Monique's pov

The old woman standing in front of smiled warmly and bowed.

"Who are you?" I asked as I stood slightly in front of Keira to protect her.

"Princess Wind. My sister is Queen Anemone."

I didn't move. Queen Anemone was a wind elemental and the current queen of all the elementals.

"What do you want with Kiera?" I asked.

Princess Wind smiled "To help train her. And to guide you in protection."

I stood there in between Keira and the princess. I didn't know what to say. I felt Keira's hand on my arm and looked over at her. She smiled warmly and than everything went black around us.

"If she can find us. She can train me." Keira said smiling. I knew than she used her shadow ability. But than I thought.

"Keira. There wasn't any shadows. How did you make us go shadow?"

Keira smiled. "I am sorry but I mixed our abilities. I could hear princess Wind's thoughts. She had thought we might be able to mix. As long as we touched."

It was my turn to smile but than soon I frowned in confusion again "how could you hear her thoughts?"

"I don't know." She said shrugging.

Than I thought about it. "Didn't she say you are the heir?"

Keira looked at me. Than she jumped up and down. "Yes she did."

When she let go we both came visible again to everyone. I looked around and noticed we were in the one garden at the far end of the yard.

"It's pretty here this time of the year." Keira said calming down and changing the subject.

"Yes it is." I replied.

Keira came closer to me "lets do some training."

I nodded my head. "Try to turn those roses over there."

She smiled and walked over to the roses.

I sat down and meditated. Esarosa and Aeliana told me I needed to work on my patience and not over react to everything.

Esarosa's POV

"what do you mean a metal elemental?" I asked queen Anemone.

Everyone around us had stopped fighting and were all listening. I knew they wanted to hear the answer as much as I did.

"I mean just that." Queen Anemone said. Than she looked at Aeliana. "I do believe your father had already figured it out."

She was right the files we had read did say that King Jaxson thought that his granddaughter was the metal elemental.

"Yes he did." I heard Aeliana reply.

"Good. This is not the time or the place to discuss such things. This is a trial. I must bow out and head back to cast my vote." Queen Anemone said than there was a gust of wind and she vanished.

The elvin warrior that Keira first started to turn glared at me. "This is not over."

"Than I suggest we take this out side." I said. I was done listening to this a$$.

His glare turned into a cocky smile. "I will wipe the floor with you."

I just smiled. I was skilled in hand to hand combat.

We headed out and squared off. But before we started an elvin woman stepped forward along with my mother and with Rebecca. The three of them looked at both of us.

The elvin woman spoke first "there will be rules."

"Rule number one. No death." My mom said.

"Rule number two. No weapons." Rebecca added.

"Rule number three. No shifting of any kind." The elvin woman said.

"And the final rule. No magic of any kind. Esarosa that also includes your invisibility." My mom said looking at me.

The elvin warrior was furious with the rules but he turned and bowed at the elvin woman. I decided I should bow also at the three woman. I knew my mom was a princess and the elvin woman must be one also.

I turned back to the warrior before me and bowed to him. Than in a blink of an eye he was throwing the first punch.

I dodged it easily and brought my leg up to kick him in the stomach. I missed but that was fine.

We circled each other for along time before the warrior took another swing. It connected with my jaw and I was instantly angry. He smiled slightly until I swept his leg out from under him causing him to fall backwards. I took the opportunity and pinned him to the ground.

He tried to buck me off but I managed to hold him temporarily. I am not sure how he managed it but he flipped me over and pinned me. He pressed his elbow to my neck causing me to loose my breath.

This angered me more and I noticed that he didn't hold my arms tightly enough and I managed to bring my left hand up and punch him in the nose. He started to bleed instantly when we all heard the cracking sound of his nose breaking.

"You b*tch. You broke my nose." He said as he held his hand up trying to stop the bleeding. I took that moment to flip him and put him in a choke hold. He thrashed his arms trying to hit me.

I put more presser into my hold and soon his body went limp. He had passed out from lack of air.

I laid him on the ground and faced the three referees. The all nodded their heads and I backed away from the warrior. I found dr. snider and motioned for her to help the warrior.

She ran forward and looked him all over. Than she stood and looked at the elvin princess. "He is only passed out. I will have him taken to the medical wing for observation. His nose should heal in no time."

The elvin princess nodded her head than looked at me. "It has been along time since Elex has lost a fight." Than she bowed to me and turned towards her people. "Is there anyone else who feels our hosts are mangy mutts?" she waited for a reply and when no one answered she than said "everyone will listen and help in anyway. We are all lucky that this was a fair fight." Than she walked away.

I heard gasps and murmurs. But nobody challenged me again.

"Come my love lets get you cleaned up." I heard Aeliana say beside me.

Chapter Sixteen

The Decision has been made.

Is King Jaxson to be put to death or spared? is Alpha John's fate the same as his king? Those were the questions that the council was working out. It has been two months of arguing and finally it was time.

"Alright so all in favour?" Sexton asked the group. He was a demigod the only one allowed to come and over see such meetings. He wasn't allowed to vote but he could give his opinion. His main purpose was to keep the council from fighting.

He watched as just over half the room voted in favour. Everyone against allowing king Jaxson to live grumbled.

The kings and queens of the succubus, elves, Manticores, griffins, Ice giants, Naiads, dryads, nymphs, sprites, pixies, leprechauns, centaurs and the gargoyles, to name a few, wanted the blood of the king of wolves.

Sexton looked at Queen Elena. "How do you feel with this decision?" he asked in his deep voice.

Queen Elena stood up. the whole room grew even more quiet. They all looked at her and waited for her reply.

She was fighting tears. It was all up to her. She could plead her case to spare his life or sentence her husband to death.

Sexton was patient. He could feel the conflicting emotions the queen of wolves had. He was amazed that the woman didn't show them. The tears that were there were not visible unless you looked closely.

Queen Elena took a breath and let it out slowly. She looked at each person in the room. Than she said........

Aeliana took Esarosa back to their room. Esarosa's jaw was red still but it was broken. It would bruise but nothing serious. In a couple days you wouldn't even be able to tell.

Aeliana walked over to her partner and lover and took her by the hand and led her to their en suite.

Once in the bathroom Aeliana turned to Esarosa and stripped her bloodied cloths off. Aeliana started with Esarosa's shirt and after she took it off she leaned in and kissed her.

"We aren't going to do anything. You need a shower. And you like the water way hotter than I do." Aeliana said after she broke the kiss off.

Esarosa growled lightly.

"Hey don't growl at me. You are the one covered in blood."

Esarosa sighed. "Thanx for gettin me all worked up." She replied pouting

Aeliana smiled seductively. "After perhaps. now go have a shower and get cleaned up. Than I can help get you all dirty again."

Esarosa's face lit up. "I look forward to it." Than she turned and took her bra off than she strutted off to have a nice scalding hot shower.

Alpha John paced back and forth in his tiny cell. The walls were starting to feel constricting. He had carved a line in the wall to mark the end of each day. As he counted off the marks he realize two months had passed. Two months without his beautiful mate. His soul. his other half. He was wrong to listen to his king.

He did agree that a pack ran by a woman was weaker. But if he was honest to himself the girls seemed to have their whole pack with respect. They seemed to love the girls and followed them without hesitation.

Maybe he would get the chance to ask for forgiveness. He will accept what ever punishment the council seemed fit for him.

He closed his eyes and thought of Tonya. He missed her touch so much.

With tears running down his cheeks. He heard footsteps coming closer. 'This is an odd time for food.' He thought to himself.

Chapter Seventeen

Sexton was patient. He could feel the conflicting emotions the queen of wolves had. He was amazed that the woman didn't show them. The tears that were there were not visible unless you looked closely.

Queen Elena took a breath and let it out slowly. She looked at each person in the room. Than she said "I will not beg for my husbands life what he has done is unforgivable. But I will also not consent to his death."

Than with a flash Queen Elena produced a knife from the shadows and plunged it into her heart.

Sexton had seen this coming and he wove a spell around the woman. He was hoping she would change her mind. He knew how much she loved her husband and mate.

The whole room erupted into chaos.

"Enough!" He boomed. The hall grew silent and he spoke again "the life of the Queen has not been taken. I have woven a spell. This body may be gone but her spirit will be born again. I do have the power to bring this body back however."

The room erupted again into chatter. They were all not happy with this new development. The queen of wolves was much loved by the council.

Sexton once again shouted above the crowd. "My fellow members. It is time to make a full decision. What is to become of the king of wolves?"

The council all discussed. Than one member stepped forward. "The king shall be sent to death. He ordered the murder of royalty. He even committed one murder himself."

Sexton thought about what had been said than he waved his hand and King Jaxson was brought forth.

Once king Jaxson saw his wife he broke down in tears. Sexton stood over the man and said "this is done by your hand. Your wife and mate killed herself because she could not sentence you to death."

Jaxson cried harder. He had heard her final words of endearment. He had felt the pain of her loss. "I am so sorry my love." He whispered.

Sexton looked around the room and than said "I will not condone the death sentence. As of now I strip the king of his title and I take away his abilities. He will become the lowest ranking wolf of his own daughters pack. And he will be punished if he doesn't obey."

The room let up an uproar of protests. But with a wave of the gods hand the room once again went silent. "Need I remind you all that I am a god. My word is final. Even though I do not hold a place in this council. I was put in charge of this meeting."

"You can not do this!" the king of ogres bellowed.

"We want blood." The queen of succubus' said.

Sexton was getting angry. He raised both his arms and took away everyone's speech. "Finally I have silence. Now as I was saying. My word is final. We have seen blood for this a Prince has died and so has the queen."

When Sexton said the queen died. Jaxson cried. His voice was the only one other than Sexton's that could be heard. "Please spare my wife's life. I will give mine in her place."

Sexton looked at the king. He searched his mind and soul and found the king truly meant what he said.

"What is done is done. But what I will do is place your wife in a coma. If she wakes up on her own than her will to live is stronger than death. Her love for you will be her saving or her demise. It is up to you. Follow the rules of your daughters pack. Teach your late son's daughter how to be a proper shadow wolf and vow here and now to always protect them. Or death awaits you."

Jaxson didn't even think about it he lowered himself to the floor at the gods feet and vowed to protect his daughter, her mate and his granddaughter. The god accepted his vow and than with a wave of his hand the body of the queen vanished and jaxson found himself once again in the dungeons.

Sexton looked at the room of supernatural kings and queens. "Now my dear people what shall become of Alpha John?"

QUEEN ELENA'S POV

I couldn't do it. I couldn't sentence my heart and soul to death. But I also couldn't beg for his life.

I felt the shadows bring me the knife and than I knew what I must do.

"I will not beg for my husbands life what he has done is unforgivable. But I will also not consent to his death." I said to the room and than I stabbed the knife threw my heart.

I felt pain and than peace. The room of supernatural beings faded into darkness only to be replaced by a blinding light. I shielded my eyes and searched for the source of the blinding light.

"I see my brother has decided a fate for you." A woman's voice said. Than I saw a figure come out of the light and the light dimmed.

"What do you mean? Where am I?" I asked.

"You are in the realm of gods. But you are a spirit. My brother casted a spell on your spirit to be brought here. He was hoping you would choose life not death."

"Why would he care?" I asked timidly.

"My brother has come to like you. You are well loved in your realm. He had searched your heart and knew that your choice was made out of love."

I bowed my head as tears started to stream down my cheeks. "I couldn't sentence him to death. I couldn't beg for his life either. What he has done has went against our laws."

"Has it?" she asked.

I looked up at her confused. "What do you mean?"

"What your husband has done is nothing new for wolves. Your ancestors used to kill the alphas to become an alpha. Hasn't your daughters mate committed the same sin?" hasn't she broken the same law?"

"Esarosa killed the alpha because he tried to kill her." I replied.

"That is true. But what about her own father? wasn't he pinned and defenceless?"

I stood there and thought about it. I realized I didn't know the answer. But Rebecca did and she had said that both had tried to kill her daughters.

"Exactly. That is what she had told you both. But shall I show you what happened?"

I looked at the goddess and nodded my head.

"Please show me."
