenne's POV
The dance was packed. I could already feel the humidity causing me to sweat in nervous anticipation.
"Let's get something to drink and hit the dance floor!" He shouted over the music. I nodded and he lead me toward the punch table.
"Cheyenne!" I turned around to hug Krystal.
"You look gorgeous!" She praised me.
"Thanks. So do you!" Krystal's hair was styled down and slightly curled. She'd used a bobby pins to form a bump and was wearing the deep purple knee length dress with off the shoulder sleeves. It was plain, but the jewelry she wore made her stand out.
"How about we all dance together?" Rosie suggested.
"Sure." Charles agreed downing his punch.
Work started playing and I grabbed Sebastian's hand.
"This is my favorite song!"
Even though I was supposed to be dancing with Sebastian I ended up with Krystal and Rosie instead. Oh well. It was much more fun to dance with girls anyway.
"Are you guys having fun out there!?" The Dj yelled.
"Yasssss turn up!"
"Well good, because I have more hits coming your way!"
Cool for the summer started playing and all the girls screamed.
"OMG THIS IS LIKE MY FAVORITE SONG EVER!" Rosie screeched.
Most of the guys stood in circles talking while we had our fun. They played a few more songs before the Dj spoke again.
"Alright folks we've got a slow number coming up. Grab your date for this one."
They started playing Because you Loved Me by Celine Dione and Sebastian tapped my shoulder.
"May I have this dance?"
"Of course." I giggle and laced my arms around his neck. He held me close and we swayed to the music. I inhaled his scent and snuggled close to him.
I hoped this would last.
Krystal's POV
After the slow song finished they played another but Josh pulled away.
"What's wrong?" I frowned.
"Nothing I just need some air." He walked off without another word.
"Ok...?" I said to his retreating figure. What was his problem?
With no one else to dance with I stood against the wall by myself and sipped some punch. The Dj started playing upbeat songs again and I patiently waited for Josh to return. I even danced some more with Rosie and Cheyenne. Still he didn't come back.
"It's time for our 2016 homecoming King and Queen to be announced!" Principal Shaw took the stage and the music stopped. I frantically texted Josh.
Me: homecoming King and Queen about to be announced! Where r u?!
Rosie squeezed my arm and my heart beat in anticipation.
"And our homecoming Queen this year is.... Krystal Parker!"
There was thunderous applause as I made my way up to the stage. Lacy, the president of student government placed the tiara on my head and handed my my bouquet. I grinned and waved to the crowd. Third year in a row baby.
"Now for our homecoming king," Mr.Shaw tore open the envelope. "Josh Green!"
More applause followed and I waited for Josh to join me on stage. And waited. And waited.
He never came.
The clapping died down and was replaced with confused chatter and murmuring.
"Josh Green?" The principal repeated. "Is Josh Green present?"
"I just saw him leave!" A student called out.
Leave? As in leave homecoming?
"Oh." The principal said awkwardly. "Well then..." He trailed off uncertainly.
I couldn't believe Josh had just left. To where? The store? Home? He was my freaking date! My ride home! What kind of boyfriend just left their pregnant girlfriend stranded at homecoming? It was like my charity gala all over again.
The gym was dead silent.
I ripped off my crown and threw it on the stage along with the flowers and stormed off. Already my eyes started to water.
I went to the back of the school and slumped down against the wall.
I cried.
Reese's POV
"Well that was awkward," Kimora said. "I can't believe Josh ditched her. I don't like the girl and all but that's really cold."
"I'm going to go check on her." I took off before Kimora could say anything. She wasn't at the front of the school so I checked the back.
As I suspected she was sitting against the wall crying softly.
"Hey," I spoke gently sitting next to her.
"Here to gloat?" She hiccuped.
"No. I just wanted to see if you're ok."
"Well I'm fine." She wiped her eyes. "You can go back to the stupid dance now."
"I'm good out here. It was getting hot in there anyway." I took of my jacket.
"Whatever." Krystal sniffled. It was quiet and all I could hear was the sound of crickets.
"Why don't you just break up with him?" I suddenly asked. She looked at me.
"Why, so I can get with you?"
"No because he's an asshole."
"Well he's not the only one," Krystal paused then looked me directly in the eye.
"All boys do is break hearts."
I flinch and she turns away.
"You know I don't even love him. I can't believe I fooled myself twice into thinking I did. I guess it took this for me to finally get it through my head." She laughs humorlessly.
"Then who do you love?" I whispered. She didn't say anything and I was sure she hadn't heard me. Then I heard her soft reply.
"You know who."
Krystal stood up. "I'm going to call my mom and see if she can get our driver to pick me up. See you around." She disappeared into the darkness.
I sat there for the rest of the night, her words repeating over and over in my head.
You know who.
What's a party without a little drama thrown into the mix? Looks like the night didn't end well for some.
