~~~ Alex's POV ~~~

I was furious at my father. I wasn't going to stay home and allow my friend to get hurt or worse.

'Onyx is talking to me.' Jacob said to me.

'What does she say?'

'She says that they have a plan. And to meet them in the medical wing.'

'The medical wing? why there?' I asked

'It is sound proof.' Jacob said.

'Oh. Duh. Ya ok tell her I will meet her there.'

I remained calm and allowed my dad to make plans. He didn't order me to stay. He just said he wanted me to stay.

It didn't take long for my father to get organized. He dismissed all of us from the office.

I walked towards the medical wing and waited for Aeliana.

"Are we the only ones in here?" she asked coming up beside me.

"Yes we are." I said.

"Good. Here is the plan."

Aeliana told me the whole plan. It sounded pretty good. And we separated to get everything organized. It was only going to be her and I but it was going to be three days to get there if we didn't take a vehicle.

I ran up to my room and gathered up some cloths and place them in a back pack. I packed some smaller cloths of mine incase Esarosa or Aeliana needed them.

Than I headed down stairs. I placed my back pack near the stairs and went to say bye to my father. I hugged him and wished him a safe journey. I was happy that he didn't order me to stay.

I watched as my father, Dr. Lowell, Seth, Jargon, Zack and Candice all piled into my fathers Chevy short box crew cab truck. My father started the truck and they all drove off.

'Aeliana is ready. She says we will have a ride in half an hour. We have to walk down to the river though.' Jacob said to me.

I nodded and headed off to fetch my back pack. I knew Aeliana was getting food for us just in case.

I picked up my pack and than snuck out the door. I was surprised that nobody was there watching the door.

I headed towards the river. I knew that Aeliana would soon follow.

I heard a twig snap behind me. I was half way to my destination. I turned around slowly and was happy that it was only Aeliana behind me.

She laughed when she came up to me. "Sorry Alex I didn't mean to sneak up on you."

I shrugged "it's ok. I was lost in thought. I should be more careful."

She smiled "well let's continue our walk." She said taking a couple steps.

I walked with her quietly for the rest of the way. I was surprised when we got to the small clearing and there was jeep sitting there. I extended my scenes. I couldn't feel anyone near.

I turned to Aeliana "how?" I asked her.

She just smiled and shrugged.

I watched as she opened up the lid to the fuel tank and grabbed a set of keys.

Than she unlocked the doors and got into the drivers seat.

"Are you just going to stand there." she asked me as she started up the jeep.

I shook my head and walked around to the passenger side and climbed in.

"Do you know which way to go?" I asked her.

She nodded her head and led us towards Wadena. It was a three hour drive and we didn't talk much.

"I am not sure where the hospital is." Aeliana said taking me out of my thoughts.

"Oh. Ummm hold on a second." I said as I asked Jacob to search for my father.

'He is to the right.' Jacob said to me.

"My father is to the right." I said.

Aeliana turned the jeep right and headed a couple blocks. We found the hospital. I saw my dads truck parked in the parking lot.

"Shit. Dad will recognize my scent." I said.

Aeliana smiled and shook her head. "As long as you stay in the jeep he won't scent either one of us. We will seem human." She said smiling.

I just stared at her. I couldn't imagine what she had said.

"Just watch." She said.

We watched as my dad and Dr. Lowell walked out of the hospital and headed back to the truck. They didn't once look over to us.

My dad climbed into the drivers seat and they all headed out again. "Why is Dr. Lowell not in the truck?" I asked out loud.

"Hmmm. I don't know." Aeliana said.

We continued to watch than we heard a low howl. Than dr. Lowell headed off in a very fast pace. "Who was that?" Aeliana asked.

"I think that was Seth" I said.

"Well that would explain why they drove off. Your father wanted a safe place to shift."

I simply nodded.

"What now?" I asked her.

"We track them." She said.

"Ok."

We found a place to park the jeep and headed off in the direction that dr. Lowell ran off in.

I couldn't believe that I had missed the dr by a couple hours. But the nurses were kind enough to phone her and let me talk to her.

"I know where Esarosa is." Was all I said. Than I hung up the phone. I had to get back to the pack house.

I ran outside and headed for the bush line that was just on the edge of the parking lot. I shifted and ran back to the house.

I got to the pack house and slipped back inside. I heard more growling and than whimpering.

'Mommy.'

'Monique. Where are you?' I asked panicking.

'With Esarosa. Her and dad are fighting.' She said sounding really scared.

'Get out of there I am on my way.'

I ran as fast as I could. I got there in time to see Esarosa pin Josh to the floor. He was in his wolf form but she wasn't. I didn't know why she didn't shift. I growled at the whole scene in front of me. I wasn't mad at Esarosa. I was mad at Josh.

"Let him go." I said calmly. Obviously there was no point in using my beta tone.

"Why?" she asked threw gritted teeth.

"Killing him will only seal your fate." I replied.

She looked up at me and I saw that her eyes were a dark orange. Much like her fathers before he would shift.

I watched as her arm muscles relaxed slightly letting my mates throat go but not completely.

"He threatened Monique. And than attacked me. I am not in the wrong." She said. I could tell she was still furious and probably wouldn't calm down till my mate did.

"Josh submit. Our daughter is stronger and faster than us. She always has been." I say trying to calm Esarosa.

She growled but still hadn't shifted.

"Esarosa. Please let him go." I tried again.

The next thing I knew. It wasn't the three of us anymore.
