BONUS SCENE#1: the vows

Hey y'all! I've decided to write a couple bonus scenes to show what has happened to the characters after graduation. This is coming damn near a year after I finished this book but better late then never I say. Anyway enjoy the first bonus scene!

Cheyenne's POV

Since I was a little girl I dreamed of my wedding day. After everything that's happened in my life I never thought I would get here. For a long time I'd closed myself off to the possibility of love. Love only gets you hurt.

Now I'm here, getting ready to be married to the man of my dreams.

I smile to myself remembering the proposal only just a few short months ago.

"Are we almost there yet?" I asked impatiently.

"Patience babe," Sebastian chuckled. "We're almost there."

My hands itched to remove the blindfold but I kept them perfectly folded in my lap.

It was so weird being back in the small town where I'd grown up. So many good and bad things happened here. I lost my mom and dad but got them back. I met and fell in love with Sebastian. I got my heart broken. My best friend almost died. I'd gone to homecoming and prom here. I'd graduated here. And now I was back because Sebastian had something special planned.

God graduation, how many years ago was that? Seven? Nine? It felt like a lifetime. So much had happened since then. I'd gone off to New Hampshire to get my degree in child care all the while struggling to maintain my relationship with Sebastian who was all the way in Stanford. To say it had been hard was an understatement. Sometimes I wanted to give up on us. There were so many problems, so many issues and so many fights. But I guess it's true when they say love conquers all. Now I have my masters in child care and run my own daycare I built from the ground up. Sebastian is a star NFL player. And we're happily together, enjoying life and enjoying each other.

"Alright we're here," I felt the car stop. "Don't take the blindfold off yet."

I sighed but waited patiently as he got out of the car and went around to open my door. He grasped my hand and helped me out. I felt him behind me untying the blindfold.

Evening was approaching but it wasn't quite dark yet. My mouth fell open in shock at the building before me.

Our old high school?

It was like seeing a mirage in the desert. Everything still looked exactly the same, save for some slight renovations. I was immediately hit with a flood of memories.

I turned to Sebastian. "You brought me all the way from our apartment in L.A, got me dressed up, brought us all the way here to take me to our old high school?"

What the hell kind of date was this?

Sebastian laughed. "Somehow I knew that's exactly how'd you react. But no, there's more."

I scoffed. "There's more? Did you manage to get the keys so we can go inside? Maybe check out our old classrooms and visit the gym?" My voice was dripping with sarcasm but either he didn't pick up on it or was ignoring it. I assumed the latter.

He shook his head. "As good as an idea that is unfortunately no. I can't believe you don't recognize where we are."

I crossed my arms. "Where are we?"

"This is the place we first really met. When I offered you a ride home."

This time I looked around more closely. I'd been about to walk home from school that day. It was almost a four mile walk. I'd come down those steps when a red car pulled up....right where Sebastian was currently parked. The conversation that ensued hadn't been pleasant but I finally gave in and let him drive me home.

"Wow," I was at a loss for words. "I can't believe you remember that."

"Of course I remember. I remember everything when it comes to you. You also slapped me in the locker room here. Twice."

I laughed remembering.

He opened the car door and I got back inside. At his insistence I put the blindfold back on. A bittersweet feeling was in my heart as we drove away.

Our next stop was the park where we had our first kiss. He took me to all the places we'd been around town and we rehashed old memories, the good and the bad. I still didn't understand why I was dressed up but I shrugged it off.

Finally we pulled up to what he deemed our last stop. I was excited to see where we where. When he pulled off my blindfold I finally understood why I was dressed up.

Mon amour. The restaurant we'd gone to for our first date.

"You sly little devil," I grinned at him.

He smirked in response.

Somehow Sebastian had managed to get us the exact same table we'd gotten all those years ago. We talked, ate, and laughed.

Near the end of our meal I reached across the table and placed my hand on top of his.

"Thank you. This was the nicest date I've ever been on."

"Only the best for you," he lifted my hand to kiss it. "I love you."

"I love you."

He trailed kisses along the inside of my wrist and I giggled. "Not here Sebastian. But I think you've earned a little something something when we get back to the hotel."

He looked up wiggling his brows. "Just a little?"

I bit my lip. "Maybe more."

"I like the sound of that. But first..." he stood up and clinked his spoon loudly against his wine glass earning the attention of the entire restaurant.

"Attention everyone. I have an announcement to make!"

I was shocked into silence. Now what was he doing?

"This woman right here," he gestured to me. "Is my amazingly, beautiful, loving, caring, talented, girlfriend. We've been together for seven wonderful years. She's my heart, my rock, my soul, my world, my everything. I can't imagine my life without her."

There was awing and I felt my heart swell with love. "Sebastian..."

"Without her I don't know where I'd be today. I want to spend the rest of my life making sure she's happy. Which is why I have a question..." he got down on one knee and my heart stopped. Out of his pants pocket he pulled out a ring box. A collective gasp swept the room.

"Cheyenne Leigh Woods I love you so much. I will continue loving you until the day we die. But now I don't want you to just be my girlfriend. I want you to be my wife. Will you marry me?"

Tears welled in my eyes and I nodded vigorously. "YES YES! I will marry you!"

He slipped the ring on my finger and there was thunderous applause. I leaped into his arms and he spun around hugging me tightly. Our lips connected in a passionate kiss.

I pulled back and stared at the sparkling diamond on my finger.

I couldn't believe it. Soon I would be Cheyenne Leigh Cole.

And now here I was today. Staring at my reflection. I was about to walk down the aisle. I was about to become a wife.

"You look stunning," Krystal fixed my veil while Kimora was at my feet adjusting my dress and train.

"Like a princess come to life," Kimora agreed.

I kept staring at myself. The dress was strapless, the top hugging me nicely and embedded with many diamonds and pearls. The bottom flowed out into beautiful layers.

My mom sniffled and dabbed at her eyes with a tissue. "My little girl all grown up and getting married. I couldn't be more proud of you baby."

"Thanks mom," I smiled.

Everyone, my friends and family had really outdone themselves with this one. Krystal had taken charge and planned the entire thing along with my mother. Kimora did my makeup and Rosie fixed my hair which was pinned up in a complicated curled hairstyle with strands framing my face.

Speaking of Rosie she suddenly burst through the dressing room door. "Omg Cheyenne you look amazing!"

Haley was right behind her snapping pictures. She was a photographer for New York Times and also took professional photos for events. She was highly demanded for her skill but of course she was where today free of charge.

"My brother is going to die when he sees you," She continues to snap pictures excitedly until Krystal yanks the camera from her hand.

"Save some photos for later will you?"

I laughed at the both of them. "I certainly hope he doesn't. That would be quite tragic."

"Is everything ready?" My Mom asks Rosie.

She nods. "Yep. We're all ready to go."

My mom turns to me. "Are you ready?"

My heart thumps with both nerves and excitement. "I think so."

"You think so?" Krystal demands. "Oh no you better be ready. I did not put myself through all this so you could get cold feet."

Kimora rolls her eyes. "Yeah Cheyenne take it from me she practically crucified me because I almost ordered the wrong flower arrangements."

"I said white roses Kimora, not red!"

"We can spend all day arguing about flower arrangements," my mother interrupted. "But I think it's time to get Cheyenne out there."

I take a deep breath and everyone turns to me.

"I'm ready."

My dad is waiting by the doors to the church. He holds out his arm to me and I take it.

"You look beautiful honey. I almost don't want to give you away."

I giggle mostly out of nerves. "Thank you."

The music starts and I see Ava goes out first sprinkling flowers along the way from her basket. Then my bridesmaids which include Krystal, Rosie, Kimora's cousin Mindy, Haley, and. Kimora is up there as my maid of honor. The groomsmen are Reese, Josh, Jacob, and Benjamin. Charles is Sebastian's best man. Everyone is lined up. Now it's my turn.

As the music reaches it crescendo I walk out with my father. I can hear murmurs and catch words like "beautiful" and "stunning" but my eyes lock with Sebastian and the world falls away.

Sebastian. My love. My life.

His mouth drops open slightly and Charles nudges him chuckling. When we reach the front my father hands me over to Sebastian. We stand in front of each other smiling like maniacs.

"You look breathtaking," he says.

"And you look dashing," I reply. He really does look yummy in his white tux and hair slicked back. He's mostly clean shaven with only a hint of stubble. His brown eyes sparkle with love and happiness. I'm sure mine look the same.

"You may all be seated," the priest states and everyone sits.

"Dearly beloved with are gathered here on this joyous day to join Cheyenne Leigh Woods and Sebastian Harrison Cole in holy matrimony."

He continues his short introduction before it's time for our vows. Carson, Rosie's son and our ring bearer comes down the aisle with the rings. Sebastian takes his first and slips it onto my finger before reciting his vows.

"I, Sebastian Harrison Cole take you, Cheyenne Leigh Woods to be my lawfully wedded wife. To have and to hold from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and health, until death do us part."

I can't help it. My eyes mist over and I wipe them before taking my ring and slipping it on his finger.

"I, Cheyenne Leigh Woods take you, Sebastian Harrison Cole to be my lawfully wedded husband. To have and to hold from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and health, until death do us part."

I can hear sniffling in the crowd.

The priest turns to Sebastian. "Do you take this woman to be your wife?"

He looks me straight in the eye. "I do."

"And do you take this man to be your husband?"

I wipe my eyes again and nod. "I do."

"Then by the power vested in me I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may now kiss the bride."

Sebastian lifts my veil and to the sound of cheering, whooping, hollering, and clapping we become one.

Sebastian's POV

"And smile!"

I smile as the camera flashes.

"Alright that's a wrap. We'll take more at the reception."

More people come up to congratulate Cheyenne and I. I stare down at her as she smiles at another guest and thanks them for coming.

Cheyenne. Cheyenne Cole. My wife.

I couldn't be happier.

"To the reception!" Charles shouts. "Make room for the bride and groom!"

The crowd parts down the middle and I lift Cheyenne up bridal style. She squeals as I pick her up. There's more clapping as I run down the aisle with her, her arms latched tightly around my neck, her beautiful laugh in my ear.

The driver is waiting for us outside with the door already open.

"Was that really necessary?" She asks as I place her inside then follow suit. The door is closed. We have our own private limo and another limo for our wedding party. The rest of the guests will be arriving with their own transportation.

"Of course," I tease her. "I live to embarrass you."

She rolls her eyes but she's smiling. I lean in and cup her face in my hands.

"God I love you."

Then we're kissing and her hands grip my suit jacket. I pry her mouth open and slip my tongue inside deepening the kiss.

She pulls back first breathless, eyes glimmering. She rests her head against my chest and I pull her closer stroking up and down her arm.

Once we arrive at the hall rented out for us Cheyenne and I are escorted into a private room with the rest of the wedding party. We have to wait for all the guests to arrive and settle in before they announce us.

Haley takes the opportunity to take pictures of all of us. I can't imagine having to go through hundreds of photos but Haley loves it. I guess that's why she's a photographer.

"My man is now officially taken," Charles slaps my back.

"I was always taken."

"Yeah but now shits real."

Only Charles.

I have to say cheyennes Mom and Krystal really pulled out all the stops. The hall is decorated beautifully with hundreds of lights strung up and circular tables with linen table cloths and lilac bows, the chairs decorated in a similar fashion. The high tables where I'll sit with Cheyenne and the rest of our wedding party are set up on the stage along with the Dj and cake. Some type of glitter has been sprinkled on the floor to make it sparkle. Along the walls are a food and drinks table.

"And now," the Dj announces. "Introducing the bride and groom!"

I walk out holding Cheyenne's hand and a spotlight follows us all the way to the stage. We sit down along with everyone else.

I don't think I've smiled so much in my life.

I also don't think I've laughed so much. The speeches people give are hilarious.

"-and if Cheyenne can love him, then let me tell you, it's possible for you all to find love as well," Jacob finishes his speech. Laughter resonates through the crowd and I roll my eyes.

Krystal takes the microphone next. "Me and Cheyenne got off to a rocky start. In fact we pretty much hated each other. And Sebastian, don't even get me started on that asshole..."

"Why am I always getting insulted?"

"Because despite how lovable you are you also have your dickish moments," Cheyenne replies grinning and I narrow my eyes at her.

"I could say the same for you."

"-but now I can honestly say Cheyenne is one of my closest friends." Krystal turns to us. "I'm so happy for the both of you. Congratulations."

More clapping and the microphone is given to my father.

"I admit I wasn't always the best dad. After my wife was diagnosed with cancer I abandoned the two people who needed me the most. My son and my daughter. There's not a day that goes by that I don't regret my actions."

The hall is silent as he speaks.

"But now standing here today and looking at the man he's become I couldn't be more prouder. I'm glad that my son didn't make the same mistakes I did. And I'm glad I was able to shape up so I can be here, with my son on one of the most important days of his life. Sebastian I'm so proud of you and I know that your mother is too."

Next to me Haley sniffles and uses a tissue to wipe her eyes.

"Congratulations to the both of you," he finishes.

Cheyennes mom goes next. Her father is last. Afterwards Cheyenne and I have our first dance as husband and wife. Elvis Presley's Can't Help Falling in Love plays as we hold each other close and sway together. Her head rests on my chest and one arm is snaked around her waist while the other holds her hand up.

I never knew it was possible to love someone so much but I do. I love Cheyenne with my heart and soul. I'd lay down my life for her. She is my everything. Like a tidal wave she came crashing into my life, the best thing that could ever happen to me. We've been through a lot as a couple. But every problem we face only makes us stronger.

I know I'll never love anyone as much as her. Cheyenne is my one and only.

Forever.
